if the US can spend 10 to 20 billion dollars a month going after..... i don't know, 2k people, then we can spend at least the same amount for the american people and our economy. most americans don't see it that way because they are too lazy to learn. they are scared and respond: "yes, national security, spend our taxes" to .... to do what? it's like the cold war all over again.
my taxes haven't changed for.......27 years, since my first payroll ck. ohh wait, i recieved a 300.00 refund BS ck eight or nine years ago, wow. people clap when they hear "raise taxes", eighth grade thinking. i realise it is more complicated than that, but your voters do not. "jot your ideas down", in other words(because your too dumb to think for yourself), make my job easier.
get off the backs of the private sector and they'll give us innovation? Uh huh. Like mezzanine collateralized debt obligations and tranches. innovation is going to get us OUT of this slump? Wall St left to its own devices got us INTO this slump!
Oh, Pitts knows how to pander to insular Lancaster and Chester counties.
Without government stimulus spending, 2nd quarter 2010 GDP would have been roughly HALF of its already subdued growth rate. The stimulus is propping up a weak economy. Thank you, Democrats. You can evidently occasionally do some things right.
The single largest causes of the federal deficit are the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the Bush tax cuts. Further down the list, you have the cost of cleaning up the business crash enabled by Republican deregulatory mania and almost religious belief in the wisdom and goodness of markets. The budget was balanced under Clinton. So don't go blaming the deficit on the Obama Administration. Pitts has proved himself to be a party-line ideologue. I'm sorry, but that's what the record shows
now, i have some respect for a few of the elected chumps up there in DC(congress or senate). i would not waste my time commenting about any other.
