  • I,m not that old but i got to agree the music nowadays sucks compared to this

  • Bob and Randy were way too good for Ozzy.

They should have formed their own band with Ray Gillen, Don Airey and Cozy Powell, name it Blizzard and rule the world of Metal.

Then Ozzy could come back to Sabbath and stop bitching about.

  • @CentraCross Ozzy is the voice of Black Sabbath, noone is too good for him.

  • @Mutahnt Geezer and Tony are also to good for him, post-Sharon anyway.

  • Imagine if Randy Never died what the next albums would of sounded like and guitaring would be way better today cause his sound is beautiful...

  • FIRST TWO BLIZZARD ALBUMS ARE THE GREATEST HARD ROCK ALBUMS EVER....PERIOD!!! THE BITCH JUST HAD TO BREAK UP THIS LINE-UP OVER ROYALTIES. FUCKING FIGURES. GODDAMMITT!!! THINK OF WHAT THE FUTURE COULD HAVE BEEN FOR THESE FOUR GUYS..SAD

  • @jeffromc1966 Well Randy Rhoads died, and he was one of the main reasons why these two albums were so awesome.

  • @hiawatha444

YES! Back in the 80's I'd listen to this so often that my ears would bleed! I agree with you, they should have let that solo run its course for another 2 minutes. Today's music is so utterly pathetic compared to this.

What a sad state that we're in with the music industry?

  • Im only thirteen and i hate this techno shitty "music". THIS is what i call music

  • Got to see BOTH tours and was about 10 ft from Randy each time.

    Still have the pictures!

  • Bob Dailey WROTE both of those records LET THE WORLD KNOW.

    Sharon is a ...

  • @NobbyOlder Where is Bob Dailey nowadays, he was a genious

  • @Mutahnt its Bob Daisley not Dailey :P

  • @NobbyOlder rofl epic fail if ur gonna say someone wrote something please for gods sake get the name right its Bob Daisley

  • This is one of those rare albums that NEVER gets old listening too it!

  • Fuck Sharon!!! No wait - that's why things went wrong in the first place ...

  • That outro solo smokes! Man, this album was so influential on me back in the day. Bob Daisley is the man, he slaps the crap out of that bass!

  • Bob Daisley was phenomenal!!

  • the master of this solo is what you hear tcc. sadly even the engineer is still beating his head up against the wall. randy soloed for another 5 minutes after the song was done

  • I think this has to be one of the Best Randy solos ever my only complaint they should have included the whole solo not just let it fade out at the end there has to be a master tape somewhere with Randy just shredding

  • oz is the man regardless a god of rock

  • Classic shirtless, Japanese demon Oni tattoo showing, clapping his hands over his head and crying "I love you ALL!" Oz!

  • BOB DAISLEY DESERVES SO MUCH CREIT FOR THESE TWO FIRST OZZ ALBUMS. WROTE ALL THE LYRICS BASICALLY. SHARON SHOLD HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED AND PAID HIM HIS DUE and $. MAYBE HE WOULD STILL WRITE A DECENT SONG FOR OZZY. ITS BEEN YEARS SINCE OZZY'S HAD ONE!!

  • bass line is incredible.

  • Hearing old songs like this reminds me of when I was a kid. When life was simple and happy. Wish then was know !! Music scene was jamming for everyone back then.

  • This is the best second solo ever, shorter but better than Iommi's "Lonely is the Word". It takes you places there's no return from. Like a drug I keep coming back for it after all these years. Damn you Randy...

  • @DariusKusanagi i too have the same addiction. and its good.

  • so good, takes me back to a better time!

  • This song is so much deeper than the lawsuits with Sharon's dad, or Bob and Lee. Randy takes us deep into Ozzy's Soul. This is classical metal at it's summit.

  • This song is so much deeper than the lawsuits with Sharon's dad, or Bob and Lee. Randy takes us deep into Ozzy's Soul. This is classical metal at it's sumit.

  • Bob Daisley was the brains behind the bronze!!!!

  • Way too early a fade-out on such a brilliant piece of guitar playing - every note and chord feels fresh and the intensity is still bullding when the producer starts shutting it down - I honestly can't think of a better closing solo.

  • God Bless Randy Rhoads...

