  • I can remember when this would come down on Thursdays in Esquimalt, biggest consist was 5 boxcars and 5 hoppers, around 2000.

  • fantastic video sweet

  • good! and stay out!

Here is my take on RailAmerica :(

    good vid anyway :)

  • @CPRJAMES101

The only colors I like in Red White and Blue is BC RAIL. RailAmerica is based out of Florida.

  • @Nathanrailfan Yes I agree! no one cares about RailAmerica cuz of the way they treated or E&N

  • What kind of horn is that again? Leslie something-or-other...

  • Leslie RS3L

  • Last runs are so sad. A friend of mine lived on a property in Slocan that bordered on a rail line and he told me about watching railroad employees removing the line. Seeing the final cars disappear in the distance he said was not a happy day.

  • It's not quite the sad situation as CP's last run on the Slocan sub. The railroad is still running as the Southern Railway of Vancouver Island.

  • I seen the trackage in Salmo get stripped up and i was depressed :(

  • Did the hoppers come from top shelf or did they come from a customer around victoria that RA did a good job of pissing off and isnt taking cars any longer?

  • The hoppers were from Top Shelf in Duncan, yes. RA used to haul them over the Malahat and back for whatever reason when they brought anything down to Victoria. SRY-VI now leaves them in Duncan and only brings what's needed.
