  • I wish you guy's would find some other name for "The Christian Right". The "Christian Right" is not "Christian" at all. I hear some buzz about the "Richard Mellon Scaife" foundation being a great supporter of some pseudo Christian cults. Apparently translating "The Bible" into every language was done as much for the benefit of US Intelligence as it was for spreading "Christianity". I hear you guy's saying what I'm thinking. :)

  • Facism = Fox Propaganda Media

  • 75% of this country are Christians. Almost 50% of our entire population are creationists. This makes the United States the largest loony bin on the planet -- the 8th wonder of the world you can see from space.

Fundamentalist Christians are the greatest destructive force to this nation.

  • Thank you for posting this video... I am posting on my Facebook page..

  • The fascism in the right is the result of a group (dominionists) who have abandoned the objective authority of Scripture in favor of more liberal and subjective religious practices and experiences. They may use Scripture here and there to substantiate what they are doing, but never is it consistent with what the actual context of Scripture is teaching. Furthermore, the leftist Christian movement of the "Emergent Church" is based on much of the exact same fascist ideas as those on the right.

  • It's obvious that creationism is being used to block/interfere with the teaching of evolution. Can't you teach creationism in like three sunday school sessions? THere isn't much to it. Isn't it just the first few pages of the Bible? You don't need to base any part of a serious biology class around it. Evolution takes more time to teach because there is a lot of evidence to exmaine from different biological kingdoms, and many different environmental factors to consider.

  • What is truth ?

How do Christian try and usher in a utopia?

  • Stalin = atheist dictatorship

    Franco = Catholic dictatorship

    Hitler = racist dictatorship

    Ayatollah = islamic dictatorship

where is the christian fascism???? lies, lies, and more lies

  • This guy just chose the term Fascism instead of Authoritarianism or Utopianism for shock value. His "explanation" for the use of the term is messy and close to the absurd. Fascism, like Communism, are ideologies with attached economical programmes, not words you should just conjure for effect.

  • Why is it when someone discovers racism or prejudice among the powers at be they respond with racism and hate of their own. Humans are the problem. No one is right, just some are less wrong. The jihad against the U.S. by the islamic world is a result of powers at be, very bad people using peoples faith against them for their own gains. The same goes with the Right in the U.S.A. you are being used. For the sake of your faith, open your minds.

  • An American war on stupidity is looooong overdue.

  • this is probably a zionist propaganda video to distract you from the real problem in the USA government....which is...........jewish zionists and their special interest groups...do a study and investigate how many jewish zionists are on the cabinets of the last 5 presidents........and the current. they use christians....Netanyahu is quoted as saying "christian zionists are scum but theyare useful"

  • @232323C The Jews are the worst, but Christians and Catholics work in similar ways..They treat all the Non believers like dogs..We dont have so many Jews in Australia.

  • @religionisharmful you are 100% correct my friend...it comes down to the abrahamic faiths having the same ugly ideals....

  • the christian right is really the jewish zionists who run this country.....they are christian zionists. schemes of Israel

  • I am amazed at how blinded by the distractions this country seems to be! We are being led like lambs to the slaughter and all the majority of Americans care about is playing video games, getting high and what their clueless celebrity role model is tweeting. Are Americans stupid? You tell me?! We better wake up and stop letting the media conrol us before we have NO freedom or democracy! Read your bible...

  • @roddy35wv Read a book that promotes rape, murder and racism. Yeah like that is going to help freedom....

  • @GregGumbel

    Yup.

Tell that to everyone who suffered thru 8 years of Bible Thumping Bush.

That'd be 98% of the planet in one way or another.

I'm not sure how you came up with anti-west but I'm assuming you equate the Christianity cult with "western" culture.

  • @ROOKTABULA

"suffered"? Oh please. The US would have blown up foreigners whether or not Bush was in office. And Hedges is anti-west and frankly, anti-reason. Look up any of his debates with Sam Harris. It's frightening this man is allowed to pose as an intellectual.

