  • This is NOT the great majority of issues. Your test is skewed to generate and specific result by putting together peripheral and situational questions. You over-generalize with a clear agenda. I agree there are good and bad Liberals and Conservatives--but your test is absolute garbage.

  • @abogach TO ALL who complain that the questions are rigged or off-issue -- all of the questions on the test are taken accurately from leading Liberal leaders or institutions, such as the Democratic Party leadership or the New York Times editors. We only included issues that were clearly appropriate to reveal your agreement with mainstream Liberal positions,

  • the test is so loaded that i literally can't even take it. to say that you're only a real "liberal" if you agree with the statements on the test is completely erroneous. doing so would suggest that political parties exist only if they are radical and lack self-reflection. you could turn this around and make this a questionnaire for conservatives and most wouldn't pass. so then would we all lack a political party? this guy is a joke.

  • I ended up with 9 Liberal, 12 Conservative... and I'm neither! Ha! :D

  • I think the test was a good idea by Prager, but in practice it is quite biased, more so than even the political compass. You'd have to be extremely far left to be labelled as left wing by the test.

  • This isn't really fair. The principle position of liberals are, to use a conservative propaganda phrase, "tax and spend", have a lot of public programs and a lot of government involvement, etc. All that other stuff is just periphery and don't deserve equal weight as that one issue.

  • I think the problem is the 99% of people would see 'tax and spend (the rich)' as an ultimate policy however 'tax the rest of us and spend it on subsidising the rich' seems to be the policy all around the political spectrum right now. and i agree with you.

  • @rinseoutdrycleaner you got it crony capitalism is at an all time high spread the word.

  • @ItzRave Peace enforced by fear of consequences is still peace of a sort.

  • fear is coupled with hostility and hostility does not equal peace. america is the manipulative school bully from a rich family of narcissists that nobody is brave or capable enough to defeat.

  • @ItzRave but its also true belive it or not..

  • @Elcristoph judging from the comments made on your channel you are very gullible

  • I think the test could have been much more in depth and hit the real issues and you'd find an even more slim number of people would be liberals. Ask if people think they should share their wealth with people of other nations, or if you owe other people your labor (essentially, do you believe in slavery), and I think you will find a very slim number indeed.

  • I find this test to be shallow and replaces the meaning of liberalism with something like the stance of what obama stands for? That's ridiculous.

If you want to do a test that actually is in-dept, check out politicalcompass . org

Oh and I got 14 on your terrible test.

  • Conservatives should stop using the term liberal to define what is progressive, socialist, communistic or fascist. It only continues to warp the definitions, and remember “He who controls the language controls the masses”. – Saul Alinsky

  • Wiki Defin. of Liberalism: is the belief in the importance of liberty and equal rights. Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but generally, liberals support ideas such as constitutionalism, liberal democracy, free and fair elections, human rights, capitalism, and freedom of religion.

Who can blame anyone who doesn't know politics for siding with the liberal "team" and then believing they can do no wrong when this is the definition given?

  • "You may not be a Conservative yet, but you’re not a liberal." conservative bias much? The reason why I got that answer was because I'm a libertarian. classically liberal (like the founders) but conservative towards government and not of the neo persuasion.

  • 12/14, I identify as a moderate liberal. This test was extremely shallow, only two answers of "agree or disagree"

  • So I took your test...

14 out of 21. Yes I'm liberal to a point. I've always felt that way. I'm a Viet Nam Vet too. Proudly served. I'm also a good sam type. I always concidered myself a Republicrat. I'm a tree huger. No I don't own any firearms but I understand the need for one. I protect animals yet I don't support PETA. I think all religions are screwed up MYTHS! I believe in Womans rights and the right to life! I am one of 99%, but Occuping Peacefully, any city is not the way to do it.

  • Capital punishment is a important deterrent and punishment. The idea that it is not fit for anyone is ridiculous. I hear many people saying that they should just let them rot. People don't rot in prison. They make friends. They can read and eat and think. Comparing executing a murderer to what the nazis or chinese or any dictatorship for that matter is crazy. On the moral compass of these things are not even in the same ballpark. That should not be dismissed.

