  • Love her makeup

  • 7 years ago i was in Middle school going through my led zep worship phase and i listened to diamanda's collab with John Paul Jones. I remember hating it and her more than anything in the world. Hitler, Stalin, prevailing trends that extinguish individuality, Pigeons; you name it she was at the top of my hate list.

For some reason, now I think she's just lovely. Still hate pigeons though.

  • Balls

  • She could have done a little less shouting and playing on the piano and the lighting could have been darker. As a matter of fact it could have been any other video on youtube and that would have been better.

  • She's an great artist , I love her ,

  • Diamanda over Kate Bush any day for me.

  • I love Diamanda, but she has always reminded me of an evil Kate Bush.

  • i experience real fear and terror when i listen to her. she makes me want to pee my pants then curl up in a ball in the corner.

  • diamanda is totally satanic i adore her!!!

  • kala i gunaika einai ligo apistefti.....

  • omg, she's crazy in the BEST sense of the word!!definetely Not for all!

  • /watch?v=tXKHjQ07QDs

  • Marylin Manson tries to play piano??

Fuck man; at least tune the piano even if you don't know how to play one chord.

  • @nstygatr - smoke pole, much?

  • Diamanda has too much soul for me to take. Much love to this passionate woman and the work she does.

  • Amazing voice Yoko Ono would kill for.

  • I cant believe this is the thrill is gone by b b king....maybe it's the thrill is gone wrote by the antichrist ehehe

  • My baby just started crying.

  • Kai alles perasan klimaktirio alla ayto paei poli... Kalh anarosh.!!!

  • da hell...

  • 277 likes this and 29 doesn't? Did the Obama supporters go to Poland for this concert, The audience has to have the same mentality. I can't believe anyone actually would listen to and like this unless their life was threatened if they didn't. It is ridiculously pathetic without any artistic talent whatsoever. If she has any, then she needs to quit hiding it. You fans can criticize me for my comment to which I'm sure you will. But, I've heard cat fights that sound better than that. Unbelievable.

  • @twilightzonetom I agree with you! She's horrendously bad and it amazes me how people can like it.

  • @twilightzonetom Well it looks like we have another doltish neanderthal whose I.Q likely hovers around room temperature. Diamanda's music isn't for morons such as yourself who have no musical background, but for people who have something called intelligence. I think it's time for you to get some education , and I'll be your teacher . My first point have to make about Diamanda's talent is her quite obvious vocal virtuoisity

  • @twilightzonetom which any singer in the world would die to have. Her voice spans four octaves and she has an unbelievable technique which allows her to prodouce any vocal technique she wants. You could try listening to Wild Women with Steak Knives, but I'm sure it would frighten your dumb ass. Her other obvious skill is her amazing piano skill, which rivals any pianist alive. If you're going to criticize such a talented and smart individual such as Diamanda at least prepare a good argument ,

  • @twilightzonetom not " I've heard cat fights that sound better than that." It makes you sound incredibly stupid which probably isn'y very hard for such an obviously "special" person. The point isn't to sound "beatiful", but to articulate human emotion. Before you comment on something you don't know about I suggest you get an I.Q lift and aquaint yourself with reality.

  • @PanoptikonDiamanda

I don't particularly agree with twilights point of view. But I do have a problem with

    your reply.

You accuse him of being a "dumb ass" and claim he has no I.Q. when

your horrible grammar and choices of slang clearly limit yourself intellectually.

I'm sick of people getting on here and cannot debate without cussing at each other or

    directly insulting someone.

  • I think twilights choice of words like "cat fat" is pretty harsh.

I personally am a fan of Diamanda.

She is a fantastic singer but this clip just shows a little bit of her abilities.

And it's not always about singing properly either.

It's about giving off a feeling and putting emotion into it.

And that's what she projects when she's performing, tons of emotion.

I'm looking forward to seeing her perform in person.

I've heard her stage show is amazing.

But please everyone, refrain from insults.

  • @evonallen Well I'm 14 years old and my I.Q is 184.

  • @PanoptikonDiamanda *Smiling* :) I take it that you are a fan of Diamanda....cool, keep listening to her, and other artists, that dares to be themselves 100%, because there is a lot to learn from people like that, and also, a lot of inspiration to get from their personalities and their artistic work.

    :)

  • @twilightzonetom I`m not gonna criticize you at all, but my opinion is that this is not about performing to make people go, wow what a classically beautiful voice she`s got. This is about a person expressing herself, not really thinking about perform, not about pleasing the crowd. I think that she thinks that, those who likes to see someone express themselves in the way she does, with total honesty, all feelings out there, they will enjoy going to her concert. I love it :)

  • one foot in crazy land, one foot in genius land, and truly unique......love her!

  • omg how old is she ? shes like a mummy.

  • waste of skin

  • she looks like the guy from kiss

  • Awesome. She and Hawkins... perfect marriage.

  • I have been going to see her for years in NYC and have never been disappointed.Blown away, mesmerized, generally shredded.

  • @jackdelawack ur lucky i wish i could see her live

  • lord that is just caterwauling in between messing up the thrill is gone

  • clever beast!I love your voice Diamanda

  • clever beast I love your voice Diamanda!

  • ...

  • Eight ))))))))))))))

  • I saw her twice in the 90s, she's pretty wack!

    But amazing musically. And artistically.

She sings like 8 octaves or something xD

One part of the show she was standing there naked with "blood" all over her and the stage full of smoke machine. I was on first row, it was pretty scary!

Then on part 2 she was in a suit playing full classical stuff at the piano. Pretty amazing musician!

  • Is there really anyone whois listening to this?

