  • I think the demonstrates accurately what the original sounds like compared to these other videos, and it sounds nice and clean. if you want to send me your strat that would be cool too =)

  • Get the audio from this clip at thetunify doht cohm.

  • Very Nice! Question: Can you demonstrate some of the classic Hammond B3 Rock organ sounds that are in the GR-20's sound banks? Thanks.....both in chord form and individual lead notes....

  • @musicandmovieguy55

I will try and see what I can do for you. I don't know which patches are Hammond, as GR lists them like "Rock Organ" "Purple Organ" and "Jazz Organ". Any particular sort of songs you want me to listen to/copy? I don't know much rock organ stuff you see.

  • Ahhh, my childhood just returned....excellent job there, well played!

  • Hey man, can you give me the tab pattern for the tapped arpeggio part? Looks like a pentatonic. Thanks!

  • Haha! That's great!

  • I wish you guys would stop playing the intro over the guitar. It overpowers the guitar and makes it impossible to tell if you're doing a good job or not.

  • @Xerock Hi! I don't know what you mean. What do you mean?

  • @nickwellings

He's right...don't play your version with the original.

    It's not good.

  • @nickwellings He means don't play the actual music when you're playing the guitar. We want to know if you're actually good, or just messing around and hoping to God we don't notice. (Incidentally, I would like to hear nothing but the guitar in a video that I watch for someone's talent.)

  • hey bro can you share the tabs?

    pleaseeee!!

  • Really nice Job,Thank you for uploading

    do you have the tabs?

  • can do you upload the midi file please? and send me a link?

  • Great stuff man.

Is that bridge pickup part of the Roland MIDI kit, or is it like a Hot Rail or something?

  • @helikestv Hi! The bridge pickup was a Red Lance Sensor. I have since removed it for a normal Strat pickup.

  • Too good. What I mean is it almost sounds like your not even doing it but instead playing the TV theme instead!

  • @Crabbok Thanks!

  • Best.Cover.Ever. Period.

  • @SeanCheeker Thank you!

  • wow that brought me back keep up the good work u got any other 80's cartoon music vids

  • Awesome cover dude. My brother and I grew up watching Thundercats. I was born April 16th 1981 and my brother Mike was born on July 24th 1982.

  • Just started re-watching Thundercats.

You sir, are a badass to the nth degree.

  • Thank you very much, this is the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me. :¬D

  • No problem man.

I'm assuming you figured this out by ear, but do you by chance have tabs for this? Really I can figure out almost all of it by ear, except I'm having trouble with the tapping part at 0:36 'cause I'm kinda nooby =P

  • Tried to send you the tab but it says I have to be your friend first to message you.

  • Accepted. Muchos gracias senor.

  • dude. so awesome. i've been wondering more and more about guitar synths and wanting one more and more and i think this pushed me over the egde. but do you like it and stuff and do you use it a lot?

  • Oh yes, I like it a lot. The fact that I cannot play keyboards but can trigger of vast soundscapes, is something I enjoy.

I don't use it too much in a band, though it is great for Van Halen covers like Jump and Why Can't This Be Love, as you can get very close to the sounds on record.

I think as a creative tool it is amazing, and very handy if you think "man I fell like playing piano/funk bass/flute/orchestra today!"

I like it a lot. The GR33 is a superior pedal though, very edit-able.

  • coooooooool dude=)

  • Thanks, man. Love your vids.

  • veeerhhhhhhhh nice!!!

  • Thank you for watching!!

  • Anytime :)

I only started tapping about two years ago and I'd love to learn this. Back in the 80s when my brother and I watched this we'd go down on our knees and play some serious air guitar to the tapped part. Anyway, enough nostalgia :)

    Good work and Merry Christmas!

  • Superb, sir! Especially the tapping...

  • Thanks!! It took me a while to work out what the guitar was doing! It was much easier to hear in this outro bit, so that is why I did it. Thanks for your kind comment.

  • nice job man

  • THUNDERCATS, HO!

Seriously, thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it.

  • aw..why didn't you play the intro??

I bet you would have owned

  • Nice job. turn your guitar up though

  • His guitar's turned up. He's just playing the piano, horns, and guitar WITH the guitar. Great stuff, I've been mulling over buying a Roland synth system for my Strat and just did after watching this.

  • Hey, way cool! That's nice that you made the purchase after watching...! The Joop Wolter's video on Youtube of him playing his Gr-20 persuaded me to get one. Have you seen that one?

Since this video was made I have made further mods to the guitar, including to the synth system. I might try and upload something new with it.

  • Master!!!!! Thank!!!!

    thank you very much

    you are brilliant

    really

excuse my language, I speak Spanish (from chile)

you're a true master of the guitar, I say you really

if some day could instruments of destruction :) when you can

    Masterrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No problem! I have tried to do Instruments of Destruction and the Transformers Theme by Lion. The guitar solo on Instruments of Destruction is really hard though!! :¬0 I will keep trying it. Thanks for watching this video and the others!

  • Sir, that was an awesome performance - can you play the intro? See this vid for ref -

    /watch?v=mSg0Dzbkgqs

    *****

  • Thanks! Yes, I initially tried the intro, but there was one part I could not hear or work out too well, the bit with guitar tapping (approx 00:38 video time here). So I did the outro, as it is easier to hear. They are very similar.
