its too in tempo if that makes sense, he doesn't use much rubato and I think for this very virtuostic piece it needs that extra emotion

ray chen is the only player that played the high version of the notes at 8:01 (2 versions possible) -that also might have had him gain some points??a pitty small mistake in last second of this part-he is a superb violinist tough and one of my favourits of the competition-totally agree with previous comment-big support for you maestro jiafeng chen!!

No, there is no way that playing "the high version" would score you points. There are major differences between Ray Chen and the other performers. The bowing isn't nearly as smooth in this particular rendition (for example).

great performance...welll sometimes because of the pressure to do good and expectations one can not show his/her true potentials...anyway he was AMAZING....dont get diheartened my dear Jiafeng Chen......I'm sure you'll be there and I'll cheer for you!!! goodluck!!!