  • @onkelbolle I'm listening to the whole playlist. So, yes.

  • Jesus

  • wow.....

  • I love Diamanda Galas, but sometimes she's fucking TERRIFYING.

  • That's what makes her so loveable. Duhh!

  • @Rhademanthus Yes

  • Feb 13th 2010 in Mexico City

  • @vikh666

  • when and where will be in mexico

  • Finally the sweet poisoning diva is comming to Mexico!!! I'll be there!!!!!

  • Ok, that's one thing to do with a range like that.

  • If not jazz, similar to it for it's feeling of freedom expresion and emotion.

    (srry my english)

  • My lady parts are in perfect synchronicity and agreements to this song

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder what kind of music she listens to. I think it would be interesting to thumb through her CD and record collection. By the way...... calling this jazz may be a little bit of a stretch. Stylistically, jazz surely has the broadest of definitions.

  • "Jazz is the last refuge of the untalented. Jazz musicians enjoy themselves far more than anyone listening to them does."

    But Diamanda is pretty cool.

  • only because they enjoy playing the music more then they would listening to others doesn't mean they are untalented. The refuge for the untalented is MTV in my opinion.

  • Could you please tell me who said the quote you used?

  • There's a similar rendition of "Thrill" live that appears on her cd "'MALEDICTION and PRAYER"

  • Menopause personified. Brilliantly intense performer.

  • The truth is that I don't really agree with you, but your comment made me laugh so hard that my sister asked me if there was something wrong. Something besides this music, I mean. But I like Diamanda, so I don't care.

  • Frightening!

  • Who originally performes it?

  • Peggy Lee

  • I think this is the first time a performer has actually scared me! Brilliant though, would love to see her live...but I would probably try and sit near the back!

  • @ButterfliesAndThings

I'd want to be there by the piano.

  • i'm in love

  • She is the BEaST!

  • Unbelievable.Gamati.Apistefti.Aplisiasti.Empiri.Piramatiki.

    Trelameni.Petameni.Skotomeni.

  • wow, diamanda galas and b.b. king, my favourite b.b. king song too!

she's fucking crazy! in a good way.

  • I would much rather, Sadly, Desperately, Go to Hell With Her than To Heaven or something like it, With Chan Marshall..idk

  • This should be the live tour that has been published on Malediction And Prayer album. The two songs are "The Thrill is Gone"(the first one) and "My World is Empty Without You"(the second one). She's always wonderful...she's The Singer

Verkannt. The Best.

  • I love this woman!

  • At 3;28 it looks like a fly came out of her mouth!?!?!?

  • LOL, you're right

  • I stuck with this clip all the way through, it really grew on me...capital G Gothic blues

  • i had the same! accually quite good stuf

  • @philipsmog: I love that phrase - Gothic Blues. :) I love the intensity of her piano playing. My youtube clicking led me from Joanna Newsom -> Michelle Shocked --> George Harrison --> Nina Simon --> Diamanda Galas. Best to end the night on a (very) high note!

  • After beginning on a VERY low one.

  • LOL. but.. but... aren't harps and Olive Oyl vocals just soooo "in" right now? =)

  • :^P

  • She is one of my favourite blues singers and such a great pianist. I think she's using a German operatic style of singing called Schrei, which means "shriek" understandably I'd say. These songs ("The Thrill is Gone" and "My World is Empty Without You") are on first album you should get, Malediction & Prayer. Some should be avoided by the uninitiated to say the least. Lol... This could be called her closest to commercial material, except for maybe the album with Led Zep's John Paul Jones.

  • who is she.......

  • She is the goddess!

  • thrill is gone

  • what was the name of the first song?

  • Comment removed

  • I think she's evil

  • wait, this isn't avant guard? Then what is?

  • id shoot my toilet if it sounded lilke that lol

  • So you don't like her, is that what you are saying??

  • Es impresionante y es excelente.

  • This woman is so amazing. She is a true artist.

  • she's wierd but I love her rendition of "Without you"

  • the combination of both songs- genial !

  • good lord! :D

  • the diva's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love u !

  • i'd probably even go for a record of her doing instrumental piano... i bet she could play the fuck out of scriabin and racmaninov (sp ?)

  • Exactly. Just like the Black Dick you wish your husband had.

  • You know something? I was wrong to insult You like that, Shredder. I apologize. I know that Diamanda is not for everyone, and she might be "shitty" to You, and that's fine, because everyone has his opinion on just about everything, no? But I do love her craziness, her insane isolation, her translation of the blues, and I guess I was just being inanely defensive when I posted my reply to You. She sure as hell doesn't need me defending her, and I just want to say I'm sorry for overreacting.

  • wow

    you got balls

  • qutoobe old thing that was an impressive humility, but before you quite sell the return ticket, please remember these divine words from miss m: fuck 'em if they can't take a joke. still, take up your black cock thing with my therapist. or his denitist.

  • ok now this is what i call impressive.

  • No, you could never, even if you truly wanted to.

  • She's a total nutjob Diva, and a genius one too!

  • Absolutely amazing. You have no idea what singing is until you hear her sing. You have no idea what live performance is until you see her perform. When you go to the shop to buy her CDs look for the Diamanda Galas genre because there's nobody else like her.

  • OMG!!!!! How she manages to mix jazz/opera/alternative music so easily.....You gotta have respect for that woman...and I do, for over 20 years now!!!!! Love her, love her, love her!!!!!!!

    D I V I NA !

  • Every time I see Diamanda Galas in concert, I fall in love with Her all over again.

  • If I was a piano, would fear her.

Beeing a person I'm amazed by her expression.

Beeing a man, she scares me a little.

  • couldn't agree more :P
