  • Saulty67 hit the nail on the head.Gary moore put mote emotion in to 3 notes than these did in there whole career.fair play to them bit there not legends, far from it.there's a big difference between an instrumentalist and a musician.these are instrumentalists!

  • Gary Moore puts more emotion in 3 notes !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where's slash

  • RANDY RHOADS!!!

  • where is aleksi laiho??hmm..maybe he is legend yet!

  • may i ask you something !!!WHERE THE FUCK IS JIMI HENDRIX???!!!!!

  • Killer \o/

  • Vai has best guitar face

  • Comment removed

  • steve vai owns them all

  • Vai's overdoing it

  • A Bass players worst nightmare this stuff !

  • where is justin beaver??

  • I was lookin for my boy Jimmy and slash but still these are truly guitar geniuses man.

  • is that ozzy osbourne?

  • WOW Steve Vai Rulz !

  • were is jimi?????????????

  • that mr crowley solo is INCREDIBLE!!!

  • guitar legend ? Definitely Jimi Hendrix .

  • @RomanianUser who?

  • @aintnaive Jimi Hendrix

  • Steve Vai is dangerous to your health;... I stopped breathing!

  • @Joggione yeah.. me too... O_O :D

  • Vai is unbelievebel...,stil miss Holdsworth, henderson and Lane(Shawn) in this list.Oldfart is right, but technique doesn't stop, and beside the other shredders in this list,Vai plays the most emotional solo on top of his flawless techn. skills

  • i agree old fart

  • wtf wheres jimi hendrix

  • Where's Stevie Ray Vaughan, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmore, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton these guys look such novices compared to these greats! The five I mentioned are the real legends.

  • @oldfart4751 as far as technique goes all those guys get dominated by paul gilbert and steve vai. they're good guitarist. but better musicians. if that makes sense.

  • @dimebad That's whats good about music we all have an opinion, I respect yours but do not agree. Stevie Ray Vaughan, probably has more technique, dynamics to his playing and most important is feel, than any Guitarist before and after him. Even Eric Clapton who was world reknowned as the best remarked on first hearing Stevie, incredible! I had to meet him and see how he was getting those sounds.

  • @oldfart4751 you're right all the guitarrists here are mainly speed metal guys... They are technicaly strong but they don't have what it takes to be in the same group of the guitarrists you refered. Btw you forgot Hendrix ; )

  • @HalfdanShadow this isnt speed metal -_________- the only speed metal here was ozzy's guitarist, other than that there was hardly any metal, van haen is hardly metal and malmstenn is neo-classical, vai is just a fukin monster, but watev.

  • Yeah!! this is ROCK!!

    love it :)

  • slash, jimmi hendrix

  • adrian smith, jimi hendrix, joe satriani, bb king! damn kidz

  • ibanez guitars are ugly as shit. just saying.

  • The poster just said guitar legends, not of all time. Anyone that truely is into guitar would know that like DCRipper that the 80's was a great time for guitarist, and spawned so many greats. He is right with all of his choices, they are a cut above. Sure theres plenty missing from the era like Jason Becker, Greg Howe etc but wotcha gonna do!

  • Was Randy Rhoads that small?

  • shread head

  • How many times does Yngwie switch pick-ups??

  • this is gonna be the worst comment ov done were the hell is freaken slash angus young jimi hendrix jimmy page this is a fucked up video

  • there not on because most of the guitar players you mentioned are shite.sorry but they are

  • I love all the players you've mentioned, but these guys are also great. There are hundreds of truly great guitarists. Why not listen to a wider variety. What about Brett Garsed?

  • and brian may

  • wher is joe satriani and many others:L

  • May i suggest that if you make another guitar legends video you could have Tommy Emmanuel CGP, Jery Reed CGP or Chet Atkins CGP?

    ... CGP!

  • you want to dance so go listening to rihanna stuff or soulja boy .this music is not for talentless people

  • @metalstylex fuck u :)

  • i was hoping to see jimmy page in this vid :(

  • Okey agree.. with ur 50's and 60s, but rly dude,, why to bring others ppl music down? :P Just keep with urs and were all happy

  • BULLSHIT

  • Guitar legends what a laugh! In their own minds maybe.

  • Yes, everyone of them is a guitar legend. Just like David Gilmoure, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Mark Knopfler (whom you have in your playlists) are.

  • Captain sensible? anyone know who he is? Brian james? Roman jugg?

  • h-o-l-y -s-h-y-t.... steve vai's the man....

  • wheres Joe Satriani????????????

DON'T LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK DIE

  • you say metal-i say crap

the true spirit of rock is a constant revolt.

  • Where's Joe

  • the only guitar legend from that was Eddie.

  • u call randy rhodes not a legend. hes second best onlt to jimi hendrix

  • dany and frank u little queers shut the fuck up the 80's were the best skid row cinderella krokus accept all that good shit go suck a cock and get over it

  • 80s mainstream metal sucked balls in the 80s dude everyone knows that

  • slash!!!!

  • Where is Chet Atkins?

  • What no Frank Marino?

  • not realy gay, its different the are only guitar players from the 80s not more and not less.

all others mentioned by you and crazy are the legends. the name of this vid was unlucky chosen

  • dude this is gay,all of these legends are from the 80's only,the 80's kinda sucked,wheres page,hendrix,clapton,blackmore,cantrell,angus young,slash,and iommi?

  • were talking about techniques not iconisity

  • yea page had technique, hendrix pretty much invented heavy metal, clapton as well,Iommi gave the sound of heavy metal, and your tellin me theres no technique here?are you blind

  • Hey man respect the 80s.. especially eddy v halen, randy rhoads... besides slash and angus young are 80s musicians

  • i agree with caseyizzle page & hebdrix wore the best

  • I don't get how some people will actually take time out to insult someone's video. I think the vid's great.. brought back some memories. Kudos!!! Oh wait... that's myspace...