  • @GregGumbel

The religious right in America is more dangerous than the Taliban.

Anti- science is the least of their ineptitudes. Bible based foriegn policy poses a much greater threat to the world.

    Thumbs down for you!

  • Russell Means said it best:

"Socialists (cap S) will march efficiently into the same social atrocities that Capitalists will blunder stupidly into."

In other words, at their most extreme, the left and the right ... become one thing, seamless.

  • FASCISTS ARE OF THE RIGHT. Rightists are lying to confuse people. All the more so since Breivik aka Fjordman became a mass-murderer.

  • This video is still timely given right-wing Presidential aspirant Michelle Bachmann and her unlicensed, "gay curing" psychologist husband.

Chris has been fantastic in pointing out the most important and alarming characteristics of intellectual Neanderthals like Bachmann who openly push a mercenary form of US imperialism and capitalism steeped in classicism, racism and Islamist-like extremism. Sadly big business control and funding of the Christian Reich is what makes it Fascist.

  • He's dead on about the far right. Those cocksuckers Yell "bible, Bible, Bible", all the while they violate every single teaching of Christ. Then the little sleazes try to make old testament law the law of the land when even the jews dropped many old testament laws because they were barbaric. Old testament law is for the jews, not necessarily for christians but these right wing, caananite, children of the nephilim can't even figure kingergarten level issues like that. The far right is satanistic.

  • Even though Hedges correctly points out the delusions of the far right, he somehow fails to see his own religious mindfuck

  • @candiceevans1

I usually ignore such misinformed, dogmatic, CLEARLY deluded, tripe but since Beck et al have SO damaged your perception, I thought I'd take some time to educate you/try to salvage any grasp on reality his type may have left in you.

Liberalism and Communalism are left of center. Fascism-sorry to tell you- is a far right ideology.Just cuz Hitler called it Socialist doesn't make it so.

The KKK was in fact started out as a HARD anti-Commie(left) group of Christians. Sorry.

  • @ROOKTABULA Not only did Hitler,Goebbels,Strasser and Goerring proclaimed themselves socialists, but many leading economists such a Ludwig von Mises observed them distinctly as such. However economics was not the only field in which the National Socialists came in conflict with the German conservatives. The National Socialist were extremely populist and anti-aristocracy, while most German conservatives were monarchists. Not to mention their anti-clericalism did go down well with Catholic rigthists

  • @ROOKTABULA So Communism is left and Fascism is right. And yet the two philosophies look remarkably similar: Authoritarian, One-party system, Suppression of free speech, and extermination of citizens who oppose the Party. So what feature makes these two things lie on separate ends of the spectrum? I'd like to know

    .

  • @ROOKTABULA I have never watched Glen Beck before In my life,,,I do not watch TV I study politics for a living,,,and im sorry you are sadly mistaken,,,Fascim is LEFTIST ideology this is not my opinion sir its a fact,,,communism is far left sir,,,and this idea youve put forth regarding these commie christians,,,lol laughable you cannnot be a communist and a christian marxism and christianity are diametrically opposed philosophies youre confused sir,

  • Comment removed

  • @ROOKTABULA "The KKK was in fact started out as a HARD anti-Commie(left) group of Christians" Yes, Nathan Bedford Forrest and his ex Confederate cronies must have read some of Karl Marx's writings that had just been written and were aghast; or maybe they looked into their crystal balls and were able to see 52 years into the future at Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin and the rest of the Bolsheviks wreaking havoc in Russia, so they started the KKK.

  • @candiceevans1 WRONG. WRONG WRONG.

  • @candiceevans1 Your comment was factually false on so many levels that I don't even know where to begin. "The kkk was started by the left." lol Come on. The KKK was started by Democrats in the south, who were part of the conservative movement back then. The Dems in the south used to be the conservatives and the Republicans were the liberals. They switched up when the Republicans started using the "southern strategy" to court the white racist vote. The GOP has since apologized for it.

