  • @burnstagger I hope you have an e-mail accout.. HOTMAIL as it is known was created by an Indian.. and dont forget that headphone you only aspire to buy but cant because its very expensive, BOSE system was invented and founded by an Indian.. INTEL chip was invented by an Indian.. there are lots of them.. Now answer me you ignorant fool.. What did Americans invent before 1700s? not even Zero, because that was invented by Indians in some BC... We were the best at one time, we'll be the best again.

  • @ritesh22del Another retarded Indian lied to in his schools. From Wikipedia:

"The ARPANET computer network made a large contribution to the development of email. There is one report that indicates experimental inter-system email transfers began shortly after its creation in 1969.[23] Ray Tomlinson is generally credited as having sent the first email across a network, initiating the use of the "@" sign to separate the names of the user and the user's machine in 1971".

  • @burnstagger Another Ignorant American Saving his dying countrie's ass..Wikipedia for BOSE:Founded in 1964 by Amar G. Bose, the company operates 5 plants, 151 retail stores (as of October 20, 2006) and an automotive subsidiary at Stow, Massachusetts.

  • @ritesh22del Ok so Bose 50 years ago? What else? Not the x86 line, not USB, not everything else you people claim. Out of 10-20 million Indiots to come to America since 1964 all we get is one speaker company? The other 9,999,999 of them have drained us dry. A huge net loss for America. As for dying, India is #1 in the world in AIDS, disease, poverty, and malnutrition - even higher than Africa. You wish USA was dying. We're still #1 and always will be. Too bad for you.

  • Look at the beet gut on this fat slob. He looks like a Vaudeville magician up there. Snake oil conman from the Open Sewer called India. You become what you import, in this case, garbage.

  • @burnstagger burn mutha fcuka burn.....

  • @ritesh22del Hotmail was a web based email system which had been around in universities for decades. Some Indian just grabbed the idea and sold it to MS and said he invented it.

  • @ritesh22del From Wikipedia: "The telephone earpiece such as the one pictured at the right was common at the beginning of the 20th century. Headphones originated from the earpiece, and were the only way to listen to audio signals before amplifiers were developed. The first truly successful set was developed by Nathaniel Baldwin, who made them by hand in his kitchen and sold them to the U.S. Navy."

  • @ritesh22del Wikipedia artiel on x86: "The architecture was defined by Stephen P. Morse with some help and assistance by Bruce Ravenel (the architect of the 8087) in refining the final revisions. Logic designer Jim McKevitt and John Bayliss were the lead engineers of the hardware-level development team[12] and William Pohlman the manager for the project".

Did you see any Indian's name mentioned there? Moron.

  • Amazing sir. The Truth as it is. Why don't you come back to India?

  • Angus Madison is a Brit - probably a Brit banker. The same people you claim robbed India. He's also a communist since "In 1953, Maddison joined the Organisation for European Economic Cooperation (OEEC)". Whenever you hear the world COOPERATION know that it really means COMMUNISM. As in Americans who worked hard to invent every new industry cooperating in giving them away to lazy 3rd world countries such as India. THAT kind of 'cooperation'. Of course you think he's great because you GET.

  • @burnstagger then why do you GIVE? you ppl are so generous..

  • The last time we heard this same argument that Fraudhwa is giving was in 1998 when the US economy was booming. We Americans agreed to open our doors and total economic collapse ensued. And now we're supposed to believe that if we bring in more 3rd worlders another collapse won't ensue again? Logic says quit doing things that have failed in the past.

  • Umm, Burnstagger is working. I know him. Funny how people always assume that critics of globalism are local failures. Maybe they're just altruists who want a prosperous America for other Americans, not just themselves.

  • @SorellaSotero . I did not make an assumption. Go back a few comments and you'll see burnstagger say that he constantly gets rejected , any job he interviews for .

  • And again, I understand what it must feel like to have your job outsourced or to have manufacturing facilities set up in China by big American companies. But as a percentage of the total workforce H1B visas are held by only 0.07 percent of them. Does not seem like a lot to me. Besides, many of them are the best and brightest from around the world. I want to see America continue to do well for a very long time.

