Im suprised it got out going foward. And btw Duramax is good and so are the trucks they put them in. Cummins is overated, all the ones ive seen have been junk heaps that are only good if they have chips and other mods
actually all of you are wrong. the duramax is based off a 8v91 detroit diesel block, yes thats right a detroit diesel block. oh by the way, a ford powerstroke is not a detroit. its an engine created by international. yall are some fucking idiots.
Sweet truck. The fag two comments down doesn't know WTF he's it taking about. Ford uses Detroit deisels, dodge cummings and chevy isuzu. Also chevy owns isuzu so technically it us there.
I never heard that about ford but i know Cat was going to do something with GM in their trucks. And now Cat doesn't make any on road diesel engines, not even for the big rigs. Yeah the new Ford diesel is a 6.7L it should be a decent engine, somewhere around 380-400 hp and 700ft lbs.
I talked to a ford employee on here, been messaging n what not. Its not actually a ford diesel. Its still and international powerstroke but they used the name (scorpion) because its somewhat their design i guess.
I'm a chevy guy, just like hearing interesting info. And ppl who say the dmax is izuzu there wrong too. Duramax was a joint design now GM builds it in house. Pretty sure.
@Dustin91 Your right. GM owns the Duramax now. It is officially American made come the 2011 trucks it will have a bout 396hp & 765 ftlbs tq stock at the wheels
@20ALERO02 thats at the crank not the wheels lol unless a truck or car has a measurement like RWHP then dont ever think is at the wheels lol second of all gm stopped making there diesels availible with a manual trans mission cuz it couldnt hold the power and was destroying the clutch, ill take a 12valve cummings or a 7.3 powerstroke over any duramax out there ive worked on alot of diesels in my years and when it comes to stock working power those 2 are the best bottom line
Actually if you do some fucking research GM owns DMAX. Plus, the USA is one of the biggest imports, you fucking think that a Ford, Dodge, and even Chevy are all American. Nope! They buy from other countries, from whether it be from interior to exterior and engines, it all has a little bit of China in it. Cause if they were not, no one could afford a fucking vehicle if it was all American. No company wants to pay big Labor costs.
i don't get why all these people are like oh a dodge could have done that and all this bullshit when that has nothing to do with anything i never said it couldn't
Im suprised it got out going foward. And btw Duramax is good and so are the trucks they put them in. Cummins is overated, all the ones ive seen have been junk heaps that are only good if they have chips and other mods

it was not anymore buddy plus the just upgraded the allison transmission
petorian1 2 years ago 2
Really there is no such thing as a 8v91
And a 8V92 is a fucking two stroke so I find that very hard to believe
no to mention it displaces 12.2 liters and the duramax is only 6.6
kevinl23 2 years ago
totally agreed some fucking idiots. ford is apparently coming out with a new diesel, for the 2011 superduty. not made my international

I love their symbol, they're alot smarter than they look over @ ford... Atleast they circled the problem ;)

This comment has received too many negative votes show
chevy X'd their problem, ford has their circle of approval on the front of the trucks.

I think that Chevy is really cool. It must be good at mudding! In the snow, you should put chains on the tires and a plow! That would be really cool.
bigbauer9 3 years ago
yea but the only thing is that it doesnt snow in Miami, lol