  • sir your politics is so wrong and confused ,,,please stop getting your political education from tv,,,,just so you know communism and facsim are left wing ideologies,,,created by the same people to benefit a few elite at the top. Today in America we have no right wing at all,,,Ron Paul is one of the few conservatives the rest are facists like McCain Bush Romney just bc someone says they believe in GOD doesnt make them right wing its their politics that makes them left or right ,,,

  • @wesleyfpt democrats have always had the same ideology since 1776 they were never right wing,,,your problem is you dont understand what makes a poltical party left or right,,,its not religion or your stance on social issues,,,the only thing that matters when youre talking politics is your stance on government. Republicans believe in balanced budgets limited gov and fiscal responsibility dem believe in constant spending, gov intervention in every facit of yr life & huge debts

  • @candiceevans1 So how come modern day Nazi's and Klan members vote Republican? lol You're making a fool out of yourself by repeating bullshit that Glenn Beck told you. Store food! lol

  • @wesleyfpt you've been taught error,,,just bc someone claims to be christian doesnt make their political philosophy right wing,,,the kkk was a wing of the democrat party,,,these people were not christians,,,theres more to being christian then just claiming you are one ,,,no christain lynches people lol. The nature of political trickery is to behave poorly and blame your adversary. Facism tried the same thing theyre leftists they believe corporations should run gov

  • @candiceevans1 You have no clue what you're talking about. The Klan was and is a far right wing organization, started by the conservatives in the south who were part of the democratic party. That's simple historic fact, and facts are not up for debate. Go do some reading and learn about the southern strategy. Afterwards, if you still think your idiotic post was even close to being correct, don't do anymore reading because it obviously doesn't help. lol

  • @candiceevans1 You are obviously nuts.............

  • @rlibos youre obviously stupid,,,,if you dont know that NAZIs are leftists youre just plain stupid,,,NAZI is an acronym for national socialists,,,,they believe that huge corporations should run gov,,,,communists beleive that government should own all corporations,,,,at the end of the day the same people are getting paid,,,,the people who created communism created marxism,,,the bankers,,,and they beneift bc they own all the corporations

  • @candiceevans1 Okay though it is pointless I am going to point out what is wrong with your statement. Democrats favor taxing corporations and making them accountable to the people. Republicans favor free markets and non regulation of the corporations. With the debt ceiling talks surprised you didn't notice that the big fight is Democrats wanting to close corporate loop holes to help pay down the debt and the Republicans want to cut gov't and turn it over to corporations, remember privatising SS?

  • Hitler rose to power in Germany from a combined use of religious revival and a resurgence in national pride and patriotism. He believed that ethnic and linguistic diversity had weakened the fortunes of Germany. He saw that democracy was a corrosive force, because it placed power in the hands of ethnic minorities, who "weakened and destabilized" the success of his people. Simply put, he felt that Germany had been polluted by outside forces and insidious immigrants. How is that liberal agenda?

  • isnt Fascism just when the Government becomes run by companies or corporations?

  • @pawndominance1

    Google.

    Try it.

    Amazing way to learn stuff.

  • @ROOKTABULA thanks yeah i tried it yesterday, it helps a lot

  • @pawndominance1

    Yup!

    >;P

  • @ROOKTABULA

There is Facism .. and then there is facism. Not sure you will get that nuance from Google.

  • @pawndominance1 Facism is basically ultra-nationalism and is as far to the right as you can go. It's inevitable outcome is war with everyone.

  • @pawndominance1 -- iron fisted control of some sort. It was invented by Italy to describe Mussolini.

  • but today Fascism just describes an extreme or forceful view so yes the corporations run the government can be Fascism. Usually some industry has it's foot in politics no matter where you look and at any point in historical time.

  • @TheChineseEmpire The classic european fascist states (such as Germany and Italy) did have alliances with corporate oligarchies in their states - particularly the military industrial corporations.