  • Read Angus Maddison(Economic history of the world) . India and China were the richest countries for 17 of the last 21 centuries. And Goldman Sachs and many economists say China and India will regain that status in the coming years. America of course will continue to do well. Are you telling us you know more than all of them ? Find a job will you ... You won't have time for these baseless rants then. An idle mind is a devil's workshop.

  • @rahulbhara1 If India and China were the richest countries for the past 17 of 21 centuries then why didn't you invent anything during that time? You couldn't even make it across the ocean which is why Europeans got to America first. You were never rich, that is a myth taught to you in your schools so that your governments don't have to admit that it was they who ruined your countries by following communism for 50 years. You are poor because you don't PRODUCE.

  • @rahulbhara1 And idle mind is the devil's workshop and that is why India is HELL ON EARTH.

  • Ethnicity is not a determinant of IQ. Indians and Chinese make up much of the Phd output in top schools in America(in the fields of science and engineering) . There are some amazingly intelligent white people and there are others who are rather dumb-witted like burnstagger. Burnstagger can't find a job but he goes on mad rants about indian and chinese people. America has historically been very good at weeding out such people. Hail America.

  • @rahulbhara1 Studies suggest otherwise. Formal studies have been done that correlate race and IQ. Must of the Asian PhD output in US schools got that way by cheating their way through. Google "Duke Asian cheating scandal". Name the new company or inventions created ENTIRELY by Indian or Chinese immigrants without help from Americans. They don't exist. I don't think I could have stayed employed in Silicon Valley for 16 years if I was "dumb-witted" (I think you mean dimwitted. Learn English).

  • @burnstagger your argument is childish.. ENTIRELY by Indian/Chinese? So can you show one well-known company in Silicon Valley run WITHOUT Indians?

  • @prabupsgit88 Yes, it's called Apple. Apple CLOSED their R&D in India in 2006. And most of their developers are still Americans. Watch WWDC this week and tell me how many Indians you see there giving presentations. Apple not coincidentally is booming and is about to become the most value US company. They are already the most valuable tech company in the world. All the other SV companies being "run" with Indians are dying or dead. Sorry you lost the argument.

  • @burnstagger MOST are still Americans. So is Apple the only booming TECH company in US. The most powerful country has only one booming TECH company? And I read your comment about MSFT going from 110$->25$. At no point in the history MSFT was valued 110$.

  • @prabupsgit88 Yes, Apple is the only booming tech company in the US. Sun just died, and MS is in the process of dying. Thanks to Indians. You must not live in the US else you would know the tech economy here has been DESTROYED (by indians). In 1998 MSFT was $100/share. Indians have taken it down to $25/share. Good job. PC market is actually shrinking now while Mac and iPad markets are booming. Sorry, you lost again.

  • @burnstagger i dont agree. how about google and facebook? and apple is booming only because of steve jobs.. and everyone knew what happened when he left apple. Microsoft was never 110$. NEVER. I'm sure you know about Indians in NASA. No wonder if you blame NASA's failed missions on Indians. What I see from your comments is only HATE towards us!!

  • @prabupsgit88 It doesn't matter whether or not you AGREE. What matters is what is FACT. Facebook was founded and is run by an American - Zuckerberg. Google had one American co-founder Larry Page and Sergei Brin came to the US when he was 6, grew up here, and was educated here. Apple is booming because it is fill with mostly Americans - we're the ones who built the IT industry long before you ever got here. Microsoft was $100 in 1998. NASA is going down the tubes also now BTW.

  • @burnstagger You seem to have come from $110 to $100. When are you coming down to the real 30-40$ range? We are not getting a free ride in US economy. NO ONE is getting a free ride. We are hired and jobs are sent here only because US has some benefits. Don't speak as if you do some charity. Learn to ACCEPT that as every rational human being does. And DO AGREE that there are lot of INDIANS in Google and FB too? Did Google and FB SINK?