  • The military is able to lay the foundation for peace. Not just that. They fight for liberty. Not just for the USA ,but for countries around the world. A few weeks ago I met a vet of the Korean war at meps. He told me about a letter he received from the president of South Korea on the 50th anniversary thanking him for the liberty he and his countrymen enjoy. Literally millions of people have lived in a free society and if we had done nothing then it'd be over 50 years of pain.

  • "Should we change hiring and admission standards for minorities? Do you mean equal opportunity employment?" cutejoker

No actually. He means change standards for minorities. Affirmative action was never meant to be equal. They use the term equal opportunity employer to make it sound fair. The very law requires you to hire a certain amount of minorities compared to how many people apply. Its not equal when employers are required to ignore the merits of some of their applicants do to race.

  • First if you agree that Spanish should be an elective and not a requirement then you agree with that conservative view. We agree with you.

  • Capital punishment? I don't agree with it and you don't have to be a murderer to get the death penalty. The Nazi party legally killed Jews, the Chinese legally killed heroin addicts and there are plenty of other examples.

Should Military be allowed to be on campus? No, Also the US Military is not peaceful, they have guns, tanks and atomic weapons to kill. DUMBASS!

  • Should we change hiring and admission standards for minorities? Do you mean equal opportunity employment?

Should bilingual education be offered to new immigrants?

If the country has two predominantly speaking languages, why not? In America Spanish and English are common place and mundane.

  • Spanish has always been spoken and taught in the Southwestern USA, it was part of Mexico. LOL! That's why when you call your cable, phone, or utility company they say "Oprime numero 2 para Espanol." Trust me Dennis no one is teaching German, French, or Hebrew in the USA. They teach Spanish because Hispanics speak Spanish, think about it. America has millions of Spanish speaking individuals, that's why there's no option 3 for french when you call the cable company. Stop it with the BS agenda!

  • @cutejoker69 except for the fact that german and french are taught in american high schools. He is just pointing out that there are many americans who have a loose grasp on the english language, and we waste a lot of time learning a second language. I for one spent 3 years in a required spanish class ,and never use it.

  • @cowfan9 I took French and have no use for it because no one speaks French in Texas but speaking Spanish is mundane if you live in the southwestern US. Just a fact of life, it was spoken in the South since the1500's till present. It's not going away, I've never taken a Spanish Class but I speak it fluently because everyone speaks it. I can write a bit, I know some rules in Spanish but it would've helped if I was taught Spanish when I was young. Maybe I'm reading in between the lines.

  • @cowfan9

Should bilingual education be offered to new immigrants? Yes! They should learn English and Spanish. I mean if you want to learn Hebrew, Latin, and Irish go for it, LOL! I know 1 person that speaks Hebrew and at least 50 people who speak Spanish and they're pretty smart. They're not illiterate at all, cowfan9 are you illiterate? Of course not. Prager is wrong!

  • @cutejoker69 The point is why should we be REQUIRED to learn another language. It should be an elective

  • I agree but if you want to be productive you better be bilingual. English and Spanish! I guess I'm a realist, I wish English was the only spoken language in America but it's not.

  • These comments are so ridiculous it is a lil disturbing.

  • A picture of Agnes Bojaxhiu as an example for compassion is really disturbing.

  • @Desch4in Mother Theresa isn't compassionate? Lol I pray for you.

  • "No abortions can be labeled immoral." - wow. A question as silly as a claim that most liberals are liberals because they view conservatives as "mean".

  • @IAmClockwork Don't you love the double negative?

  • @nkelly1432 I certainly do. Ok, that test convinced me! I am going to get a green card just to become a republican!

  • Some of the questions are set up for you to choose the conservative choice. Bias all over it.

  • @nkelly1432 They are actually all common liberal positions. Positions they have fought for or against with legislation or propaganda through popular media.

  • 8/21? yay?

  • "Most Tea Party members and most conservative opposition to President Obama are animated by racism." This is a opinion, not a liberal value. I noticed a slight bias on the test, but overall it was very well avoided.