  • @pawndominance1 It's one part. But that's mostly economics. Fascism is primarily political.

  • Instead of using his scare tactics to demonize a certain sect within Christianity, Hedges should use his mediocre philosophical skills to discredit their ideology by getting into the nuts and bolts of it. He has said nothing here to suppport his silly, biased views.

  • @lourak Hedges goes into the nuts and bolts of it in his book. From watching this interview I can see why'd you think it might be just a bunch of wishy-washy philosophical stuff, but it's more about who these people are, what they believe, and what they're up to. The Dominionists want to take over the country and force everyone to live under whatever literal interpretation of the Bible fits their political agenda of the week, and they're not only tolerated but are a part of the GOP.

  • @wesleyfpt People of all persuasions, beliefs and agendas, in this country, have the right, through the use of our political system, to effect the changes they desire. I wouldn't say this is "forcing" anyone to do anything. The rules of our society, to which all Americans subscribe, is that laws are instituted with the consent of the governed, and all must be obedient to those laws - quite simple...

  • @lourak Of course they have the right to try through the politcal system, that's not the point. I don't need something that simple explained to me. They wish to take power through violence if they can't win through legitimate means. An example of their willingness to use violence if our political system doesn't give them what they want is the killing of abortion doctors. Groups like them and the KKK have the right to try, just like I have the right to speak out against them. -quite simple..

  • @wesleyfpt Surely you don't want to say that the "killing of abortion doctors" is endemic to pro-life groups in this country. If so - that's a conversation stopper right there...

  • @lourak I don't want to say that, and I DIDN'T say that. Not even close. lol If I wanted to say that, I'd say it, and you'd be so sure that I said it, that you wouldn't need to ask. I live in the real world, where I'm sure that the vast majority of anti-choice groups do not condone murder. I stated a fact, which is that some Dominionists who are also anti-choice, advocate killing and have killed abortion doctors, when the political system did not provide the results they wanted.

  • @wesleyfpt The claim that there exist small, fringe groups, that use violence to punish those who don't subscribe to their views is not very important or interesting in this debate. These groups exist in all political and ideological camps - so I don't see your point at all...

  • @lourak If you don't think Dominionists or their willingness to use violence is important they why are you wasting your time commenting on a video about Dominionists and their willingness to use violence? I think they're important because they're batshit crazy and they have a voice in one of the two major political parties in our country. That's what the video is about. If you're good with that why are you here?

  • @wesleyfpt Let's rephrase it then...Are you saying that violence is endemic to Dominionists (whether of the "hard" or "soft" variety)? Note that only when Hedges is pressed by the interviewer to identify the group that has fascist tendencies, does he reluctantly mention Dominionists. It is clearly his agenda to cast the entire Christian right in this fascist mold - a stunning case of deception (and I might add - paranoia).

  • @lourak If you read his book, he provides countless examples of Dominionsts advocating violence, and he also clearly states that he expects the strongest resistence to the Dominionists to come from non-violent members of the Christian Right. Stating that his agenda is to condemn the entire Christian Right as fascist is provably false.

  • @wesleyfpt I don't agree at all that he is not trying to discredit the entire Christian right. He presents a distorted thesis that would lead one to believe that the Christian right, by virtue of its beliefs, which he considers to be irrational (creationism), is susceptible to the influence of dominionists, and therein lies the danger of a mass fascist movement arising. If he didn't imply such, there would hardly be need to fear this tiny fringe group.

  • @lourak Hey whatsup? He is demonizing a very large segment of the Christian Right, I'll give you that, but not the ENTIRE Christian right. He's fine with members of the Christian right who believe in the separation of church and state. One of the things that make me most proud to be an American is the inherent equality of all people regardless of race or religous affiliation. I believe those who think they deserve special consideration because of their race or religion are against America.

  • @lourak Some members of the Christian right believe in the separation of church and state...that religion and politics don't mix. Those others, who wish to tear down that wall and impose their beliefs on others, whether it be legislatively or in public school textbooks, are against America, and giving preference to individuals due to their race or religion promotes inequality and is extremely anti-American.

