  • @dec6211 I remember getting a quote from a shop like this and they wanted 4k just for a B16 Swap.

  • @dec6211 Buy a SpecV.

  • nice!

  • one 6 motorsports is located in elk grove vllage illinois

  • where do u guy life at i what to be i what fix my prelide si 94

  • @act440 he said where do you guys live at? i want you to fix my 94 si prelude.

  • @hmongboy133 holy shit....

  • wondering if you could reply and answer a few questions i have im not going to ask them until you say yeah sure shoot. thanks guys

  • wow that was really impressive bunch of young guys with lots of mechanical knowledge doing a good job working as a team i enjoyed watching 1thru 3. i myself am in the middle of a swap aswell except i spun a rod bearing and have no shop so its all going down in my driveway i have all the handtools and jacks but its a stock for stock swap no need to hack the harness just plug n play and this helped give me an idea of the actual extraction

  • Okay I have a 2dr Civic EX coupe with a d-16 y8, I believe

I wanted to do the best and cheapest engine swap but wasnt sure what I would need.

Could you recommened some stuff for me?

I plan on doing this all when I get back home from afghnistan.

  • @TheJustinstarr Hey, bro. You can't get best or cheapest. Choose one or the other. The most popular swap is the b18c1 also called gsr. It's a 1.8l with vtec. The tranny that comes with it doesn't have lsd usually. This swap runs 25-28 hundred. If you wanna go cheaper just go with a b16a. They run a bit cheaper. You can always boost it later.

  • i think ill stick a b16a2 1.6 dohc vtec in my 00 hatch. just need to find some1 in ireland to swap it for me! changin from a 1.4 standard civic engine so should get a nice power gain. :)

    comments welcome!

  • Damn I was hoping it would blow up in your face and make you look like the woman who got attacked by the chimp!

  • How long did all of this take?

  • BRavo!!

  • modded STI would eat up that vic lol

  • @xavier415 turbo vs turbo i dont think so, civic will eat sti alive any day

  • If it aint a Type-R It Aint a Tight Kar!

  • what's your guy's number so i can order an motor from you guys.

  • where is this shop @???

  • I would like to swap the engine in my BMW E36 325IS to an M3 engine how much more work is it guys and what can be the coststo do that? thx:)

  • sounds like a v8

  • EVO 4 EVER

  • should have got a cheap intake rather than cut up the AEM :(

  • PA-DIDDLE!

  • Very inconclusive info.

    Not exactly educational.

    Definitely a great shop though!

Would maybe suggest a bench, to do away with hands and knees.

  • con dinero hasta yo lo hago solo, esta fien faacil solo hay ke contar con la herramienta necesaria.

  • Is it neccesary to wire up the knock sensor if you are just going to run a OBD1 computer?

  • Depends on the usage of the engine, but I don't understand why the owner would put a used engine in. Probably 2500-3000 for the engine (keep in mind you could find this type of engine in a car waste yard for less than 1200US). Approximately 1300 for installation. Probably another grand for parts.

Depends on a lot of things, we didn't see everything they changed. If you do everything yourself, and only do it as a project, you could get by within 3k.

  • wrong you cant just "find" this motor in a junk yard no one would ever let that motor end up in a junk yard. its too valualble.

  • @BAYSIC07 but you can find a b18b and just make it into a b18c

  • @TheSupra108 No. making a b18b exactly into a b18c is impossible. but they do make what is called an LS-VTEC motor using a NON-vtec block. (b18b) and a Vtec head (b18c-b16a) but its not as reliable or durable as a factory vtec motor. preaty much a "frankenstein" motor

  • @BAYSIC07 thanks for this info it will really help me decide what engine i will put in my hatch

  • He put a used engine in because there are almost no B18C5's out there? And no you can't get the Type R engine for less that 1200. And I've seen swaps done for less that 500 dollars and it's good people doing the swaps. Think before you speak sniping "kid".

  • i agree with RicardoH14 b18c5 is usdm type r.

  • i dont think this will pass emission swap because the car is newer than the engine. It's probably considered as an illegal swap.

  • that only depends on where you live and who you know.

  • Won't pass mainly because it is not using a OBD2 computer.

  • that shop looks soo sick. Where is it?

  • eh turn off the engine, turn off the engine... oils leaking... hahah jp good shit...

  • buccrybabe : b18c type r is jdm b18c5 an other engines with a number after the model is us motors like b16a2 and b18c5 or b18c1 these 3 are usa but japans are b18c b16a so get your shit straight

  • does a b18c5 fit on stock mounts in a 2000 civic sir ???

  • How much do you think the owner paid?

  • Damn, Illinois is too far for me to get an engine swap done for me, I live in Florida =(

If i were an hour away, I'd go to One6 for sure.

  • i just drove back from florida. and i live an hour away from one6. the drive sucks, and unless you have someplace to chill for a week or so, i wouldnt make the drive. but mark is one of the best at what he does and you can sleep easy knowing he put the engine in your car.

  • GREAT JOB!!!!

  • I'm impress

  • were ur shop located

  • One6 is great, I was there to get a manual tensioner . I convert my 98 prelude sh from auto to manual, mark was there to help me out to get the parts I need. There located at 610 Bennett rd in elk grove IL.

  • not real smart to rev a "brand new" engine right after start up........thers like no oil pressure.

  • Yes, Because a '97 Integra type-R means its new.

    Its used already man.

  • nice i like how u completely skipped the quotations i put around brand new.

    epic fail

  • us b18c5

    japanese b18c1

  • isnt b18c1 a gsr?

i think its b18c for japan...

  • your def right on that, b18c1 is an american gsr

  • did they have a gsr in japan?

