I'd like to know at what point are they actually harming the alligators? The point of this activity is to subdue the creature, not harm it. The animal is neither hurt or killed at any point during the activity, with the only risk being towards the volunteer who wrestles the alligator. It's a generational tradition by Native Americans, who actually have more lobbyists in Washington than you'd want to believe. This will remain legal and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Gators don't normally get 15 feet. The largest in (Florida, i believe?) measured at somewhere around 14 feet. they generally range from 7-10 feet, if im not mistaken.
