We used to sing the chorus in the car on family trips. This along with Monster Mash, Itty Bitty String Bakini, and One Eyed Purple People Eater. THANKS for the memories!
The artist is Daddy Dewdrop, not Dr Demento. The song came out in 1971 and was written by Dick Monda (who called himself Daddy Dewdrop) for the "Sabrina and the Groovy Ghoulies" cartoon.
@asiafire64 this one's been on doctor Demento alright, but Asia fire is EXACTLY right! the first time I heard this was on the groovy ghoulies in about '72 or so, In fact it brings to mind the image of their "Frankenstein monster" singing it. That, And (get the "old folks" branding iron hot) Is it just me or does the band "Wet Willy" (Keep on smiling) sounds like fat Albert and the Cosby kids?!
The Confederate flag is a part of our history, and a symbol of lessons we should never forget... like have a cannon factory or 10 when you declare civil war, and that the french really know how to flub up the better outcome for Americans.
Ya no duh. i think it's caz I made the Video for my boyfriends Brother. He likes the flag, so get over it. This is just a fun video that I made for him for i thought it was funny. Didn't your mother ever teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Oh and if you really want to know who I am, I think you would see I'm a Female, and song is made for friend. Why don't you read, before you comment.
actualy i would realy like you to riddle me why would i listen to a whore who beats children just for the fun of it? (aka my biological mother) and you have my appology for i assumed you were the person in the vid. but it is a sweet thing of you to make a vid for him but the flag could have been used in a little better taste. just my 2 cence.
I just love this I used to sing this when I was like 7 years old way back in like hmmm1973 or so? When was this song made does anyone know? TY for this posting of the song
Ok I was wrong my sister said it was like 72 or 71, I was too young. Did not think I could sing then.. Well, I still cannot sing.. My sister was laughing when I played this song. Thank you for the download soo much
daddy dewdrop & the groovie ghoulies were one and the same. the artist who did the song did not want to be associated with a sat.morn cartoon so he sang the song under the assumed name of "daddy dewdrop"! Boring trivia "101"!

If you're going to sync a video to this song, at least make it partially good, or relevant to the lyrics.

So, what's up with the Confederate Battle Flag in the background? Were you worried that you didn't look redneck enough?

Perhaps the video would be better if there weren't so many pictures of the skinny dude.