  • Im not sure, I dont know all the history and differences, i just know what alot of the engine codes are and what really good swaps are

  • well i got this 99 5sp accord, and i want to swap an h22, but i dont know if i should go n/a with a bored out h22 to 2.5L w/n2o or boost....i know if i go n/a i wont beat k20a hatches....but on the other hand i dont wana waist so much $ into the motor...but if i go n/a with wicked compression, im not gona want to rebuild over and over agian...where boost i can go at min psi..and get a long lasting motor...what would reccomend bored out wit n2o h22 or a boosted h22???

  • boosted, all motor h22's that are set up like that tend not to last long at all. Boosted H22's hit around 400 hp all the time without that much work, so you'd get more power faster that way as well

  • yes its called Sir. for the 4-door integra type r

  • dude b18c5 is japan and yeah the b18c1 is the gsr

  • b18C is japan type r

    b18c5 is usdm type R

    and yea b18c1 is gsr...

  • Isn't Type-R c9?

  • are you retarded?

  • yes he is

  • US TYPE R-B18C5

    JDM TYPE R-B18C

  • type-o

  • LOL nothing against you dude but thats a type Dumb-R

  • can u pass the smog from swapping type r engine in california? im sorry not really familiar with thse stuff.. thanks

  • Comment removed

  • well obviously creating premature wear is retarded, and so thats y revving ur motor is the smart thing to do

  • Worlds Fastest Motor Swap: Award goes to One6 for a 10min 18sec motor swap. CONGRATS.

Hey where are you guys from I wanna do this to but there arent any places near by me to do it?

  • looks like a buncha stoners! looks fun =)

  • nice work ! im gona put b16b on my ek next month

  • how much would an updrade like this cost

  • engine would be 2700 maybe less maybe more, to get it installed easy 4000$

  • like additional 4grand? or altogether like

    $2700motor + $1300=4000?

  • dumb ass reving up a cold motor!!! that b18c wont last long

  • ur dumb as hell bro, its what ur supposed to do

  • and exactly why do you need to rev a cold motor up like that?

  • gets all the internals working u start it up slowly and usualy its more vernable to rod knock.

  • right....alls i can say to that is good luck with your car

you rev it up that quick without oil flowing through it your gonna create quite a bit of metal to metal friction...thats all im sayin....and take that from someone who knows about engines....not just some honda kid

  • One 6 is one of the most repitable shops in Chicago, when one of my buddys got his eg swapped Top Setup (in joliet, a worldwide known company) did the same thing by revving it up right away. so listen to them

  • all my ase certified instructors at nadc said that is a stupid thing to do and it creates alot of premature wear....i choose to listen to my instructors

  • Im going to agree with you hondaridinhot. No oil = metal to metal friction = big problems. I think I'll take the advice from a certified instructor. Just because one shop does something, doesn't make it right/proper.

  • finally someone who isnt busy shoving their nose up a "shops" cars ass

just because a shop does it doesnt make it right...and i bet the workers in that shop didnt go to an auto college...so i have no reason to beleive that what one 6 motorsports does is the right way of doing thigns

  • Yep I agree. I also don't believe these guys went to a college/university.

  • By Google searching "One6", you get their site, they're located in Elk Grove Village, IL.

  • Nice Swap ! how much would it cost to get a swap like that ?

  • at the end, he said the swap was into a "98 civic cx" title says 2000, FAILED.

  • thats tight how much will u do a b18c5 swap for into a dc4? where are u located hit me up?

  • I have a question. How did you program the compression ratio or does the computer get that automatically the first time you start the engine?

  • the ecu doesnt need to kno compression ratio

  • a dudes all that work and ya never launched it i was waiting till the end for a launch make a vid on it please i have to hear that girl hit v-tec on launch please please from austrlia

  • How do plp kno this shit. Where do they learn this shit from?

  • technical school, reading, or taking shit apart and hoping it goes back together properly

  • good job make more videos!

  • nice, work,,

  • NICE..how much was for all dat??

  • Good job you guys. Keep up the great work.

  • so...u guys created a monster!!!..wuhahaha

  • thats watsup!, have fun with the itr swap.

  • nice vid. and nice song in the end.. likwit junkies do for self lol. melo d mix huh? now all that b18 needs are some toda vtec killer camshafts and 43mm individual throttle bodies!

  • dude you dont need toda vtec killer camshafts,it a B series engine and that means its already a vtec, but the throttle bodies sound a good idea, or ever a edelbrock performance X turbo kit

  • vtech killer cams make the vtech obsolete. it will be like if it was in vetech all the time. There really is no point to them unless your car is strictly a race car. On the street you'd just waste gas, and your idle would sound like the car is going to turn off.....lind of like a drag car.

  • Great post, so much misinformation on the net about a B-series swap. You guys made it look so easy. Now I wanna see a K20a in an EK video.

  • the thing i didnt get was why did you have to change the cylinoid to a b16 cylinoid?

  • im curious, how long did the swap take all together?

  • my guess is a couple grand, i had a stage 1 clutch and light weight flywheel put in my car and that was close to a grand so its got to be around 4 grand my guess but idk.

  • so how much do they charge for that?

  • This video must be old it's when they were working in old sho psince then upgraded to bigger shop.

  • must be a way to have ac compressor on the car with b18 b20 type r k20

    does anybody knows??

  • you have to use a b16 compressor bracket. one6 motorsports are located in elk grove.

  • to bag we dont have this here ; [

  • i think chicago area...i live in chicago...and iv heard ppl talking about them..so im assuming its around here lol.

  • damn man good job where u guys located

  • They are located in Elk Grove, IL (Close to Chicago)

  • good work guys... do your shit right

  • I would rather drive the integra ;P but that thing is still pretty sick.
