  • I've just had the best belly laugh in years watching this...

  • Thumbs up if you were sent here via the documentary about Les on Christmas Eve with Robert Webb talking about it.

  • Pure genius

  • This hurt my feeling.......I only had 1 left.....

  • Watching this video for the (god knows how many)th time i have to say i love both his real and comedy voice. His real voice is fantastic for the style and his funny voice lit up many an audience.

Whether you liked him or not you had to admire what Les did for comedy :).

  • Pure unfettered genius. The man was a legend. I salute you Les. That's the way to do it.

  • Watched this following feature on BBC - forgot how hilarious this was!!!!

  • Hilarious

  • Thumbs up if BBC 1 just brought you here!!

  • @policemanandrew Yup! That made my night.

  • Incomparable, so missed, it brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for the laughter you gave and God Bless, Les.

  • RIP Les sadly missed by all, when i feel down i watch this it puts a smile on my face i was 13 when he died and i was so upset... Check my video response and please comment

  • Legend pure and simple

  • @TheDiddlysquat

You are either a Wind-Up merchant or an idiot or probably both!

He was a SUPERB Pianist and if you knew ANYTHING about the Piano it takes a very competent Musician to play the piano in just the right OFF key!

How stupid are you that you did not realise this??

  • @TheDiddlysquat Only speak when what you say is worth listening to. It saddens me that there are people like you around.

  • Unfunny crap.

  • @JuanMacready wanker.

  • @JuanMacready Imbecile

  • @JuanMacready

Well FANCY THAT! Its YOU again! The only person criticising The Beatles on here and now this!

ONE-TRICK PONY and not a funny one at that.....PONY AND TRAP, in fact!

    Very dry sense of humour.

R.I.P les dawson funniest briton ever :D

  • yes the BEST

  • An overweight, not classically looking northern man simply singing out of tune. Not the basis for good humour yet this gentleman was (and still is) possibly the funniest Briton EVER.

Like the poster below, when life is going rough I simply just watch dear Les and he makes me chuckle.

R.I.P and may you be making all the people in heaven laugh like you have made me for many, many years.

  • Les Dawson and Roy Barraclough. Just the thought of them dressed as two old ladies gives me a smile of nostalgia. What the world sadly lacks now.

  • what year did les die mate do you know?

  • 10th of june 1993

  • Les, you were The Greatest. We salute you forever.

  • an all time great!

  • lovely

  • I love the way you could actually sing and play the piano so beautifully.

  • He was so so good and I hope his widow and the rest of his family read all the great comments dedicated to this genius and realise just how much this country loved him.Rest in peace Les,you will never be equalled.

  • Classic.

  • bhoywhonder2000 - what a great observation. There was real musical talent in Les. So much so that he could subvert it and make it pant wettingly funny. I have just watched some Les piano playig on YT and some 'Blankety Blank' and I think he was honestly one of the most underrated comics of the last century. there is such intelligence and warmth in his work. He could be utterly caustic but never offensive. His was a unique talent.

  • true class.......a master of his art.

  • a true gent and a great comedian

  • I love it, has me in stitches every time I see it!! Such a shame He's gone

  • i know his daughter lol

  • Les Dawson - what a brilliant comic. Had the pleasure of meeting him in the early 80s. This clip makes me cry with laughter.

  • Boo hoo! It's so... so.. tender... this was me and me wife's song. Before she had that accident with the steam roller. The steam roller came off worse, but she was never the same again.

  • I cant believe there arent any clips of his hilarious piano playing on youtube...

    anyone sort it out?

  • Search YouTube for this: Shirley Bassey AND Les Dawson - COMEDY"

    Enjoy.

  • This is brilliant, always makes me cry laughing!! He was a comic genius, no foul language or racism only abuse of the mother in law, there was no better comic than him. I miss him.

  • voice of an angel!!

  • Absolute legend

  • i remember watching this on the telly i pissed my pants laughing and i was 17 yrs old

  • Les Dawson was a class genius, Somthing so simple like playing the piano badly and singing badly could make so many people laugh so much, I had tears rolling down my face watching this clip, once for the comedy and another for a loss of a brilliant comic....R.I.P les and may you never be forgotten.

  • The thing was he could sind and he could play the piano, but he cose to make us laff with it r.i.p. les.

  • Les Dawson is the best. This clip had me in tears of laughter.

  • i met Les on the isle of man in 1986 with Tommy canon in whispers casino and he was an amazing man.i sat with them and they were fantastic ...........miss you Les x
