Great! Wached a friend playing "free Mexican air-force" in a pub just in Wing, Bucks, called the Sportsman - lol, didn't think the links in youtube would take me back to the uk!! :D
WOW thanks for posting that...that must have been awesome to be right in the middle of it all, but that's what bluegrass is, people sitting on their porches, picking, singing...for their own pleasure as well as that of others. This video rocks!
Ya don't get a band much closer to the audience than THAT! :-) I had the priviledge to visit Sommerset, Ohio circa 1978, on one of my "Free Mexican Airforce"-type "Missions". (wink) I can tell you that it is a flyspec of a town, where not much happens around there. Sommerset did also have a good diner for breakfast, and a real nice antique shop. For Peter Rowan to drop by town was probably one of the biggest things to ever hit that town!
Too bad it's so loud; is it that people never stop talking? His vocals are a bit compromised by all the sound, but fun anyway! What year is this? 2006?
ooooooh...this is GREAT...reminds me of the old days at Bean Blossom (less rain in Indiana so we had these sessions by the campfire:-) THANK YOU for posting!!!
Haters of the talkers... It's a jam.
In a public place. A freakin' PUB.
People talk.
Musicians deal with it.
Pete didn't suffer.
Get over it.

Pete Rowan is a national treasure. Too bad those women at the table can't stop running their mouths. Unbelievably rude.
