Green was forced to resign, Logan retired, Novak was censured and Lake was arrested and of course had to resign too because the stupid fans didn't like him just like the didn't like Nina CAssidy from 06-07 >:(

Big Fred Thompson almost fired her for other reasons. She was also warned by Jack McCoy to be have herself or he would have her fired. The state/people has procedures to follow, Novak made the wrong choice, but for good reason, those procedures were to meet the burden of proof in order to get a conviction the right way.
So I watched this show from day one. I loved Alex and I thought nobody could ever replace her, but Casey did just that and I grew to love her as much as Alex. SVU is kinda blah now without either of them.
BTW this is actually one of my least favorite SVU episodes ever just cause it centers around Lake and Lake is lame. But this scene was terrific. How ironic that Casey gets disbarred by the woman who mentored her. Diane Neal's acting was great in this clip. She is missed :-(

No offense intended, but getting rid of Casey was the STUPIDEST thing ever. She is WAY better than Alex, and more entertaining to watch. Plus, you shouldn't be able to get rid of that level of awesomeness! Or if you guys are gonna just kick her out like that, at least let the character have a good reputation! Being disbarred is one of the most embarrassing that can happen to an ADA! That was just cruel. :(

When Casey first came to SVU she was very different but that changed over time as her job was being effected by the things she's seen at svu. As well as the people they charge and the ones they don't so her ways of practicing law began to walk the fine line of interference, and she crossed it one to many times. That doesn't make her any less brilliant at law just more human to me.
so I thought her character development was nicely done even if she did get disgraced as we got to see her struggle with the issue several times. And you know how in some movies they have that brilliant person in their field whose help they need, who stumbled ethically and lost their way, or they broke the rules and was discredited or let go because of it. Casey to me is SVU's version of that character, it all got to much and to personal so she was removed.
Well actually a lot of people would argue that Alex is just as great or better. Her sarcasm and attacking the clients is great. I loved Dian Neal or Casey but Stephanie Marsh does a great job too. She brings up more of an ethical debate in these cour scenes and it's great. I do feel sad she left and I agree it was pretty bad for her to be disbarerd but Alex is great too.
@HeroicLewis69 I know Casey was just trying to get justice. But Lake he shot the guy, theres no excuse for that. I know he was angry that the guy got away with Rape, but you can't go around shooting people.
@AnnieOwnsTheStreets Bring Diane Neal back and take B.D WOng and Tamara TUnie's names out of the intro credits because a medical examiner and psychiatrist (even if he's FBI) aren't as important as the detectives and DAs running the case. After all it's called Law & ORder Special VIctims Unit not Law & Order & Autopsy Special Criminal Intent Unit. Leslie Hendrix wasn't in the titles, J.K Simmons wasn't and Carolyn McCormick wasn't "Properley" in the titles. They weren't even in many eps season 12
i love this show so much..its the only good law and order...i hope alex and novack do reccuring ADA in each episode one takes a break and then the other one comes back it would be so much better
as far as i know diane left the show on her own. although i'm not sure what shes doing now, i hope she can return to svu even if its just a guest appearance.

Now finally the crime is solved, but when they took the case into the court, all they had as proof was a sample of semen found in the girl's body, but apparently it wasnt enough to blame him. And so casey said the proof was consistant. But it wasn't. She said the reports weren't finished yet, but they were...and so because of the lying...she got suspended.