  • This is when ozzy was cool (a long time ago). Much preferred to the newer version bass/drum.

  • One of the best songs ever. Ozzy rules!

  • @Rattshewantsmoney I'd like to see those studies my good man, perhaps then, you will have a valid argument. Not that you did to begin with. I simply stated my opinion. Your initial assault is a bigger sign of small penis syndrome than me correcting your poor grammar.

  • @Rattshewantsmoney in this context, the correct word choice would be *you're*. Thanks for playing. Come back when you learn basic grammar

  • When this album debuted, 500,000 people simultaneously cranked their volume knobs during Randy's outro solo. Why on earth Max, did you let the suits at Epic bring this in early? Randy was just getting warmed up.

  • the best diddy ozzy has ever put out

  • My favorite Ozzy song ever

  • Why do they all have to end with long fade-outs...sigh. Let me hear the solo, please?

  • Ozzy had them rerecorded so he didn't have to split the royalties with them ... he is a scumbag....

  • @vousmonde Ozzy is a great man, douchebag.

  • @vousmonde you should read his biography before you go around accusing people of such things. Ive even met him before. He is a very nice down to earth person. did you know that they kept suing ozzy because of they wanted money and because they wanted to be a band and not be in ozzy's solo career. they were greedy lil twats. sooo think about what you say first

  • @xxnorestforthedarkxx ......Ozzy's biography??....well just how much can you believe about what he say's in it? I mean, after all, he can't even remember correctly the condition of the tour bus he was on after it was hit by the plane, "Then I noticed the entire bus had been bent into a V shape".............wtf....no it wasn't Ozzy....!!

  • Daisley & Kerslake brought that Uriah Heep feel to both of the first two albums. Tommy Aldridge is a badass, but Rudy Sarzo should have just stayed with Quiet Riot. That's where he belongs.

  • ozzy is a scumbag...period....sabbath made ozzy (not the other way around, his contributions were written for him) his addictions and general dirt bag nature cost him his job with them....then he teamed up with more amazeing musicians (again wrote his contributions for him) and with his name recognition, and THEIR musical talent created 2 all time classics...then screwed them out of their credit and royalties want proof? ozzy hasnt had an album worth a shit since randy died, and you know it

  • @godamital At least ozzy hasnt hit the level of "scumbag" to the point where he trolls youtube videos. Just enjoy the damn song man

  • @godamital Ozzy made Sabbath. Simple as that.

  • @TheAngryIntellectual if ozzy wouldnt of put out a flyer then he would of never been anywhere xD so your right

  • @TheAngryIntellectual why u think with dio it ended up Heaven and Hell...lol not Sabbath in the end.

  • @godamital hmmm that just depends on your shitty opinions. i think all of his albums are great. and most of the are older than me. however my favorite album im four years older than it. Ozzmossis came out in 95. but however just because your a singer doesnt mean you take peoples credit for them. did you know that if you write the songs then you get more money? so shut up and learn some stuff. besides if you really knew some stuff. Ozzy wrote many songs for Sabbath back in the day.

  • I have been reading a lot of comments on Ozzy's songs and I am glad to see that people are finding out that Bob was one of the masterminds behind the great songs. Ozzy kept hiring Bob back to write and play so I guess he was doing something right.

  • You can feel Randy in the end solo. It's bloody genius.

  • Man the bass guitar in this is so good

  • The remastered version of this album is shit in comparisson.

  • Randy Rhoads Bob Daisley and Ozzy. The greatest.

  • @shooter71 dont forget lee kerslake

  • high school days

  • freakinn EH

  • yea this one was tricky bro. I take my hat off to ya, u do know your stuff. Ozzy don't remember who did what cause he was high all the time lol.

  • @DNEFF21

What I meant was during a studio session and the artist(s) are in and out its hard to keep track if the record company has a certain musician come in to lay down a track while you are gone. And, yeah Ozzy loved to get a bit high so its not like I'm saying anything about him he wouldn't say about himself ...lol. Ofcourse you never know Bob could have been playing & Ozzy was so drunk or stoned and would call him Rudy for all we know :) Who cares right? Its all great music

  • Comment removed

  • Yea its Rudy Sarzo on bass for this album not Bob Daisley. You should go back and do your homework lol.