  • @prabupsgit88 Not hate, but rather a need to correct your delusions. You're lied to in your schools about Indians' accomplishments. In 1998 before you people began pouring into the US the US economy was BOOMING. I lived and worked in Silicon Valley for 16 years including at Apple and Sony just to name a few. You've probably never set foot in Silicon Valley. What do you know about it? You're delusional. Indians have contributed almost nothing to the world. Please name the contributions.

  • @burnstagger the USB port that you use was found by an INDIAN. Walk into INTEL and you will find Indians everywhere.

  • @rahulbhara1 rahuibhara1 is talking like a Nazi. No wonder Hitler's Mein Kampf is the #1 best-selling book in Indian business schools.

  • Many big companies including microsoft have R&D facilities in India. Indians like America because of its pluralistic nature and democratic institutions which resonate with the ones back home. Most Americans are very welcoming and embrace change. There will always be sore losers like burnstagger(very unamerican I should say), but America will progress :)

  • @rahulbhara1 Yes, that's right - Microsoft has an R&D facility in India and the stock has gone from 110 in 2001 to 25 today. Thanks a lot. You wrecked Microsoft. Apple, however does NOT have ANY R&D in India and Apple is now the #1 US tech company. Coincidence? I think not. Indians like America because jobs are plentiful here and you don't have to worry about getting robbed like you do in India. And you want the training you can get here. Trust me, Americans are fed up with 'change'.

  • @rahulbhara1 WHEN will America progress? Not when Indians are running things. We WERE progresing at warp speed in 1998 until Indolts flooded in and took over. Now we're stagnant, thanks to you. We've been hearing India will be good for us for over 13 years now. When's it going to happen? When were' all 100?

  • The Chinese don't have to 'promote themselves'.

In fact, the DC pols and the thinktanks that sent Vivek Wadhwa, --better known as 'Fraudhwa' in various tech circles-- to this event are now beating the drums of war against China. As they've also been TRYING to trash Apple's successes.

Keep beating that drum 'Professor'.. the market is IGNORING YOU. Keep trying to lure overseas young to become indebted slaves in the far off USA.

Tired forgettable bromides on youtube do not a policy make.

    -DE

  • You gotta admit the GALL of the folks who sent Vivek Wadhwa to this event: The VCs are HUNGRY for 'new blood' in the emerging markets. They are TOO LAZY to go there, why should they? Just have the youngs come to them. It's sucker bait.

Also, wow. The total inversion and lying about China and India. Wadhwa probably got spurned by Apple, so total downplay of the Chinese HARDWARE miracle.

Why is Apple the larger than Microsoft? WHERE are all those iPhones & most PCs made? NOT INDIA. China.

    -DE

  • America benefits from India? It think it's the other way around. Back when Americans were running Silicon Valley the US economy was booming. Now that Indiots and Chinese are running it, the economy is a wreck, the State of CA is going broke. What a disaster you people have created.

  • @burnstagger : And man, get a life. India bashing is not going to do anything for you. India didn't create the rules. Indians didn't . These are just innocent people trying to make the best out of their lives as possible. Stop whining and go learn something new. I hope America stays the most innovative country. I love America.

  • @rahulbhara1 Innocent people my ass. Millions in NASSCOM bribery in DC, NASSCOM hiring Hill & Knowlton to pump "worker shortages" stories into our media, Indiots conducting racial ethnic cleansing of Americans in their own country, attempted takeover of the IT industry, violating Title 8, Section 1182 INADMISSIBlE ALIENS. Stop with the lies, I should have the DHS and ICE trace your IP and see if you are in this country illegally.

  • @burnstagger . And burnstagger, my boy. 25% of start ups in the silicon valley are started by Indians. And also, since you said you were being interviewed by Indians, they must be doing something right to have a job. I recently graduated from an Ivy League and when I start a company, I'll hire you if you are still unemployed :) . Stop India bashing till then :)

  • @rahulbhara1 25% of Silicn Valley startups are started by Indians? Based on what evidence? Fraudhwa's fake phone survey he called a 'study'? Even if they did how many of those startups ever becme profitable? Most of them ride on America's VC $ for 5 years, foreign workers suck all the $ out then they go out of business. America has lost 28 million jobs since you people started coming here. You can't possibly claim you're helping the econ.