  • I don't care about Christians or conservatives. I just want my first amendment rights back.

  • @murcielago06gt Maybe you should be more worried about your freedom of speech.

  • TAX CUTS FOR RICH ! CUTS FOR POOR ! IT'S IN GOP BIBLE

  • Canada has just elected a majority government backed and supported by these kinds of people.

  • @MsBeautifulRed north america should dissolve as this continent is fucked up!!!

  • Yeah, well we've just elected a majority government with many MPs who fit this bill.

  • “Now, if the writers of those four books [the Gospels] had gone into a court of justice to prove an alibi…and had they given their evidence in the same contradictory manner as it is here given, they would have been in danger of having their ears cropped for perjury, and would have justly deserved it. Yet this is the evidence, and these are the books that have been imposed upon the world as being given by divine inspiration and as the unchangeable Word of God.”—Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason

  • @CrazyFurrCat

You and your beliefs are here "to destroy the possibility of dispassionate, honest and intellectual scientific inquiry... It is to mix fact with opinion. It is to make lies true." Hedges describes you throughout this video. You are destroying your countries future with views like this. Wake up.

  • @CrazyFurrCat Apparently, not educated enough to know the relative nature of reality itself, consciousness, and perception of "truth" that changes constantly. Not to mention the very coincidental similarities between the myth of Christ and pagan deities before him. No doubt "adaptations" like the pagan dates of rituals into church practices to ease the conversion process.

  • @CrazyFurrCat Says the one that believes a big bearded man in the sky snapped his fingers and ushered in existence and chose a carpenter's son to be tortured for no reason but to make you feel guilty for existing at all. And he would allow the capacities and untapped potential of the brain/consciousness just to say it's useless? 1st Corinthians "The lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are useless." Ever heard of the library of Alexandria? Who is the sheep... really.

  • @Aurelius27x And Im sorry for calling you a sheep, You can have your beliefs and I can have mine you must realize the time I composed my original messg. I didn't take the time to make it elouquent or take into account there would be people trying to pick it apart on me and im going to look at that but in my knowleadge God made science and I have a relationship with Jesus that surpasses ALL THE OTHER ONES I HAVE ON THIS EARTH. And I would rather Die than renonce my creator. do you understandthat

  • @CrazyFurrCat That's fine. No one wins here when we're combative with one another anyway. 1st Corinthians 13, "...greatest of these is love" But anyone with true comprehension of love comes with it mutual understanding, compassion, and respect. I know not all christians are spiteful, gay-bashers, and deem everything outside their faith demonic. If there is a God... may he help those that put love on the backburner.

  • @Aurelius27x Amen, and that is the truth, greatest commandments Jesus gave was in loving your neihbor as yourself and loving God with all your Heart soul and mind for all the commandments are fullfilled in these two and the 10 commandments are in fact Gods Character the first four are HIS territoriy who HE is, and the last six are What HE is like they did not just appear when Moses got them they are eternal if you dont beleive I still ask Godblessing on you and I thank you for having a heart

  • @Aurelius27x Even in fact If man did pass laws to force people to Worship , It would be wrong and not accorrding to Gods Word, God wants people to choose to worship Him not forced, so I will respect you and any others choice with what they beleive and not beat down or judge anyone not my place. this is a response to the vid here. its only my duty to share truth in Jesus. God beleives in free speech in a sence. Who knows a individual cept God. you would make a good Christain if youwern'tbefore

  • Comment removed

  • @Aurelius27x for us not to make us sad because He is at the right hand of God were HE belongs again. But to live that perfect fullfillment of ten commandments and life that no regular man could ever do since the original fall of man were everything changed. only the Creator himself could ransom us that is Love and the kind I strive for I will follow no tradition of man in worship only the Bible and Jesus as He wants I fellowship with adventists because of adhearance to the word they follow

  • @CrazyFurrCat Also, that's in part what is so dangerous about the bible. It teaches that one should rejoice when you are "persecuted" or criticised. And the aversion to reason, logic.. as "worldly wisdom" I forget the verse in 1 Corinthians that mentions "worldly" wisdom as worthless. Complete voluntary ignorance, that seeks out to oppressively convert those who disagree. Not sure why I'm even replying to you, I'm sure you're thinking God will reward you for remaining in ignorance.