  • Your test is absurd, and you know it.

  • The language one is interesting. In the UK our 'all-seeing' masters decided that practically every document and leaflet should be made available in about 25 languages. Aside from the cost, one thing that emerged was the complaint from immigrant women. They said that because of this they had NO opportunity or argument to support them in escaping the restrictions placed on them by their husbands and families. It made them MORE isolated. After 25 years some still cannot speak English.

  • at 3:29, that's a Canadian soldier, not a US soldier.

  • One of the worst "political tests" I have ever taken.

  • Why do people dislike videos that simply state facts?

  • I got 11/21 and "You may not be a Conservative yet, but you’re not a liberal." Sounds like it assumes I'm going to go full blown conservative even thought I agree with about half of these supposed "liberal opinions".

Personally, I feel like these are all based on venerated standards, and I wouldn't agree with any solidly opinionated group perspective. It just comes across stubborn to not keep an open mind toward social and economic evolution.

Respectfully unbiased agnosticism is my solution.

  • Prager is so good

  • Question number 6;

"In the Israeli–Palestinian dispute, either both parties are equally at fault or Israel is more at fault"

Is that "fact-question-whatever it is" was prepared as if the second part makes you think that "No, Palestinians are as guilty as Israelis so this conclusion should be wrong and I should give the answer Disagree" or am I that malevolent to come up with such a consequence.

You, definitely, sir is an ignorant and narrow minded conservative.

    Btw my score was 17/21.

  • This guy is a joke, he claims that no lives have been saved by peace activists. Are you serious? That is not only false, but disgusting. All the non-violent actvists and protesters who have been murdered by lesser men have been dragged through the mud by this man.

  • @seany505 So getting murdered saves lives? What the hell are you talking about? If the guys were willing to kill the activists, I'm pretty sure they weren't willing to stop whatever they were doing in the first place to get the activists involved in the first place.

  • @paramite12 Wow, you really are putting words in my mouth. I never said getting murdered save lives. What I said was simple and obvious, which is that some peaceful activists have died for their cause. These martyrs are worthy of remembrance and not being called useless.

  • score: 14/21

"You have every right to call yourself a liberal, but you’re not as liberal as you think."

first - about 1/5th of the questions are just plain nonsense. you get "conservative" points just by being sane.

secondly - nearly all of the questions are more than 1 question, forcing you to either accept both/all parts of it, or none (and questions are coupled so there are vague issues with serious ones).

this test is a joke and an insult to political science (which it completely lacks).

  • this guy is non-compassionate, intolerant, close-minded, mean-spirited, and selfish.

  • These are some of the dumbest questions for a political philosophy test that I have ever heard. The rest of the test will probably be the same

  • Israel won the war in 1967, conquered the West Bank(I do not like arguing semantics so we will continue calling it that for this time). The international community, led by the U.N is openly anti Israel amongst its many flaws. How can a credible organization condemn the only true democracy in the middle east, yet allow North Korea and Myanmar/Burma to continue to do what it does? And I agree Israel is not entitled to anything, it has however, won wars to validate its existence.

  • Excellent video, as usual from Dennis Prager.

  • I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their Legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church and State (Letter to the Danbury Baptists, 1802).

    Thomas Jefferson

  • @12september1683 One of my favorite Jefferson references!

  • Apparently I'm a moderate who leans conservative because I'm not sure it is illegal to say, "God bless you" at a graduation ceremony (though I think it's about as bright to do that as saying, "Satan bless you" or "Thor bless you"), because I think the UN isn't necessarily always going to be right, because I'm not sure it's a good idea to ban people from smoking anywhere except inside their houses, etc. Is this quiz some kind of a joke or does Prager honestly believe he's created an honest test?

  • What a tool. Click on the link to his test. Out of the hundreds of possible liberal viewpoints out there, he cherry picked the most extreme viewpoints possible and gives you two options "agree" or "disagree". No room for grey area or deep thought here folks.

