@ricefarmer - you're so right about the superiority of chinese fight choreography over US movies. They have to shake the camera around so hard to hide the low quality. They think the shaking "makes it look cool" or "gives a frenetic feel to the action" but i'm not fooled.

The kung fu in even the dumbest martial arts movie is often breathtaking.

The word is indeed "open", 開 (/watch?v=gcETObrVfKg&feature=­related 1:39), but the meaning behind it I'm not certain. I only know basic Chinese speech, and very basic characters. (Most) Metaphors and the like are above me.

Ex: "bones" (骨) referring to "one's character" in the above translation. I wouldn't have known that.
