just a small question. How do you use ougis? I can't seem to get them to work at all...

You get your character's rage (RG) or that little bar that rises when you attack an enemy to more or about 70%. You then activate a skill (Let's say Zesshouzan, then abter you use that skill, the little diamond will turn pink. press the assigned skill button and the direction and you will get your ougi!)

Reppashou in Abyss is Raging Blast but it uses completely different Kanji so I don't know why they are the same.

The two attacks are not related in any way.

In Abyss, one of the skills Luke can learn from the Skill Books sidequest is called "Demon Fist", even though he uses a sword. In Japanese, Demon Fist and Demon Fang are both called Majiinken

I know it's minor but Senel's Majinken is different. Remember that Senel uses fist.

Ah, I know that the Kanji are different, but weren't they both translated as Demon Fang for the US release? Then again, I might be wrong since I'm going from memory here and I haven't touched Legendia in over a year. Eh, I have to redo this one anyway someday, so I'll try to do better research next time. ^^

I don't play the US versions because I'm from Japan.

I guess the US translation is all messed up because English has no kanji. different kanji means diff meanings. Majinken's ken means sword. So, it can't be demon fang. Senel's ken means fist.

Perhaps translating complex japanese kanji into english is not easy. Because if I translate it fully it would be (majinken = divine demon sword)

You forgot that Luke, Ruca (ToI), and Spada (ToI) can also learn Majinken! Caius (ToT) does too, but do you really want to include Tempest? Kratos and Zelos don't learn Kogahazan, but Spada does. Spada also knows Fuujinken. Just pointing that out to you.

Horyuu Mueiken is my favorite Ougi. ^^

Ah, my apologies. I haven't played Innocence yet (I just won it recently in an auction though, so I'll have it in a couple of weeks ^^). Tempest is in my closet somewhere, and it's probably going to stay there for a good while. O_o I just forgot about the others...it's been close to a year since I've played TotA and about 2 years for Symphonia. That's why I always have disclaimers. =P

The auction was for 4,000 yen which is about $40, but I have to pay the middleman fees and shipping and junk. I have a whole bunch of other stuff coming with it though, so the fees will be spread out pretty thin. To be honest, I was only planning to buy the Voice Adventure DVD, but this person happened to be selling both at a reasonable price, so I bit. ^^

Um, maybe. I have to see how difficult the dialogue is first since it's much harder for me to translate when I don't have a written script. Plus, I still gotta finish the main storyline for Rebirth. ;_; We'll see though. My stuff hasn't even gotten to my house yet, so it's gonna be a minute anyway. ^^

Yeah, I've seen a little bit of it (the part where Veigue is freaking out because he can't find Claire ^^). I just thought it might be easier to understand if I had the sound going through an actual speaker system and everything. Plus I have the world's slowest "high-speed" internet in existence, so it can be a pain trying to view Youtube vids. -_- But yeah, main storyline is definitely getting priority. ^^

Yeah, I had always wondered where those attacks came from before I did this. It's interesting that Veigue uses Muhyoushou though since Loni uses a spear...now I kind of wanna see the original move. ^^

Loni SHOUTS instead of sending a beam with the sword, and loni doesnt use Spears, he uses AXES X3

And there actually was a contest about who was the strongest Tales swordsman on the Tales forum. Veigue ended up being the runner-up to Kratos. ;_;

Veigue is my favourite Tales character. You just can't beat an ice user with a sword, can you? And for the record, that last Ougi was tremendously cool! XD!

Basically Kratos won because a) there were a good number of people who had no idea who Veigue was, and b) Kratos had more "experience" out of the two. And there was some other random nonsense flying around in there too (e.g. the Pentaslash argument >_>). In any case, we need to have a rematch sometime. *nods head*

And it's a good thing that you like Houryuu Mueiken because you'll be seeing a lot of it in the future. ^^

Well, if you ask me, Kratos wouldn't count as a swordsman since he isn't a "pure" swordsman and he has a very limited array of Ougi's.

Veigue, on the other hand, has the coolest techs of a Tales hero bar none (no pun intended... XD!).

And yeah, Horyuu Mueiken is quite simply awesome. I've ended up basing one of the hero of my fangame's techs on it due to its coolness. XD!

The part that took the longest was getting those Talismans since I had to go through Cyglorg's about 5 times to get enough entries in my Battlebook. O_o Besides that though, it wasn't too bad since I use Veigue often. ^^