  • @Vondur Correct. Prager is one of the biggest Reich-wing tools out there. EVERYthing that liberals or the left does is either evil, anti-American, etc. while the Right can do absolutely no wrong in his eyes. Just cherry pick the issues that suit your agenda and ignore the rest. Great formula for winning over the non-thinking masses but incredibly dishonest.

  • @Swinefeld Prager is also a huge hypocrite. Blathering on to people about marriage and what makes a good marriage, etc. yet he is on marriage number three. Ever read his article that basically is a quasi justification of marital rape?

  • The "God Bless You" argument was very compelling. How can we refute such unstoppable arguments as, "What, are you kidding?" and such amazing logic as, "Well, Congress does it!" Wow, Dennis. The separation of church and state has never looked so silly next to your unimpeachable logic.

  • Wow, Dennis Prager, I'm convinced! I always thought I was a liberal until you pointed out that I don't support MAKING ADMISSIONS EASIER FOR MINORITIES.... WTF??! Oh, and also, Dennis, thanks for destroying that old liberal chestnut - teaching kindergarteners TO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. Yep, standard liberal positions. Very fair video here.

  • 0/21 on the survey, if I scored at all I would be disappointed. My grandparents came to this country from Poland and Israel. They didn't speak the language, the knew nothing of American culture. They were, however, brought up with a strong work ethic and because of it, they adapted to American culture, they learned English, and they prospered. To this day, I cannot understand liberalism. How can liberals be tolerant of gays, women, and equality, yet hate the existence of Israel. I don't get it.

  • @dnarvy2 I've not known any liberals who have a "hate of the existence of Israel". Criticising certain actions and policies of the Israeli government doesn't equal hate for Israel. I hate bullfighting, I think it's a barbaric hold over from the past. I think it should be banned, but I don't hate Spain or the Spanish people.

  • @xexixk The whole argument for a Palestinian state is not a movement for political advancement, rather for a people trying to seek a political haven to destroy the Jewish state, more simply put, commit genocide against the Jews. Explain this to me, if the Palestinians want peace, if they want their own state, why didn't they accept the land given to them in 1948? Also, why wasn't there a movement for a Palestinian state in the West Bank(Judea and Samaria) when it was under Jordanian rule?

  • @dnarvy2 You point? If the hard right in Israel was interested in peace themselves they wouldn't inflame things with settlement building and expansion (ie. land grabs). Neither side is going to get everything 100% their way. The hard liners and far right in Israel are their own worst enemy, they are painting themselves into a corner with their refusals to negotiate or to make any concessions.

  • @xexixk There are two theories on how the owner of the land should be determined:the first is who was there earlier, then second being militarily. Nobody can debate that the Jews were there first. Nobody logical can debate the Arabs won the War of 1967. So yes, the religious right in Israel is trying to settle their own country's land. Also, Israel gave up Gaza, offered 98% of the the disputed territories for peace and the Arabs refused because they want all of Israel. No Concessions, seriously?

  • @dnarvy2 By that theory then everyone in in the US and Canada of Euro descent must leave and give the land back to the native peoples. Continuing to build settlements and expand existing settlements only inflames things and certainly is not a concession. The far right and their refusal to negotiage and Israel's own religious radicals are Israel's own worst enemy.

  • @xexixk I agree that theory does not carry merit, thus the Palestinians are not entitled to their own state. You seem to be putting all the blame on Israel, none on the Arabs. I can very simply explain why that is incorrect. I present two scenarios:say the Arabs stopped fighting, stopped launching rockets, stopped murdering Jews for being Jewish, what would happen? There would be peace. If they Jews stopped fighting, lowered their defenses, there would be mass genocide of the Jews.

  • @dnarvy2 LOL of course you dismiss it when the same argument you make is applied to other countries. I never said that only Israel was at fault, it was you who implied that Israeli gov policy was all innocent. You now label all Arabs as murders. You really think the radicals on the Israeli side - the Yigal Amirs and the Baruch Goldsteins - would give up their own radicalism and be willing to live in peace? No such people wouldn't be. It's a choice of either 2 states or one multi ethnic state.

