What I've never understood was why they disbanded the J-Crown when WWE called their title back. WCW, technically, had unified the their belts with the J-Crown, and therefore, it was a nine-belt title.
@JapNarutofan j crown was not disbanded, and the wwe never had a title in the jcrown, the jcrown made up titles from diffrent groups as you can imagen its hard to defend deffrent titles, that why they have only been unified once
@prowlifik Well, "WWE" never had a title in it, but the WWF Light heavyweight title was part of the J-Crown though it wasnt recognized by the WWF, WWF DID demand the title physical belt back from Shinjiro Otani when they where going to introduce it on WWF television. He then vacated all the other belts except for the IWJP Junior belt, thus ending the J-Crown.
You dont see stuff like this in WWE, theres been some great ones in TNA but not near often enough. Both companies kinda suck. WWE has no respect for wrestling, they refuse to even use the word. Theyre all about marketing and spectacle more than sport. TNA is the same way except they call it wrestling which is great but theyre still a mess
fantastic match. i dont think malenko gets enough credit for what he did in the wcw cruiserweight division. he was an excellent base for the juvi's and rey's, went toe to toe with the junior's like ultimo and liger and generally made everyone that ever got in there with him 10 times better. that was probably his downfall in wwf, he was a star marker not a 'superstar' :|
@DLyrium88 i highly disagree with malenko bein a good base for mysterio. ive watched most of reys n malenkos matches n he was never there. rey even said once that he was never the best on gettin there, but was a hell of a wrestler. now i like malenko, i watch him to get alot of ideas for chaining but he was "almost" never there for rey. best technical wrestler off ALL TIME thought !!! happy he's still in wrestling doin somethin for the company !!!!
@jagjs21: I definitely agree. He didn't NEED mic skills. His skills were in that ring. And he made you believe. Dean Malenko's gift was authenticity. Reminds me much of Bret Hart in the WWF. Putting the legendary Ultimo Dragon against The Iceman makes for time-tested classics.
i agree to some extent, but mic skills would have helped get a bigger fan base. people would have related to him. he was supposed to be a heel in 1996, but i never saw it that way
wcw was killing the wwf at this time...because of matches like this

now that was the best part of wcw the amazing cruiser weight matches they had. I loved both of the guys during their days in wcw.