  • @Aurelius27x I know what you mean anybody can call themselves christians, they want the salvation but do not want the Lordship of the heavenly King and Master, God will weed out His children in the end. its sad that satan is the prince of this earth right now because we gave it to Him in Genesis though we committed esencually High treason against God and God can not be in the presence of sin because HES HOLY HIS love and Character even in Son It was chosen for Jesus to give up everything to die

  • @Aurelius27x Earthly wisdom is not worthless as in the context of meaning all our wisdom is likened unto foolishness unto God because HE Knows all made all and we are limited in intellect, thats all. He made us to reason and think Fear of God is begining of wisdom in both things seen and unseen But I will be done preaching to you if you respond tell me what you beleive now look who wrote all the messages me this time Ha HA HAA later

  • This man is the Maya Angelou of slamming the christian right. A+ discussion.

  • If you dumb amerikkkans have any sense, you'll start to listen to chris hedges and people like him.

  • @cannuckistan

    but I like Fascism ;-)

  • Fascinating interview - way too short.

  • they can be defeated by Education..Organization...Resistance!!!

  • Was Bush really elected......or 'selected'

  • @Koolvedge so where was our vote?

  • @harris3693 do you really think that there is a 'vote'

  • @Koolvedge not at all!!!

  • If your concern about "Big Government" and all forms of it. Then you should be concern about Islamic Republics and a Christian Theocracy that some Christian Conservatives would like to see in America. With limited Social Freedom and where non Christians, women and Racial and Ethnic Minorities are treated like 2nd Class Citizens.

  • LOL!

The US war FORMED by White Anglo Saxon Protestants.

Apparently this Idiot, never paid attention in his high school history class.

    So do the math morons.

  • @1977awm

You are right about the American government making bad economic decisions. But keep you Nazi comments to yourself.

  • Evidence of creationism: carbon 14 is found in every diamond. The geologic column in the earth does not support evolution. The earth's magnetic field has a half life of 1,400 years. Poly-straight fossils. butterflies can find their way back to the exact spot after a year of flying. Tin cups were discovered in coal in Missouri.

  • Hitler and Mussolini were Darwinists, not Christian. Their Darwinism led them to racism. Darwinistic beliefs have caused more human extinction then any other belief system, but Islam is caching up.

  • @3161029

    Deceitful fucking liar, aren't you?

Hitler was a Creationist, as his own words attest in Mein Kampf.

"Darwinism" was a social movement of the late 1800's which had NOTHING to do with Charles Darwin, or the truths of Evolution as a scientific fact.

Hitler killed 6 million Jews due in no small part to the teachings of Martin Luther, and his radical antisemitism. ("On The Jews And Their Lies" - Martin Luther).

Your "creationist" evidence is laughable, as any scientist can attest.

  • @smaugfrost

Ben Stein did a thorough documentary proving that Hitler justified genocide because of his Darwinist beliefs.

When your soul is at stake, you should at least look at the evidence of creationism and not just laugh it off. Judgment day is coming.

  • @3161029

No. Ben Stein did NOT do a thorough documentary.

He made assertions regarding Hitler, and ignored his Christian beliefs.

"For it was by the Will of God that men were made of a certain bodily shape, were given their natures and their faculties. "-Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, vol. ii, ch. x

"The most marvelous proof of the superiority of Man, which puts man ahead of the animals, is the fact that he understands that there must be a Creator." - Adolf Hitler, Hitler's Tabletalk

  • @smaugfrost

Ok fine, Hitler was a creationist.