  • @xexixk I never implied the Israeli govt was innocent, I in fact disagree with many of the actions and policies of the country. 1/5 of Israel is Arab, many of which publicly call for the states destruction and replacement with a Sharia Law governed Palestinian state. In areas such as the Galilee, it is not safe for Jews to walk alone. Lehiyot am chofshi beartzenu. The government should keep Israel Jewish and Democratic as it was intended to be.

  • @xexixk And in regards to Yigal Amir and Baruch Goldstein, as long as the Israel government didn't give up the West Bank and Gaza, they would not do what they did. They both did what they did to keep these areas Jewish, thus if they are Jewish, they will not have a cause to be radical.

  • @dnarvy2 Now you are making excuses for the radicalism of others. Fact is the West Bank isn't "Jewish" there other people besides Jews living there - unless you want to ethnically cleanse the West Bank. Same logic could be reveresed: Palestian radicals only do what they do b/c they want to keep the West Bank Palestianian, if you didn't try to make it non Palestinian then there would be no radicals. I'm sure you wouldn't agree to that though it's the same logic in reverse.

  • @xexixk There are a few flaws in your argument. First, lets call the West Bank by its proper name, Judea and Samaria. Judea and Samaria is "Jewish" because it is part of the JEWISH and democratic state of Israel. And the whole idea there will be peace with a Palestinian state is not true. Jordan's population has a majority of Palestinians, thus is a Palestinian state. Yet no peace. The argument for a Palestinian state in Israel is not for the advancement of Muslims rather the destruction of Jews.

  • @dnarvy2 The West Bank has never been internationally recognized as being part of Israel. Judea and Samaria are ancient names, not relevant in the 21st century. If so then we must call all other places in the world that now have different names by their ancient names as well. Continue on as you are, unwilling to make any concessions on your own side and be unwilling to give up the tiniest bit of anything. Such people are their own worst enemies, you will self destruct that way.

  • @dnarvy2 You seem to be implying that modern day Israel is entitled to "fit" into it's ancient territorial borders - whatever they may be. If that is the case then the same arugment must also apply to every other patch of land on the earth - it can't apply to only one but not the others. If so then all North Americans of Euro desecent need to hand all of the land and power over to the Native Peoples and either leave or let them rule them. Same for Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and so on.

  • I got three points.

  • 9/21 :D

  • A great observation, however Dennis left off one key liberal position on his list, which is if one is angered and offended if asked to self-review one's espoused liberalism.

  • You are not posing questions, you are enforcing that some liberal considerations are wrong, and putting those out of context. I am a liberal and I do agree with some of the liberal points you posed, even though you made true effort to dismiss those as "wrong".

  • thats a test according to ur standards. What does have this "In the Israeli–Palestinian dispute, either both parties are equally at fault or Israel is more at fault" to do with being liberal?

  • The majority of the questions asked do not fit into the black-and-white paradigm, and therefor cannot be answered correctly with simply "agree" or "disagree".

You have not specified where you got the information regarding what "most Americans" believe, which essentially means you're basing your entire discourse on assumptions.

I took the test and got 18/21.

    Also,

    literacy rate in America: 99.0%

    literacy rate in Israel: 97.1%

Clearly the school system isn't making children illiterate.

  • i answered "agree" to 15, not because i'm a liberal, but because i'm a meteorologist.

  • LOL, look at all the lefties cringing when their beliefs are exposed to the light of day. I can almost hear the loud, collective, "waaaaahhhh"!

  • That's why everyone has to stop thinking LEFT or Right come to the CENTER of the line and you will see that lots of these question are not yes or no. Make up your own mind this guys smart but obviously has an agenda.

  • I just want to say that the view of a liberal i the U.S. is NOT the same as the view of a liberal in most of Europe, for example in Sweden where i come from.

Maybe i'm wrong, but if i have understood it correctly in the U.S. liberal parties are seen like left wing parties. This is not the case in Sweden. In fact liberal in Sweden means more of a mixture between left and right, creating a sort of "centralized" political party.