  • yea I indeed went and did my homework and found out I was wrong lol so im still learning myself.

  • @85dirtyd

Although it did say this on the album, I heard the actual musicians were not credited. Infact, Ozzy himself said he was unclear whos tracks stayed on what at times. Sarzo was his touring bassist for Diary, but Diasley not only played tracks on it, he co-wrote the songs. Kind of a slap in the face considering he did so much & still not make the liner notes don't you think? Either way I feel both are an important part of Ozzy

  • is it just me or can u hear the bass way louder than anything else?

  • saw these first two albums live.

  • love Randy!!! No one is better.

  • had the old vinyl by jet records and used to wind the volume up to 11 on my old sherwood hi fi just to hear the solo at the end just go on and on and on............

  • That ending is so haunting. The way it just fades into chaos. I would love to hear the stuff that got faded out.....probally another couple of minutes.

  • I do agree that the original is better, but I really could care less about who's drumming, and Rob Trujillo is a MUCH better bassist than Bob Daisley just in skill. I own both the original and the 2002 remastered, and to me, they both sound great. Long live Ozzy, and God rest the gentle soul of the great Randy Rhoads

  • without a doubt, to me, the best song ozzy ever did! it brings to tears to my eyes over 20 years later since the 1st time i heard it! when i ws a kid i thought i was the only one who felt alone and isolated, after hearing this song i knew i wasnt alone anymore!! IM FEELING 3 FOOT TALL, YOU DONT UNDERSTAND, IM FADING AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! and rhandys solo at the end is fucking mindnumbing! thank you ozzy, rhandy, and the rest of the boys for a masterpiece of songwriting and musicianship!

  • thanks

  • This album came out when I was in grade nine. What a great year!

  • Yes 4:06 onward so intense and godlike Im 44yr now and it still touches my core just like back in 85' when I just got in to metal and hearing this for the first time.

  • Don't dog Randy's memory he was and always will be one of the finest guitarist to ever grace us with his phenominal playing hands down.

  • Awesome vocals from Ozzy, very emotive....sublime guitar playing....classic underrated tune...

  • Comment removed

  • shit, they cut out the best part of the solo at the end! why???

  • @YourNameHere136 because you ate sausage. that's why. sausage eater.

  • @Eduardot12345556 fuck you and your lame ass comments about sausages. you comment on all of ozzys videos saying stupid things like "i love justin bieber" do you think anyone fucking cares?

  • good intentions pave the way to hell ha!

  • end solo puts me in a trance every time i hear it im 42 and been playing it all these years

  • Very fitting, no dislikes

Anyone who would be so horrible of a human being as to dislike such a great song should be put in a mental hospital

R.I.P. Randy Rhoads, gone, but as long as a guitar is played, and a song is listened to, will never be forgotten 1956-1982

  • First concert I ever seen... Ozzy and Randy on the Blizzard of Ozz tour.... what memories! Randy is my all-time favorite guitarist!!!!! Most underrated guitarist of all-time! Long live Randy Rhodes....

  • @DougF420 Randy Rhoads was the most under-rated guitarist? I think not. Maybe not as well known, but anyone who plays guitar knows of RR. By today's standards he might be over-rated, but I wouldn't go there. He was the person that inspired me...as well as so many others.

  • @DickLodge68 name some guitar players nowadays that are better than randy rhoads today standards are a joke to the great randy ur a fool

  • @Babric420 It's not some pissing contest. There are plenty of players around today that are great (Vai, Satch, Petrucci, Morse, Aldrich, etc.) Today's standards are far higher then when RR was alive because between Rhoads and EVH...they made the standard. Walk into any music store and listen to kids play today. 13 year olds are completely shredding. It wasn't like that in the early '80s. By your logic, Ray Lewis isn't better than Dick Butkus. Players just get better.

  • @DickLodge68 gimme some names

  • @Babric420 I gave you names...all are playing today..."There are plenty of players around today that are great (Vai, Satch, Petrucci, Morse, Aldrich, etc.)"