Do you sin? Do you need a savior? Can you be certain of what happens when you die? Are you sure that Christianity is stupid?

Are you willing to bet you soul? What if you are wrong?

    LAKE OF FIRE

  • @3161029

    To answer your questions stolen directly from "Way of the Master";

No (sin is a man-made construct). No (no sin ergo no savior). No (neither can you claim that Allah, (or Krishna) is not real and would not send YOU to the Muslim version of hell). Stupid? No. (just blatantly and provably untrue according to the bible). Yes (no soul). What if you are wrong (about 10,000 other religions)?

Why, if Christ is true, would you need to lie to further him? I was a Christian for 23 years.

  • @3161029 Why are you so scared? Your message is fear ridden. Relax..the bible is just mythology, there's no god, no devil and ceertainly no lake of fire. Relax and enjoy your life!

  • @masala505 I am not scared for myself. I have a pardon for sins.

You are the one who believes in myths - how our bodies formed by itself.

  • @3161029 "Are you willing to bet you soul? What if you are wrong? LAKE OF FIRE"

Don't think you're safe because there are many religions in the world besides yours. That means there's a overwhelming chance that you're worshiping a wrong god, and you will end up much worse than those who worship no god at all.

  • @gupsphoo

I know that I am a sinner. There is only one religion that has a savior that did for my sins. I have already bet my soul that this is true.

  • @3161029 So you admit you're a gambler! Good luck that your one in thousands of existing religions is the only true religion!

    LOL!!!

  • The GOP will be much more electable and make much more sense the day when they finally get rid of the religious right and neo-con influence.

  • the christian right are the ones who reelected Bush? Bush won the popular vote and electoral college. So I'm going to say a lot more that just the christian right voted for him.

  • In any society there's an official culture and an unofficial culture that noone talks about but everyone participates in. This is the split in consciousness onto which fascist regimes graft. In WWII Germany, for example, people DID know what was going on, but it was largely not talked about. It was displaced with talk of the nation, the Fuhrer, the "volk." In that sense the displacement in the U.S. comes in the split between torture, suspension of rights etc. and talk of patriotism & God.

  • Haha he says that " no scientists at all support or believes that creationism has any validity." How silly. There are many Christian scientists who believe in creationism and parts of evolution, such as natural selection, to be true.

  • this guy is nuts, He is lining up Christians like Hitler lined up the Jews, he is setting us up to be the scapegoats when something goes wrong. Anytime you see a race or religion or lifestyle being blamed for the ills of a society by Intellectuals who argue for more government power, than you know the next step is the criminalization and Persecution of people of this faith.

  • The christian taliban is more dangerous then any other terrorist groups cause they are already here rotting the country from the inside, forcing their views on others.

  • George Carlin owns religion, watch his vids on Youtube. He sums the whole thing up in a funny but sane way. Even if you don't agree with him he makes some good points. Just search Youtube for George Carlin and religion he has a few different videos.

  • Say no to the Jesus Gestapo! They believe they are fighting for freedom whilst raiding gay pride parades, Buddhist temples, Voodou cermonies, Masonic Lodges, and Wiccan events. They say they are for the constiution when, in reality, they want a Christian theocracy thar oppresses non-Christians and puts those of traditional faiths in concentration camps.

  • 5:50 - "In order for these movements to take power, they need a prolonged period of instablity or crisis, and, we don't have it. ... The war in Yugoslavia was caused by the economic collapse of Yugoslavia; that gave rise to these demagogues, not ancient ethnic hatreds."

This show aired in 2007 before the financial crisis in which we currently find ourselves. Spooky.

  • Chris Hedges is a "Nobel Prize" winner? (Opening.) I think they meant to write "Pulitzer" prize winner.

  • People need to stop believing in the comic book unveiling of fascism and realize their precious Christianity is a tyrannical fantasy plot vehicle utilized for control of the state.

  • This journalist seems biased to me.

  • I just finished this book last week. Very well written and very scary.

