  • i love this movie!!it was on tv yesterday,in Italy!!and i watched it again!!XD

  • 20 years already....Thelma and Louise is the best

  • 1991 legendary year

  • twenty years after, this song is truely awesome. this movie was coming from heaven.

  • Watched this yesterday...i still say one of the top 10 movies ever...great too that many gay men like this movie---

  • @dunderklumpen1979 - Didn't know the gay trivia but I'm a little confused. Why do they like it?

  • @madjanssen

at the end of the movie they kiss, and that makes them gay. glad I cleared that up

  • @madjanssen I can't speak for all of us, but it's just a great story with a lot of pro-femininity weight behind it. And me, along with the other gay guys I know, really love that about it.

    Plus Brad Pitt shirtless helps.

  • @dunderklumpen1979 They just do.Well I know a lot of people like this movie but I have been all over and Thelma and Louise is favored quite a lot .I would think its the special friendship and the love they have for each other..some because of Brad Pitt.

  • Hans Zimmer is amazing....He did music for the movie Radio Flyer....and it sends shivers ...LOve it

  • This song is so tranquil. I love how it makes me feel so many emotions. And like I'm sitting in the desert heat.

  • My God, so beautiful, so peaceful...Listen, smoke a good joint and relax!

  • @Sete145Q - U got sum?

I riiili need ma joint u'see! Gonna get mesum suun!

  • @Sete145Q

Or just relax, some people don't need burnt embers clogging up your throat to do that.

  • It would be nice to get a longer version of this song

  • @Popo111603 - I don't know if there is any other version. This is the only one I have on the official soundtrack CD I bought. I would be interested to hear another version too.

  • And the harmonica player is ?????

  • What's the name the music country at the end of this video?

  • where the hell is part 1 to this movie i really want to watch it??? they got all the other movies this one is old too im surprised

  • Chrystopher McDonald´s or Chrystopher Burger King?? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...My God I´m so funny!!!!!

  • Just close ya eyes.. needn't have to watch the scene ...THE MUSIC IS INCREDABLY GORGEOUS!! Deeply touch my soul just like Hans Zimmer's - Gladiator sound.

Thousands of thanks for ya upload...regards from Budapest

  • jeah..my favorite soundtrack, one of my favorite movies..thanks for upload..

  • Hans Zimmer, wow!!

  • Yes. It is "Thunderbird" and I love it. Thank you so much for the video.

  • On Pete Haycock's ( the guy who playes the guitar in this version) he calls it "Thunderbird" So that is good enough for me. Great guitarist by the way Pete Haycock. He was in the Climax Blues Band way back when.

  • When I listen to others music credited as "Thudenrbird" by Hans Wimmer, it's clearly a different track. So I also doubt that the one used for opening titles is "Thunderbird".

  • spacexion is right.

I doubt is this is 'thunderbird'.

    This is clearly different...

    by the way good posting.

This is the original soundtrack, but I think no one knows the name.

if you read this and DO know the name, please let me know :)

    thanks

  • yes you're right

  • Every time I see these opening credits I start to look foreward to the next time I'll see the movie!

Just love it - music, colors, landscape and all. :-)

  • Hell, I love this song. I want this version played at my funeral/

  • I love this song and music like it it, problem is I have no idea what the genre's called so I can't find and listen to more - any help youtube?

  • this sound has a soul.

  • Who is playing the harmonica?

  • are you sure that the title of this track is thunderbird?because i have the soundtrack cd e when i put thunderbird i listen the track when louise puts her gloss while thelma makes the thief inthe market..i'm finding the track..help me

  • Yes Camy, the title is Thunderbird and they use extracts of it thruout the whole movie. I remember this by hard since I've loved this movie all this time. I have the soundtrack, DVD and poster.

  • Absolutely love this track- Thunderbird, Hans zimmer featuring Peter Haydock.

  • me encantaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • la mejor movie vista tio

  • I do believe this is quite possibly one of the best soundtracks and movies that have been made - yet both are highly overlooked, it seems. A lot of people who aren't guitarists and don't understand how hard it is to play this well...don't see a "big deal" about the music and don't like it. Likewise, people who hate beautiful scenes in movies won't like this movie because it has plenty of wide-open country scenes.