  • @rahulbhara1 No, they got those jobs by bribing executives or else threatening them. Or thwy promised better labor at cheaper prices and then got hired but didnt do the work or couldn't. Companies like Peoplesoft, Sun, Quark, all down the tubes along with Microsoft which went from $100/share to $25/share with Indiots working at it. I've got the most current skills in the world and have written 20 commercial software products. What have you ever done?

  • India as a customer? I believe Boeing learned a lesson about that just recently.

  • Another thoughtful discussion from my friend Vivek. Thanks for helping us keep our thinking caps on.

  • If India is the best friend the US has in the east, then the US is in big trouble. We have a saying, "With friends like this, who needs enemies?" America is having an unemployment crisis and needs to stop with the globalism and start taking care of its own. We have hundreds of thousands of people who would jump at the chance to take a low end job and could step in and do such work easily. That's who America needs to be worrying about, not keeping other countries happy.

  • @SorellaSotero : The US is already in big trouble, you knucklehead--deficits burgeoning out of control , weakening dollar, China's rise. The US will never be what it was. China, US and India will have approximately the same share of global GDP by 2035. And globalization is irreversible. American companies will not want it reversed because they know that the future customers are in India and China. 2.5 billion people.

  • @rahulbhara Except that most of the 3rd world still lives on $2/day and you can't build a consumer class on $2/day per person. Besides, there are only so many American-created jobs and India and China are not inventing anything new to sell. So the 150 million American-created jobs can't turn India and China into a consumer class. Besides, American companies won't want globalization once it causes WW3 by Trading WIth Enemies.

  • @rahulbhara The US is not in trouble. Our economy still produces $14 trillion a year - 3 times what China does and SEVEN times what India does. Deficits? Who cares? We have enough wealth to pay them off. Or we just print more $ and pay them off. Deficits are irrelevant. What matters is what you produce - which in the case of India is nothing (except deception and fakery). Tell me genius, where is India's commercial operating system? HAHA!

  • @rahulbhara China and India are both huge bubbles waiting to pop. Don't mistake mere stolen wealth transferrence from the USA to India and China as "growth". Of course you're 'growing' 10 million Indiots in the USA siphoning our wealth and sending it home. You started in the mud puddle so you had nowhere to go but up. Let's see how well you "grow" once you all return home now that we have restricted visas. LOL!

  • @SorellaSotero : Also, who else do you have in the east ? China ? ha ha . Pakistan ? ha ha

  • @rahulbhara Whom do we have in the east? Japan moron. Do you even know world history or did they lie to you about that in your non-accredited IIT schools also? You must be one of those Indiots who believes all software comes from India even as Apple is eating everyone's lunch.

  • @SorellaSotero Japan is America's best friend in Asia. India is just pretending to be long enough to get our $ and our tech and then attack us. These people hate us.

  • Please do not equate *big* indian IT companies, referred in the ppt -Infosys, Wipro et al, making money mainly through Annual Maintenance Contract, to research. Mostly they are low end jobs, jobs which no developer worth this code really wants to do. Me being part of one of those big companies agree,we do some cool projects, but as i said majorly it is low end work. And the scarier part is i do not see any kind of *vision*. So, please take what the companies show you with a sack of salt.

  • @raghavan81 There is no such thing as a big Indian IT company - only big Indian con companies pretending to be IT companies. They operate like rackteers - fake workers with fake degrees who come to USA to get trained by Americans who invented IT. Then they take the jobs, can't do the work and all the American companies collapse. Name one commercial software product to come out of India. Where is the commercial Indiot OS? Doesn't exist. Frauds.

  • Besides, India is perhaps the most pro-America country in all of the east. They conducted a survey all over Asia and found India was the most pro-America. Dude, I truly understand what it must be like to have foreigners take away your jobs. But that is globalization. America preached this to other countries for decades. People in America will just have to go one notch up and upgrade their skills. In return, you have a 2.5 billion people market .

