A grand old lady and a true OCEAN LINER. The newer cruise ships may be bigger but they cannot imitate the grandeur and elegance of a true liner. The Queen Mary and the Titanic will always be bigger in human memory than any of these newer overstacked Clorox bottles putting to sea today.
The Promenade Deck of the Queen Mary. I walk those decks, had lunch aboard this ship. Queen Mary is a Gorgeous Liner. Queen Mary is a tribute to the era of Great Ocean Liners.
I've heard that people are having additude problems about Queen Mary being in Long Beach, saying that she should have stay in Southampton or anywhere in Britain. I think those people are absolutely retarded. If it wasn't for Long Beach, RMS Queen Mary wouldn't be with us today. I say she good in Long Beach.
My God, I love the Queen Mary. She one of my favorite Ocean Liners. I visit her 8 times & each time, I love being on her & each time I enjoy every minute of it.
This august 2008 i have had superior dinner at origional first class restaurant Sir Winston's there. After 4h of excellent food i went for a walk on the ship, opening doors to Queens Salon where all 3 fireplaces was on all flames giving beautiful reflection on ex first class ballroom with its origional artifacts. I loved to be alone there absorbing fleur of the past finally seeing real art deko...
I stayed aboard the ship last year and trust me when you are aboard her you feel like if you're back in time. It's well worth the money to stay aboard her because you can also tour the ship. I loved hearing the bagpipes too! It gives that feeling as if the Queen Mary was on the ocean heading to New York! Thanks for showing the clip!:)
I've stayed twice (hopefully three times shortly). The rooms are a bit expensive for what they are but the feeling of her history is priceless. I would recommend it to anyone with a brain.
Great photographs. Beautiful wood paneling. The quality of workmanship and pride that went into building the ship leaves such an impression. I just wish she was back in England.
You have to buy a general admission ticket to simply go on board the ship which allows you to take the self guided tour of 12 different decks. when I was there, the general admission tickets cost $24.95 for adults, seniors and military discount for $21.95 and kids 5-11 it is $12.95. Of course, you pay for the foods and drinks at the different restaurants as well as for stuff at the many gifts shops on board. You have to check out the official Queen Mary Website for the cost of the guided tours.

Why do the British sell their finest ships abroad to Americans or Dubai like the QE2 was taken to be a top star hotel too?