  • Haha this video made me laugh. Over simplification only makes Dennis look like the one who doesn't understand liberal values. Not to mention cherry picking silly examples for the video.

  • @flanginaflan Something tells me he hit it on the head, but you don't like it. So you pretend to scoff at it.

  • @MusicTeacherGuy The death penalty example was the only one a liberal is really going to care much about. Most of the other examples a liberal isn't going to disagree with about. For example

'No speaker should be permitted to say "God bless you" to students at a public high school assembly or graduation ceremony'

  • @MusicTeacherGuy

I am not religious, I am a liberal, but I actually don't think saying god bless you is a bad thing. Its a completely pointless question most people will probably answer disagree to this because its a bad question....

  • @MusicTeacherGuy ...He should ask questions which can actually separate between liberals and the right, not questions which support his video claiming most liberals are not liberals.

And before you say maybe I am in fact not a liberal after all, just so you know I am a liberal by England's standards and we are much more liberal as a country than the USA.

  • I would appreciate if you left out your opinions when you mention the questions (though I do agree with the general gist). It makes it look a bit unprofessional/manipulating.

Also, like people said more than a yes/no would be nice - though I understand this test is only meant to be a basic quiz, not a thorough analysis.

  • DERP - I was disturbed that this rubbish was being taught/studied at a University due to your YouTube name.

Now that I've found you're just a radio talk show host I feel a lot better. Your viewers are free to listen to you, but at least young students don't have to sit through your rants in order to pass a class.

  • @kennny732

You wrote: "3 types of conservatives, xenophobes, greedheads and religionists"

But you haven't described the current, obvious def. for what a conservative is...someone who believes smaller government encourages community in the way that is better and more compassionate, for more people, than the left's big State solution. You can't prioritize egalitarianism over liberty without eventually losing both. Prejudging motives is an ugly tactic or fake way to win an argument.

  • @itreeye 'big government' is a conserv-a-canrd for ' i blame widows orphans and cripples for the taxes i pay'. the xenophobe type conservative, is a hater and cripples are particularly odious to him. the greedhead type conservative says ' i got mine, to hell with anyone else,. when this type finds himself against the wall, and needs help from the public trough, he preaches and screeches its not enough. i do not prejudge motives, i analyze what the say verses what they do...

  • 8/21

  • for some of those questions i either: do not care either way, or (for me) it's not as simple as agreeing or disagreeing with everything listed in the question.

  • i stopped watching as soon as he started talking about emotions, and the way they view themselves.

sure there is some emotion involved, but i think about the issues and try to apply them to a modern day viewpoint with cause and effect before i let me emotions get in the way.

  • I think it was Medved that said he wished that Liberal Jewish people would preach what they practice, because they don't practice what they preach when it come to liberal ideals.

  • Killing a criminal is the easy way out for the criminal.

  • A lot of these aren't yes or no questions

  • Useful Idiots and Leftists teaching in college wish they could just come out a say this: From "Red Dawn" Re-education Film Narrator: [at what once was the Calumet, Colorado Drive-in Theater] America is a whorehouse... where the revolutionary ideals of your forefathers... are corrupted and sold in alleys by vendors of capitalism...

  • I got a perfect score. Actually, I still consider myself a liberal, believing that their is a distinction between "leftist" and "liberal." In my view, leftist are not really liberal in that they seek security through the state providing welfare, which ultimately arises through a desire to conserve their lifestyle rather than deal with the risks of freedom.

  • I got 11 out of 21 it says:

"You may not be a Conservative yet, but you’re not a liberal. "

  • took test and it tells me im not liberal not am i conservative

  • sorry, but there isnt a "liberal" position. "Liberal" is completely subjective; a liberal person in rural Mississippi obviously isn't going to have the same ideas as a liberal person in a city like Amsterdam, yet they could both be liberals.

and many of the questions are very badly formulated. For example, question 18: it depends on, among other things, if there's a dress code or not, which makes a huge difference, or question 6 is also badly formulated given how most liberals i know answer

  • Dislike the test, too black and white. Turned the video off at the greatest peace-keeper on Earth "fact".

