I have almost forgotten what they looked like at that age.. both such handsome men ... But I love Kenny it his older salt and pepper years more... Thanks for posting ..
I think BJ is just about the the sweetest thing I have ever seen. His voice is so special. He has been under-rated for years. He should still be right up there at the top !!
Wow great combination of master vocalists, and a well written Burt Bachrach classic that isseldomed played anymore. This was fun to watch and easy to listen to!5 Stars!
Great song! Wow, didnt realize this was Kenny Rogers, He dont look good here and now! He looked better in the Late 70s early 80s with white hair and beard.
These two harmonise exceptionally well and both have unique qualities in their singing style and delivery. BJ has more range and technical brilliance and KR makes up for some of that with his subtle country style and smooth vocals. Great clip! thx
When the music wasnt SO loud BJ sounded fantastic! He has a soft mellow voice that can hit high & low notes but trying to get over that volume wasnt working.I wasnt trying to pigeonhole KR, I just think of him as country, I really don't recognise him here by his looks or voice cos both got a WHOLE lot better!I think BJ had a better p surgeon I hope KR sues the &^ out of his and pray his good looks return cos nobody can say he wasn't handsome!I pray we hear them sing for MANY years to come!!!!!!!
More often than not, they and others - those extraordinary enterteiners who created the very universe of entertainment - remain as they first were, as they've taken our hearts first time so long ago in the kernel of ourselves, untouched by wordly adversity. Some say they grew older. I hear that but deep in my soul, they're still young.
It has been the same length of time for them both!! BJ has aged much better I agree, he looks almost the same, Kenny had baby pudge here shows no wrinkles, BJ has never let anyone smoke around him during his performances ect. hence part of the keeping of the looks. Lol, as far as singing, BJ's voice is intact, Kenny's sounds old now, as far as career, BJ didn't go mainline country like Rogers, Rogers has a country voice, BJ has a sing anything voice.
Rogers has the most diverse voice of the two and even now I still think he is the better singer. It is a voice better suited for Country, but works well in pop, rock, jazz, folk, etc. To pigeon hole Rogers as just a country singer is wrong, as he is much more than that. I have seen BJ live in recent years, as I have Rogers, and to say his voice sounds the same as it did in the 70s as it does now is not true. Neither does Rogers, but he is still great.
LOL, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on our ears perseption! Kenny is a great singer, actually , I think his voice got a lot better than it is here. I think of the song "Lady" in particular, my fav. of his. I haven't heard him live and I know that makes a big diff. On tv and live the sound systems can make a lot of diff. I know a couple times in the last BJ concert he sounded 'off' in spots, later I realized the changing of the band members the music was way too loud for his voice
Thank you for this!! LOL<kenny, should pay to get himself out of this one, Perfect BJ Voice on this, you are the King to me BJ, Elvis never had anything on you, he made the mistake sadly that fame brings, I am glad you didn't and I still go to your concerts any chance I can get. He still sounds the same ya'll!! Nobody can touch his velvet voice.
This song was so under played compared to B>J>'s other stuff(Raindrops,etc)..but without question an unbeleivable treasure from 1970...listening to this can only make someone happy
Nice to hear this original version yet Elvis put more 'soul'into his version of the BJ Thomas song. That was also funny that if you listened to the Elvis Presley version of wellknow songs like Yesterday,I'l remember you or whatever, he always seem to add more into a song then it' original creator.
They sound great together, however BJ is the real singer.I always thought Kenny Rogers was over rated. If you don't believe me, go to his show, it willbe the most boring concert you will ever see.
incredible!!

I've always been a big Kenny fan so this is intended to be mean spirited - but look at how big his head is.
Also I've seen him without white hair. When you think of him you think of the guy from the 80's trapped in time.
