you dont lose the power, its just in a different rpm range now. the more back pressure you have the lower rpm range your power will be at, and less pressure makes the power go to a higher rpm range.

Are you positive there is no loss in trq/hp? I have a 5.0 with no cats, so I fear I would lose major trq from alleviating more back pressure.....Thanks for your answer in advance.

@GammaKItty07 from what i understand (i could be mistaken) you dont exactly lose torque, you lose torque lower in the rpm range but thats it. hypothetically lets say the car produces 400ft.lbs at 3500 rpm. with a full 2 1/2" exhaust. If you go with an open 3" exhaust its likely that you will produce less torque at 3500 say 390 however you will produce say 410ft.lbs at 4200rpms. so its not so much that its lost rather its moved elsewhere in the rpm range.

I am planing on putting these on my 5.3 procharged chevy avalanche that has 4:10 gear ratio, shift kit, high stall torque converter, i have a costom duel exhaust but still sounds like a sleeper when it comes to racing, these should give it the sound it deserves when it comes to racing