  • @rahulbhara1 India is the most pro-American country in Asia? No way. Japan is. No one believes your propaganda. India hates the white west due to your historical hangups with Britain. That's why you animals rape so many white female western tourists every year in India. Google "Japanese woman raped in India". Give it up. No one believes your lies anymore.

  • @SorellaSotero. I love American workers and America. You have no idea what you are talking about .

  • @rahulbhara & his ikl: Typical Indian insults. Truth is, the haters of American workers have no idea about our lives.

  • @SorellaSotero Indiots will always claim to love America. But they only love America because there is $ here to be plundered. When it comes time for a white American to be hired and Sanjay is sitting behind the hiring desk in Silicon Valley, I can guarantee you the Amercan won't get the job. Then Sanjay goes and whines to Congress that he can't find enough American workers and needs to bring more of his countrymen in. We know you are conducting a takeover. Stop lying.

  • India and China put together are 2.5 billion people. The Indians and Chinese who go to America will help design and market american products in their home countries . And who benefits ? America. India and China would be glad to take all the educated and highly skilled works. But guess what, you'll still be unemployed(sorellasotero and burnstagger)

  • @rahulbhara1 India and China are 2.5 billion people and none of them have created even one new industry or product for the world yet. We keep hearing about innovation in Asia but where re the products? Meanwhile every great industry invented by the American genius has been stolen and taken over by retarded Asians. Even China's bullet train was designed and built by Siemens Germany. You ain't designing jack. All you're doing is stealing what others worked for.

  • @burnstagger : Shows how little you know about the world. India and China were the richest two countries for 17 of the last 21 centuries. Japan also grew in a similar way. Most of the car manufacturing went from Detroit to Japan. And I'm sure there were people like you with redundant skills back then who were whining . Indian people are truly the most pro-American people in all of the east. It is the only other pluralistic democracy. All hail India and America.

  • @rahulbhara1 India and China were never rich. I don't know where your history came from. Induits didn't even know how to build ships and China couldn't build any that could cross the oceans. That's why whitey got to America first. You've been lied to in your schools boy. Next you will be telling us all software comes from India IQ81. What exactly do you mean by 'redundant'? You seem to forget Americans created IT, you tried to copy us, therefore it's you who are redundant.

  • @rahulbhara1 You just like America because there is $ here. You losers latch onto us winners like leeches until you suck us dry, which is what you have done. India is not a democracy. The price of oil is still set by the gov't you Soviet fraud. I'm still waiting for you to tell us the name of India's commercial operating system. Why won't Apple offshore its work to India? BECAUSE YOU PEPOLE DESTROY EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH.

  • @rahulbhara1 Talent is not a commodity. If it is, then why don't we pay CEOs $40K a year as well? Or everyone for that matter? What you mean is cheap lazy labor is a commodity. Some workers are better than others and some produce more and better than others. Apple CLOSED their R&D in India in 2006 and Apple is BOOMING. They hire only the best talent regardless of cost. Not Sanjay the former motel owner who thinks he can produce great software.

  • @rahulbhara1 America benefits? 9% unemployment, record deficits (because Asians with their cheating ways don't pay taxes when they come here), depression of wages, biggest recession in 70 years, economic decline. Yep, America sure benefits. Meanwhile Asians made off with all of USA's wealth without producing anything. Must be nice to get paid for not doing your job.

  • You are probably one of those fat Americans with redundant skills ranting about how Indians are taking away your jobs. Go learn some new skills! Labor is a commodity like any other. You either differentiate yourself or you get treated like a commodity. That is capitalism! Your country has been preaching it to other people for decades now.

  • @rahulbhara1 I weigh 165 lbs and am more fit than most lazy Indiots. I spent 16 years of my life in Silicon Valley at companies like Apple and Sony creating new products before you people ever saw a keyboard. You must mean redundant skills like iPhone or OS X development. No current skills there, right? Yet the Indiot hiring manager on the other side of the desk turns me down for the job EVERY SINGLE TIME. You can't say I'm not qualified as I have authored 20 commerical products.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes. Indian brainpower and working hands are badly needed in India. India has staggering problems and needs both manual and mental might to solve its own infrastructure and social problems. Instead of coming to America for fast money, let these 'best and brightest' of India make their homeland truly shine.