  • @DickLodge68 lol ur funny name one song they did beside a dumb ass solo

  • @DickLodge68 but are they better than randy name a song better than crazy train crowley tonight flying high over the mountain i dont know mother earth....... believer,,,,,,,diary of a madman there nothing to randy never heard a song by them but some lame solol that never hit my soul like randy did but idk ur a master idk

  • @Babric420 Well, hold up. You need to realize that Bob Daisley wrote most of the songs you are talking about. RR carried over many of the solos from Quiet Riot into Blizzard and a little into Diary. You went from Rhoads' playing....and now into great songs. That's completely different. Listen to RR on old QR records and you'll see what I mean. Great playing is one thing...song-writing is totally different. RR just added to what Daisley created, add some Ozzy whines and there ya go.

  • @Babric420 And what they came up with is probably the best hard rock/metal album ever....Diary of a Madman. A personal favorite.!

  • Randy is thrilling...and Bob Daisley is the man who wrote the lyrics and played the amazing bass.

  • @janderson2000 Yes sir. Bob put the words in Ozzy's mouth for the entire 80's.

  • @janderson2000 and im sure bob daisley is rich too, writing music is hard don't get me wrong but performing like rhoads did is impossible for most. you can get a degree in music but can you play it?

  • We miss you randy rhoads!!!

  • The outro solo in this song is simply spectacular, one of Randy's highlights definitely

  • what a prick ud have to be to take out things on randys work! a dnt care if it was sharon or ozzy, but randy had as much input in this song as anyone and they took out the drums and bass. no respect for metals finest guitarist...

  • Im with you Randy kills on this song!

  • Glad to be a product of the 80's, when the music was just so damn good!

  • Compare this to whAT IS PASSED OFF AS MUSIC/METAL TODAY, NO COMPARISON! Call it old school, or whatever, but this is the shit! Fuckin' A!

  • Greatest song in the history of rock...only 27,000 views! How detached are people from their souls from not knowing of oz and randy???????????

  • @mafiosino It's just that when people think of "Rhoads" with "Ozzy", they type that in and view After Hours, and the other vids of him in Quiet Riot. Some people don't want to listen to the studio stuff when they can see rare videos of him.

  • The solo at the end is my favorite of all time. Rock on and RIP Randy.

  • A very impressionable young man listened to this album almost 24/7, and I still! have it!! Still awesome to this day!

  • It was 1980 something by the way...

  • I remember i first time i ever heard this song, it was so awesome it made me tear up ! God Bless Randy !

  • Diary was the swan song for Rhoads and Ozzy too. This was one of the greatest albums ever recorded. As great as is was, Rhoads was disappointed with the outcome! Please buy the original version if you can...no proceeds will go to Bob and Lee - but f*ck Sharon and Ozzy! What they did was a crime and I won't give Ozzy a single penny for what he did or allowed.

  • the best ending solo EVER!!! Randy Lives!!!

  • @JNAM651 nope, pretty sure that nigga is dead as fuck

  • @JNAM651 I read your comment and idk why, I started crying...

  • The bass line makes a great difference in this song. And Randy's solos are 2 giant steps beyond brilliant.

  • Ozzy & Randy , begining - besides Q.Riot - united in England - Classics for all time Chemistry beyond words, sacred yhea, ! They're chemistry opened a Rock n Roll door forever inwoven, in history of rock N roll.

  • randy jones at his best! Just kidding i know its rhodes. I like alcohol too.

  • @kyle8649kyle kyle you rule.

  • without a doubt to me this is the BEST song ozzy ever did!!!! rhandys guitar gives me friggin chills!!!!! a masterpiece of song writing and musicianship at its absolute finest!!!! this song helped me through some tough times!!!! thank you ozzy< rhandy and the rest of the guys!!!! god bless and RIP RHANDY F@#$%^# RHOADS!!!! the solo at the end end is mind blowing!!!!!!!!

  • best fucking solo ever :D

  • Absolutely Amazing!

  • fuck yeahhhhhhhhhhh Randy Rhoads :D

  • Don Airey is the most underrated keyboard player ever. As well as Bob Daisley w/ bass and Lee w/ the drums. This song is an absolute masterpiece by Ozzy. I guarantee you will never find a song just as great as this in the heavy metal industry.

But beyond that, Randy Rhoads is the greatest guitarist who has ever stepped foot on this God-forsaken planet.