I've searched for the guitar tabs for the song - didn't see any on google.

  • As someone who hasn't played any kind of musical instrument in my life and wished I had, I bear no judgement to those who do because I would die to learn to play a musical instrument, any kind. A score like this should actually be accompanied by wide-open country scenes as that is the only befitting image. Besides, it's too distracting to have shots of the movie in the score although I would love to learn how to include that in the score one time. I'd still like to see the original music video.

  • I love it !

  • fine piece of music :-)

  • beautiful music!!!5/5

  • guitar partition ^^

  • Thank's! And the tabs?

  • I'm sorry, I don't get what you mean by tabs?

  • Guitar partitions ^^

  • just search for them on google... lazy person

  • The awesome theme from this film's soundtrack is a cut called "Thunderbird", performed by PETE HAYCOCK (not Hancock). You can find more info about him at his website: PeteHaycock (dot com). The entire "Thunderbird" theme is available on a Live album of Zimmer soundtrack themes called "Wings of a Film", and Pete Haycock plays it awesomely with a full orchestra -- you have to hear it! His new band, Pete Haycock's True Blues, is awesome too!

  • Hey Pelican. You got an mp3/video of that piece Pete Haycock did with the full orchestra? I'm really curious to see it!

  • No...I wish I did! It would have been great if a DVD of this Live concert had been issued as well. I'm with ya!

    Pete's the man...

  • Have you the tabs please?

  • wonderful thunderbird!!!

i love this song and this film!!!

    thank you!!!!

  • genius

  • I saw this movie in film class and thought it was mediocre. However, the music was fantastic, I couldn't get this theme out of my head. I think this is a great track to look at Hans before Pirate's and Batman. What I liked about Zimmer's early works (Backdraft, Crimson Tide) was the relation of music to the characters. This is one of those tracks that definitely achieves that.

  • Is there a name to this piece?

Should have been a song on its own!

  • It is a song on its own called 'Thunderbird' composed by Hans Zimmer and played by Pete Hancock. The song is named after the car driven by Susan Sarandon's Louise.

  • Thanx for the info. cool.

I never watched the actual movie - but i did see this intro and liked the music.

  • I know it's a feminist piece but it's still my favourite movie of all time. Besides, I don't think there's anything sexier than 2 really hot middle aged babes swinging guns around and blowing up a truck with a horny pervert for a driver - that's really cool!!!

  • Zimmer is the composer and Pete Haycock is the guitar player.

  • Love it, love it, love it. Thank you.

  • You're welcomed, you're welcomed, you're welcomed :)

  • This opening sequence was created because Ridley Scott was so impressed with Zimmer's score.

So why couldn't those assholes release the motherfucking score, except for one crummy cut on the album that was a CD bonus track anyway?

That said, the film's soundtrack is pretty good. "Part of Me, Part of You" is a bit silly, but Charlie Sexton's "Tennessee Plates" makes up for it.

  • Awesome piece of music and awesome movie!

  • The guitarist is Pete Haycock, who used to be in the Climax Blues Band.

  • Yep. And Pete Haycock's got a great new band called Pete Haycock's True Blues (featuring Glen Turner). If you love the sound of great slide guitar, which it seems you do, you've got to pick up a copy of their new Live CD. There's some great bluesy stuff and shredding guitar from this guitar master and his smokin' band... (check out RMI Sound website for info -- you'll dig it!)

  • You should go out & buy the DVD. It's well worth the money. BTW, I'm not a dude.

  • I want the whole movie .. dude!

  • thank you so much madjanssen.

  • Thank you so so much for posting this- it's my all time favorite movie opening.

  • i have the full version of the score and it's really really good, i wanna cry hearing it

  • The guitar player is Pete Haycock who used to be with the Climax Blues Band.

  • This was my first attempt. Still new at it. Thanks for appreciating.

  • Thanks! Love this.