  • init i agree

  • wheres george lynch, stevie ray vaughn, joe satriani, slash, hendrix, kk downing, jimmy page....

  • Via was the only one who was musical in this video. Of course, Eddie Van Halen is extremely musical, but he wasn't in this vid. And Randy Rhoads had some great moments.

    Most of the rest... wankers.

  • one person is good and that was the last one soo this vid suck!!!!!!

  • nice vid

  • I'm going to Agree with Emporercaocao..but at the same time be Hypocritical...and just say..if you guys make another List..have all these Guys..but Add Santana..Vai..Hendrix...Slash...Satriani..and Possibly Paisley..cuz for country he's fuckin sick..but other than that Awesome List yo!

  • I hate this, when ever you post a video, some assholes come on to mention other people. They are never satisfied for your picks, or even if you forgot someone...

  • where's Slash? Jimi Hendrickx? Joe Satriani? Carlos Santana?

  • yeah and spec Slash

  • y joe satriani???

    ke te paso ahi??

no me digas ke se te olvido

  • Where's Joe Satriani? è__é

  • o yeah xD

  • jimi hendrix ???

  • George Formby would bugger them all.

  • U forget Angus Young of AC/DC

  • wooo hooo randy rhoads & eddie van halen r my faveorite guitar players!

  • Nice compilation

  • some people misunderstand a good guitarplayer wiz a fast guy, i think to be a legend you need much more than fast fingers. i got bored just 10 second after listen to some ov'em, but wiz hendrix is totally different...

  • ther were some ppl here with speed but a "wiz" take randy rhoads who help pioneer neo classical by having classical elements in his playing. he was fast but speed with a purpouse. if it was only speed id be no diffrent running up by chromatic. paul gibert was fast but played something that made sense n so was vai. but vai was soulful in that tender surrender solo.

  • WOW u forgot Jason Becker

  • lol he wouldnt have enough tape to put in ppl he forgot... like joe pass shawn lane eric clapon eric johnson joe satrani vinne moore marty friedmen uli roth ritchie blackmore toni iommi jimmy page bb king muddy waters jeff beck buddy guy chuck berry dimebag darrell and many many more

  • may i kno wats d name of d song and the band whch has randy rhoads?

  • No idea what the song was but the band was Ozzy Osbourne's band.

  • mr crowley was the song

  • Eddie is God

  • yeah, and that would be great to see another video of these "oldschool" guitarrists.. i personally prefer them, 'couse they have so unique style. these newer ones do nothing but shred all the time (i'm thinkin' about malmsteen or zakk wylde and the others like them..)

  • hey.. to put things clear..

these "new-style-guitarrists" can never be compared to the older ones like jimi hendrix, ritchie blackmore or jimmy page.. that's a quite other style, altough this technical innovation was started by these guitarrists, who played "something new" in the 60-70s. that's why there's no hendrix or page in the video.

anyway, my favourite of them is van halen.

  • Each and every one a Hendrix wannabe. There are innovators and then there are imitators. Check out Machine Gun from the Band of Gypsys album. Greatest guitar performance ever. Now, let's hear from the "fuck you, you suck, Hendrix sucks" wankers with their retarded spelling.

  • Hendrix was awesome, but you're an idiot.

  • pretty sure vai just kills the rest of them, and thats not even his coolest song, dont even mention eric clapton man, hes got nothin on these guys and especialy not vai, malmsteen or paul gilbert

  • Awesome video, but id like some satriani stuff , look at the g3 videos for some nice footage of him ,yngwie and vai

  • notice the video didnt say every guitar legends the dude is just naming a few

  • Randy Rhodes used to work at a guitar store (The Nusic Store) in Diamond Bar, CA. Imet him a few times, he taught lessons, hired by ozzie, the n was dead before I knew it. Sosad.

  • I had a guitar case that belonged to Yngwie Malmsteen but I gave one to my friend. There is no denying that these guys had no life but with their guitars. It amazes me to watch some of these guys play. I never took it that far - But I am a pretty well-rounded musician I think.

  • Those sure are some shedders - its a whole different style from hendrix, clapton, santana, or gilmore. Its all a matter of taste and flavor - because there are an unlimited number of great guitar players or musicians in general. Ever heard of Michael Bianco? He is a local guy I know that is right up there with the finger-tapping best of them.

  • Don't care what anyone else thinks, you chose a good mix of late 70's and 80's guitarists. Good choices and good clips!

  • kazmelm213 you SUX not randy rhoads !

  • oh come on....these guys are good, allright but what about jimi hendrix??? eric clapton??? jimi page??? and many others....

  • What? No Joe Satriani?

  • Steve Vai rules!!!

  • i think steve vai had a hole in the back of that guitar and was having to much fun:)if you know what i mean

  • the randy rhoads one sux

  • Very Good

but i dont like Yngwie And Paul....

the randy Rhoads sound is great ..

And Steve vai puts a lot of soul in his songs

  • No Jimi Hendrix, mother of all guitarplayers!!

Oke, great song from Steve. Can someone give me the title of it??

  • Jimi was the mother, someone had to be the first real rock god! He did much exciting stuff for sure. But there are light years between him and Vai. Because of different styles, they are hard to compare, but in my ears there are only a few (today) close to the geniuous Vai. He has just developed so many corners of rock guitar, that no other in history probably ever will be able to.

  • he is improvising off the song for the love of god
