This appears to be an early version of the song: Joan is reading the lyrics sheet (She wrote the music and lyrics.)The lyrics are different in several places than the recorded version from her 1989 album "Speaking of Dreams". Thank you again! Dave

Joan Baez is known for changing the lyrics of the songs, hers or not (and not always for the best in some cases), so there is nothing weird in her singing a version and recording another one. In this particular case, as she is also used to tour with her new songs to see the impact on the audiance and improve the songs if need be, I find nothing special in singing this "early" version in Montreux. Except that it is a good song :-) and I have the whole concert on CD...great ! :-D
