oohh. how easy and stressless life (at traffic) is when you're riding a motorcycle... i just counted 80 ( eighty ) cars were overtaken (just in the left lane) one by one when they were all stopped, it took approx. 2 minutes for this overtaking. Not to mention motorcycles are a LOT more fuel efficient ( eco-friendly ) emit less monoxide. Downside: you must be double careful on the streets, watch for other drivers (and be more of a driver than an average automobile one)
I thought about getting a bike for exactly that purpose when I move to San Diego, soon. Yet, lanes are much narrower than here in Germany and also they don't use bumby reflectors so doing this in a serious traffic jam on the Autobahn is much more comfortable. Can you guys believe, gas is at 8,46$ per Gallon here right now :-(
surprisingly, usually not... 99 times out of 100, most people just stay doin their thing... so it makes it easy for you to just slip right by. That 1 out of 100 is what you always have to be ready for 100% of the time... the person who decides to change lanes, drifts across in front of you because not paying attention (Cell phone, etc).
But most people I find are indifferent... Only once in years of doing it, have I ever had someone intentionally try to block me off. a-hole!

this video makes me sad, i used to live there the last couple years, i used to drive the eight all the time to go to mission valley mall back to sdsu by my apartment on montezuma ! the dorchester ! good patry times there . i miss the 619 ! the traffic did suck tho lol.

f*k yeah! and I notice most other drivers are cool with it, they dont try to cut you off or anything.. only had I think 1 person in over a year actually try to cut me off & not let me pass on purpose. what a *#@!#
Yup that's what it looks like...I did this 100 mile a day round trip 5 days a week in Los Angeles traffic for 20 years. Still alive!
Watch out for Cops? No, find one and follow them through traffic...the car drivers seem to always see the police bike coming up from behind and they move over..like the parting of the Red Sea ; ) Here in CA the white helmets are city cops and won't stop you on the freeway unless you are being extra stupid. Highway Patrol does the freeways...gold helmets.