  • @TaTiska No kidding...The greatest propaganda machine...

  • Nope. Not a liberal. I think I might be a commie. LOL Go Libertarians! Ron Paul 2012!

  • One problem here...I dont see the US military as peace keepers..Peacek keeping is not making war...It's like saving money by spending...?....Please co

rect me if I am wrong...

  • @mike62mcmanus

    Here is your correction:

The U.S. military is the main security apparatus in many areas of the world. This was true for post-war Japan and Germany, as well as Western Europe during the Cold War. Today the U.S. Navy maintains open sea lanes to facilitate trade and other military forces maintain stability in volatile regions such as the Persian Gulf and the Korean Peninsula. Millions today live in peace and liberty thanks to Americans footing the bill for security.

  • @bw01a Well there was a democratic government that took hold in Iran..there mistake is they decided to nationalize the oil fields ..So the Americans decided to bring back the Shaw of Iran..When he inevitably fell thats when the mullas took over..You see the peace they keep if for thier benefit only..Same thing happened in Guatamala with the national fruit company...They labeled them comunist to justify thier means...Say it aint so.

  • @mike62mcmanus

.....and your ramblings prove what, exactly?

  • @bw01a HIs "ramblings" as you put it point out that not all "interventions" are for "humanitarian" reasons - even when they are marketed as such.

  • I scored 0.

  • I'm conservative and I agree with the general sentiment of this video, but the test is a joke. The questions are so skewed and biased towards conservative views that its meaningless

  • your test is broken

  • You can make people appear to be of any political persuasion you want as long as you phrase the questions the right way. It's like asking someone if they want their tax rate tripled, then telling them they're a conservative because they say no.

  • i took the test and got 14/21. what i did see was a lot of questions that didn't fit a yes/no paradigm but required a more nuanced approach. perhaps this is the issue. i'm willing to discuss and moderate or change my position given a well-argued case. i don't pretend to live in a world of absolutes unlike it would appear, some.

  • @TYSONHAWKE Being nuanced does leave alot of wiggle room for sure.

  • @Pomiferous there is always room for nuance, not for the sake of wriggle room but for the ability to choose a position given the specific case or position in question. for an amusing example, search "limmy yes or no"

  • @TYSONHAWKE Great comment - Life and people's opinions are not black and white. The test was extremely simplistic and I don't believe proved anything

  • @cdg03 Translation: "I'm ashamed of these positions I hold, so I want to muddy the waters and make it seem more vaguely complicated than it really is. But when no one's looking, I'm very black-and-white -- when it directly affects my well-being."

  • @TYSONHAWKE

"...a lot of questions that didn't fit a yes/no paradigm but required a more nuanced approach."

Of course there are nuances which make up why an issue is an issue of difference between left and right. Yet he did say that he was asking questions that are "standard liberal positions", or, issues that are generally accepted as having been worked through already and concluded one way as opposed to another, and rest on the left side. BTW To have an absolute is called the ideal standard.

  • this 'test' is a joke, right? prager is playing games with this nonsense. he knows damn well that those questions do not accurately portray what most liberals believe. anyone who really believes this is an honest assessment of where they stand politically is woefully ill informed.

  • @gunznstuff50 there are no good peacekeeping nations on earth. there is no peace on earth. And if one nation has to be described as "a peacekeeping nation" it would surely not be the US. look at what the military is doing in the middle east. Look at Iraq for example. how is that war bringing peace to this planet? You tell me.

  • @PARIAH805 Peace keepers are indeed highly over rated.A lawless state of being has all sorts of advantages when it comes to an unrestricted outreach.

  • Did he really say "The US Military is the greatest peace-keeper on Earth"????

The US military is pretty much the opposite of that...

Dude, I'm sure you have a gun being the conservative that you are, so just put it in your mouth, aim at 45° in the direction of your brain and pull the fucking trigger. You are a brain washed asshole and you would make a huge favor to the world by killing yourself.

  • @PARIAH805 It's kind of strange how defensive some get. When it is suggested they may not be quite as liberal as they supposed. It must be a badge of honor instilled by an education process through years of training.

