There have been good muiscians in the past and there will be good musicians in the future...But there will NEVER be another Freddie Mercury. A god amongst men.
@kolovsky08 It was Morgan Fisher not Spike Edney. If you watch the Live at the Bowl DVD or listen to the end of Fat Bottom Girls Live at the Bowl right before Crazy Little Thing Called Love, you will hear Freddie say: Before I give you this wonderful intro, I would like to introduce Mr. Morgan Fisher on the piano, in that wonderul pink...
Freddie....we're still crazy in love with you! No other singer with such talent, charisma and stunning vocals has ever come along to this day! You would have outsang everyone even today! Love you Forever Freddie & Queen!
DAYUM. He's a ridiculously talented singer and pianist, and all the sudden he can play guitar? Granted, its just a few simple chords, but talk about multitalented!
You just know Freddie is still playing his ass off somewhere!
That man was a one of a kind, never been another like him, and never will. I was lucky enough to be young when Queen were hot; I was in 10th Grade the year "Killer Queen" was released. The competition was Maria Muldaur and Olivia Neutron-Bomb, oh yeah!
@Mares2 I love that too! For the first half, I was thinking, "Where is Red Special?!!?" Then, just as you wrote, he walked over all smooth and nonchalant and gets his Red! I tell ya, Brian May is my favorite guitarist!
My only qualm in this version is that the piano tries to outdo everything else in the mix. The piano heard in the Live Aid performance was lower key, still heard, but non-intrusive.
this concert is my favourite concert by them. everything is just so great and freddie looks so truly happy. somebody to love and the introduction in this song is so perfect. i'm just crazy about live at the bowl!!!
@dancequeenhouse You couldn't be more right! It's my opinion too! To the start of the concert until the end of the concert so full of energy, power, jive, and look at the Back Chat performance! It's not the same in the album, because they had given a powerfull sound or ...Well I dont know, it sounds greater than ever!
Me and group of mates are playing this song in my school music show thing, I have to play what freddie plays cos i am so crap at playing the guitar but I am not say freddie crap he grate I am so sad he died befor my time :( but I fill lucky to play his music and sing it :D
He means it in terms of music, that Freddie was the greatest contribution to music, i know john did alot, but his cause was politically, hendrix was just an awesome guitar god, no doubt about that.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
stryder u dont know what the fuck you're talking about dude. john lennon and jimi hendrix were far greater contributers to music, especially rock and roll. Ask any guitarist and they will tell you guitar would not have been the same without hendrix. and im not even gunna get into the influence the beatles had u dumbass.
I said, Freddie "contributed" to music in terms of what he released, Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust, We are the Chapions, Etc. I didnt see Jimi was a bad guitarist, hes my fucken god, i pray that man, as for John, thats the BEATLES, not john, THE BEATLES, johns cause was to stop War and have PEACE. You go ask any guitaristand they'll say Jimi was The God of Guitar but Freddie was a Master when it come to Vocals, Writing and Performing live, read my comment before responding tool
and do some fucken research too you ignorant fuck, Queen has been estimated to have sold over 300 million albums worldwide. Freddie mercury was voted second to Mariah Carey for the Greatest Vocalists of all time Queens performance at Live Aid 1985 was voted the greatest live gig of all time, Jimi at Woodstock being second. I know my music, i know all about John Lennon, Jim Morrison or Jimi Hendrix. I know there past an what they've done, find out your shit before being a fucken dick
I totally agree....don't see why she was number 1 in the first place either....sure, just cause shes got good range an pitch don't make her technically good, Freddie had control, emotion an also knew how to write and play actual instruments unlike her
crazy little think called your mom the slut....... u eat the presidents dikk and ur country voted for a black cunt your a fukhead and soo is the cunt in tthis vidd
Anybody else notice his[Freddie]unusual picking style? I don't think he even uses pick! O_O This ROCKED!!!! Even better than the superb studio recording :D :D :D :D
All four members of the band have to be in the top 10/20 of their instrument(singing in Freddie's case he's better on guitar then he makes out but he's no great on it) that's what was so amazing about them. OK John Deacon may not have had the flair on the bass say Phli Lynott had but he was solid and atraditionally and almost never made a mistake.
That's definitely not true, fortunately. He is very widely respected amongst musicians (not only rock musicians - a lot of country guys love his playing, for example), and his guitar tone is arguably the most coveted tone in the history of the electric guitar.
Tele Into Vox ac30 gives a very nice overdriven sound. it bo00oo00sts as you can hear, But for the more arpeggio-like second solo he switches back to the Red Special.
he was rated what, #39 by rollin stone? He's way better than that! His guitar work is instantly recognizable - plus, he wrote so many great songs!!!!!
Anyone ever wonder what Freddie Mercury is referring to when he says "don't worry about it" in the middle of this tune? Maybe it's just me but that has caught my attention more than once. That man could sure belt 'em out.
Jim Hutton was a nobody who happened to get lucky. Inherited a fortune from a dying man and then wrote a kiss and tell piece of trash book to get even more money-shame on him.
Hi freddyforever. I know Mary got the bulk of the money and estate but Jim still got half a million pounds-that's enough to live on for the rest of your life I'm sure. My point was, he had enough cash so really didn't need to make more money by writing about Freddie's death as he did in that book.
