Hey i live in nebraska and found a snake on my backyard.. shes little and someone told me it was a bull snake, shes black and grey.. shes little and shes aggresive, i wont hold her.. do you kno if thats a bullsnake for sure??
i just found one of my pine/bull crosses that i lost in September and he has grown he is over 2 feet and was 14 inches when i lost him(a pine/bull cross is a pine snake bred to a bull snake, they are closely related enough where it doesnt create any problens and the pine snake makes the colors contrast better and gives them a thicker pattern)
Are you still in Colorado? Do you have any bullsnakes you could part with or sell? My son wants a bullsnake (maybe two), but I'm having a difficult time finding any.
Man I came a cross a huge 8 ft bull snake and tht was the meanest thing I ever seen I was about to catch it but he was to aggressive 4 me I gotta give it to him though I havnt ever been scared of a npn venomous species till now
theyre a pretty close species... hog noses are shorter and chubbier when they get older, as a warning to all the folks reading the comments just because he says theyre not poisoness doesnt mean you should go let them bite you, they can leave a real nasty infection
probably the markings on the back and bullsnakes have rings around their tails... but im not really sure if ive ever seen either at that young of an age. saw a rattler at that young before though.. thatl scare ya pretty good
We gave ours small goldfish (comets) you can get at Petsmart, etc . Also, small frozen mice (pinkies) worked if we held with a tweezers and tempted. Our garter snakes like regular old calves liver, raw, sometimes, too - that might work with the tweezers :)
Oooo! I got a bullsnake recently. Yeah he puts on a whicked show. I just havent gotta close enough to him to bite me. But, I guess its time to show him whoses boss... Everyone has told me he aint no beginner snake but its too late cause I've already bought him and his stuff.. Heh.
finally some one who knows what there doing, i just saw a guy smash a snakes head with a bat, step on it, then kick it a little, just to mess with his firend, thanks man
In the hallway of the building I work in! LOL. Actually three of them were found but one was found upstairs and those folks on the second floor don't know I'm the "snake guy".
It's pretty crazy because I've spent full days out walking trying to find bull snakes without any luck.
@ReptilePad i live colorado too haha. You seem to know your colorado snakes. Would you mind answering some questions about poisinous snakes of colorado for me?
I'm in Colorado Springs. We only have an online store now but are looking to open up retail store in the next year or two. Are you going to the Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo in Nov?
you have the same watch as me ! :[) also what specie of corn snake would u recomend for a beginer pet? ive got a water dragon and i want a snake now... please respond
Corn snakes are a good first snake. If you want something a little more exotic go with a ball python or a brazilian rainbow boa. Just make sure you can provide heat and humidity as required for boas and pythons. Corn snakes can be kept a room temp.
@ReptilePad corn snakes cannot be kept at room temp, they need 78 cool end and 85 warm end, also you should never take a snake out of the wild like you did with that bull snake
there pretty, wish i was able to catch them in Alabama