  • I think the Christian Fascist or the conservative party is the lower IQ of our country, gullible fools that can't think for themselves and need an authority figure.

  • Smart host. I have no idea who he is but we could use him in the U.S.! What Hedges is describing is authoritarianism wrapped in as he put it the symbolism of Christianity. If you want to know more about the subject just put in a search engine The Authoritarians and you will find a site by Bob Altmeyer where he has a free book you can download or read online. It is very enlightening.

  • On the political right, fascism means "anyone who disagrees with me politically." Socialism, communism, and naziism have the same definitions.

  • hes almost an atheist ^_^

  • Chris Hedges the intellectual wrecking ball (R Pickles 2010). The interviewer is a stain but he does get some good guests

  • I thought America was facist before I found out about the religious elements.

  • OMG, a rational christian!! Can we clone this guy?

  • He makes a good point. I thought even though a number of ppl in AMerica and the west embraced defective morality, they wouldnt be influencial enough to be a threat bcoz we live in an enlightened era. But germany was pretty much in the same state before Nazism and all it took was a few economic problems to empower the nazi's. This could happen again in the wake of the GFC, maybe it is enough to erase generation of enlightenment and bring out ppls selfish side

  • I didn't know they have a Nobel prize for muddled thinking! (or even a Pulitzer prize for muddled thinking, for that matter).

  • @GetMeThere1 Retard much?

  • @marketofideas

    Umm read history much?

Western religion, specially these Fuk Tup Catholix sure subscribed to Fascism in 'spreading the good word' over the centuries.

    Title is apt,

    Your understanding lacks.

  • @ROOKTABULA

Awesome and thought-provoking interview. Thanks for uploading,

ROOKTABULA. I definitely want to read the book.

  • @marketofideas Did you drop out of school in the second grade?

  • @marketofideas Did you drop out of school in grade 2?

  • @marketofideas lol.

  • @marketofideas Did you see all of this video?

  • @marketofideas Ignatius of Antioch devised a means of preserving the power of the Roman Empire while transferring that power to Christian authorities. Since every Roman city or province had a governor every city or province would also have a Christian (Roman Catholic) bishop. When a Roman Emperor would converted and declared the Empire Christian, there would be no effective rebellion because there was already power structure and a system of communication to put down any rebellion.

  • @marketofideas Christianity as we now know it is not the religion of Jesus Christ and his apostles. Christianity as we now know it is the religion of the Roman Emperors who succeeded Constantine. Starting with Constantine, the Roman Emperors realized that they could not eliminate Christianity, but that the only way they could conquer Christianity was by making it a part of the Roman government, and thus under Roman control.

  • @marketofideas Within the interval of about twenty years, the Roman Emperors went from executing Christians for refusing to sacrifice to Roman gods to passing laws telling Christians what they needed to believe in order to be REAL Christians (the 325 Council of Nicaea). Christianity did not conquer the Roman Empire; the Roman Empire conquered Christianity and completely stripped it of its core beliefs.

  • @marketofideas The talk is too fast & choppy. Speak slowly & make it clear of every word you are saying.

  • Prescott Bush was a strong supporter of his good buddy Hitler. Some people say Bush was part of a plot to overthrow FDR and install a Fascist gov in the USA in 1933.

  • thanks for sharing this important stuff! :)

  • The first thing a power tripper will do is identify and name whatever or whomever it is that is to be contolled. All that it takes from that point is to choose up sides, an age old method that has been used by the neocons to promote their agenda, create false flags, and bring our, once great, nation to war with an unidentifiable enemy.

  • He acted like a fascist when he attacked Creationism. He tried to dictate his belief as the sole truth, which is not open to debate!I am not Christian, and I believe that the universe is created by God. Although evolution could be a method of God to create new species, I reject to believe that a 'scientific' god called Nature creates ultra-complex living things by using a machine of randomness that favor the better to the worse unless someone shows me concrete proof rather than fiction.