  • @cj544322 Everybody involved with the first 2 Ozzy albums were geniuses. (The 3rd one was very good as well...just not THIS good.)

  • @cj544322 Don AIrey did not play on Diary of a Madman, A guy by the name of Johnny Cook did. And yes, Bob and Lee were awesome. Bob write the lyrics to all his albums in the 80's. Bob and Randy were the masterminds.

  • Personally I would like to see this song released as a single when Blizzard of Ozz/DOAM are released as a boxset in November ... IMO it's the best song Ozzy has ever done.

  • people bitch about $haron being an evil servant of the green idol, but don't forget if she hadn't been there in the first place to get ozzy out of this hotel room in 1979, this album would have never existed.

  • great song, was surprised to find it on here. one of Ozzy's hidden gems, its always been one of my favorites

  • does anyone has a bass tab for this??!?!?!?!

  • This is one of them songs where you just close your eyes and go back in time.

  • Don't realize this but the ORIGINALS ARE COMING BACK full of bonus material

  • @skateboardermonk782 man zakk wylde is definitely not shit randy is better but jake e lee is my least favorite ozzy guitarist wait actually my 2nd least favorite his new guitarist i like least but i guess it's all just personal preference

  • most amazing record i love randy so much and jake e lee they were both top level talent zakk wylde is shit

  • This song is so beautiful. I love it.

  • I'm curious! Why the fuck mike patton and whoever else u said!?! I wanna know why!! Did they buy out rights or what, they fucked shit up or what, I wanna know. Let me know please!!!

  • to mike patton and mike trijillo

You pathetic little pussies..how could you? for money? would you suck a dick for money too?I bet you would..piece of shit mother fuckers

  • @perrymoorej They were under contract, they had no choice.

  • maybe Ozzy ----could find a time clock ---and reverse ----

in HIS name --------forget the politics ---------damn good song ---leave the sh*t ---good song Ozzy/Rady/Daisley/Kerslake ---

  • I guess the only true original if one has it would be the record or a tape bought in the early 80's. Man don't ever loose this piece of history.

  • WHY DID OZZY'S BITCH WIFE HAD TOO SCREW THINGS UP????????

You will never music so perfect ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh yes good intensions do pave the way to hell.

  • after all these years, the ending solo still brings tears to my eyes. Thanks Randy.

  • @classicalguitartv I quite understand that feeling, happens to me too

  • @classicalguitartv fag, you too eat sausage.

  • Wanna hear the GREATEST guitarist who's ever lived? Then pay close attention starting at 4:06 and you will hear him. RIP RR

  • @NamathTheLegend I can see his head tilted to the side bobbing up and down while he is playing that first part of the solo.

  • I really hate that the original tapes were stripped to remove the original bass and drums. Sharon Osbourne=Devil

  • Fan of bob daisley's work? then check out my page

  • The vibrato at 4:32...it's just so fucking good. His vibrato was among the best I've ever heard. Unbelieveable.

    *head explodes*

  • R.I.P. Randy- you left an indelible impression. Truly a once in a lifetime type musician which only a handful throughout history belong in that club.

  • R.I.P. Randy 28 yrs ago today the music died. You left an indelible impression on all us guitar/music lovers. A talent on the Mozart level that comes around once every few hundred years or so I think.

  • tonight all of you randy rhoads fans.raise your beer.and say randy rhoads lives.listen to his music all night long.we love the man.the way he lived.the way he talked ,walked, played,.randy lives in all of his fans around the world.march 18 2010

  • God, Randy makes that guitar cry. There are no words to describe my feelings when i hear him play on this song

  • @MrSausagewallet eat sausage

  • Outro solo :O :O :O :O :O AWESOME!!!

  • you have good taste i heard the re recorded shity versions of these magic records and it just was not there!! horrible!! you should never remaster anything with randys playing ever

  • there is nothing i could possible say that would describe this song its just the most beutiful thing i have like every heard

  • Great, great, great !!!!

I cannot understand why this masterpiece ballad was always so underrated...Ozzy's voice fits more than perfeclty, the bass line is superb, tasteful keyboards and orchestrations - and the guitar solos... well, what can I say? They probably came from some kind of extraterrestrial angel...