  • @PARIAH805 Are you an example of a tolerant liberal? Every liberal that I know is all about hate hate hate, yet they accuse conservatives as the haters.

  • Funny, I have never considered myself to be a liberal, yet I scored 15 out of 21. I also got the "You have every right to call yourself a liberal, but you’re not as liberal as you think."

  • How can someone be against big government but support our massive military without conditions? A large military is probably the most serious threat to individual liberty - definitely for many non-Americans.

If the government is fundamentally flawed and untrustworthy, why do conservatives demand that we support it in its wars no matter what?

  • This man is brilliant! He takes a few issues the majority of us would take a moderate stance on, then asks leading questions on them, and then tells the answer! And so many people will actually believe they concluded for themselves that they’re Conservatives. No grey area at all. Genius!

  • @Jesterswords Sarcasm isn't a point. If you have valid counter-arguments, say them. Don't go "HERP DERP HE R SMART, NOOOHHHT!" and have that be your point.

  • Just a note: 03:29 is a Canadian soldier.

  • Secondly, your statements regarding achievements about the US military vs the UN are beyond stupidity. You mention different standards, talking about peacekeeping first, after which comparing it to how many times the UN "STOPPED" evil. They are 2 completely different things. If you actually factually compared US actions that caused evil to those that stopped evil alongside the UN, the US would without a doubt come out with a deficit - the same I guarantee for peacekeeping.

  • You should have named this video "the difference between being a liberal vs conservative". As many other videos you post this one seems to display a form of tunnel vision, perhaps supported by your desire to explain complex matters in 5 minutes. The true fact is that nobody should be either a conservative or liberal per definition, but they should look at the individual case and best suited approach whether it is considered liberalism or conservatism. Exclusion of either just leads to ignorance.

  • How did this morph into an abortion issue ? Did Dennis even mention the practice during this presentation.

  • To all of you that did not get aborted - happy birthday!

  • Videos like this are utterly necessary.

    Thank you, Mr. Prager.

  • I want the world "liberal" back. Liberalism used to mean somebody who believed in the general freedom of man. Today, mainly in America, the word has been hijacked by leftists whose ambitions have been transformed from freedom from government to free goodies from government. I have no idea how or when the lie took hold in American society that liberal became synonymous with the left.

There is nothing liberal about giving government massive domain over our lives and incomes.

  • I TOOK THE TEST....I AGREE THAT THE QUESTIONS LEAD YOU TO YOUR OUTCOMES ALSO....HOW STUPID TO TAKE THE TIME TO DO THIS... THESE QUESTIONS ARE NOT ALL OR NOTHING BLACK OR WHITE...

  • @mvptp If you are a "Liberal" and are against the death penalty you are always against it. If you are for quotas you always consider race. If you are pro abortion then there are no reasons to stop an abortion... Liberals are Black and White "thinkers"...

  • @mvptp The questions aren't leading in the slightest. I'm really interested by moderate liberals who look at these perfectly sensible, rational positions that left-wing liberals will gladly say they hold, and get angry, calling them "leading" and "unfair". Perhaps you just don't like what you see and need to take a minute to reevaluate your positions.

  • @VentMultimedia My Score on the test = 13 (Of course, the way they worded a couple of the questions left no room for grey area on them…which is a shame, because my stance on them isn’t absolute in every case.)

"You have every right to call yourself a liberal, but you’re not as liberal as you think."

  • @VentMultimedia

Not sure how they know what I think! I know full well that while I indeed call myself a liberal, I do hold quite a few moderate/conseravative posisitions on certain issues. Perhaps better phrasing would be, “You are a moderate liberal, but not what some folks would think when they hear that you’re a liberal.”

  • @VentMultimedia I'm not actually interested in debating well worn issues here. I'm simply objecting to being told what I think, or how I should label myself, or that I should reevluate my positions (which you don't actually know) based on a few moderate questions and a well spun test. I prefer to actually think for myself, instead of letting someone who prefers a red fence pull a Tom Sawyer on me