  • @SorellaSotero Indian brainpower - average IQ of 81 and unable to produce its own native commerical operating system or any commercial sofwtare products anyone wants to buy. Some brainpower. Americans invented IT Indiots can't even build enough toilets to stop from crapping on the ground. No wonder the world econ is such a mess. We never should have let Indiots in.

  • My bad. This is one of those 'independent' TEDs (with the x) that is 'supervised' by the elites to make them feel good. Same difference though. Some other things:

I like how Vivek compares the Indians to the Japanese, trying to latch on to their success story.

THEN he goes on to diss the Chinese over 'copying'.. which is what the Japanese DID to get their success. The methods he describes are ripped from when Peter Drucker went to Japan. And they adopted/copied/learned his US mgt methods.

  • The other thing to remember is the audience for this thing: mostly pretentious new media snobs & VCs who can afford it: about $6000 to attend in 2010. Vivek is just telling these folks what they want to hear in his fast-talking used car salesman way.

Google "Elitist Sarah Lacy Claims TED Is Too Elitist" by 'get off my internets'...a funny read and all too true.

The real question is, who paid for Vivek to appear at TED? Why is he pitching cheap labor & old Peter Drucker propaganda to VCs?

    -DE

  • @drunkeneconomist Except that now the VCs are going broke too after years of throwing billions down the Indian rathole. They'll be asking for a bailout from the American people next. When are we going to learn that we don't need people who can't even pick up the trash in their own country.

  • @drunkeneconomist NASSCOM paid for him to be there. Just like they buy PR "news" stories in our media saying Americans are too stupid or there's a shortage of labor.

  • I have to say that I'm REALLY IMPRESSED with how Vivek Wadhwa discounts empirical data from China & the US that shows that while both countries graduate & employ the same PROPORTION of engineers, "the figures lie."

He is correct that US employers do not care about degrees. It's all down to price and a race to the bottom. But this whole 'US employers are HIDING Indian "Innovativion" crapola? Please.

I do recommend that EVERYONE see this 'talk' -- to see how an India, Inc. lobbyist presents.

  • Why do we need to bring in skilled foreigners? Sure they form companies, but most don't hire Americans. Why don't we just go back to training and retraining our own people? Instead, we've spent the last decade and more flushing our native brains down the toilet. Immigrants aren't the answer any more - America is full. We need to stop squandering our own people. For those going back - that's where they should have been all along, building up their own countries. Make room for Americans in America

  • @SorellaSotero Silicon Valley and the US economy were booming when Americans were running it just 13 years ago. Look at the economy now. We don't need foreign people. Americans are the best workers in the world. Mass immigration to the USA has been a collosal failure. Why do we keep pushing for something that keeps failing? These people come here to get trained by us and harvest our once-great economy. They just want the $. And with 2.4 billion of them there is no limit to their hunger.

  • 3rd world workers destroyed Sun, PeopleSoft, are in the process of destroying Microsoft, oh yeah, and Apple still hires mostly Americans and closed their R&D in India in 2006.

  • One company Fraudhwa founded failed and the other he got fired from because the VCs didn't like the company losing money. Those who can do, those who can't...

  • We've been bringing in millions of 3rd worlders for over 13 years and look at the US economy. Americans built Silicon Valley long before 3rd worlders ever came here. Bill Gates & Steve Jobs were both college dropouts, Fraudhwa. Name one new invention or industry to come out of China or India. Keep dreaming, ain't gonna happen. Creativity, not math and science are the keys to innovation. Of course we now have competitors - we've been training them in the USA for the past decade.

  • US has brought the best and the brightest as other countries were unable to provide as good as opportunity as US provided. But now the time has changed, in other part of the world good enough opportunities available making people think twice to go outside. Check H1B visa status for the last two years. US is finding hard to bring people in even when good job prospects are available for skilled people.
