Communism should have being stop back then as soon as it started back in 1848.Everything went down hill because of the complascency of politicians that were morally and physically unable to deal with this pest,COMMUNISM!
I was born in Germany but raised in the U.S my father is currently a U.S. Marine and my Grandfather was in the German Navy during the Second World War. I have great respect for sides during the war, and if you would talk to my grandfather he would tell you about the mindset of Germany back then and how many men he knew died even though they hated Nazism, they just fought for their fatherland.
@Ericgoestowar Oh,and one more thing - don't tell me that Vermaht achieved the results that it did becouse German officers had to force german soldiers to fight. This is nonsense. They fought with enthusiasm and belief of the Victory. From what my Grandpa told me - german had the most battleready soldiers in that war,but they quickly ran out of them. And afterwords all that landshturm and hitler Ugend - that was almost a joke.
@Ericgoestowar Pardon my cinisizm, but what the fuck were those "nazihating" Vermaht soldiers and officers doing in Stalingrad? Fighting for their fatherland? A bit too far from it,don't you think? No.They were fighting for a madman's idea.Soviets were fighting not for Stalin but for their motherland. That's why they won.
@Ericgoestowar Maybe,maybe...but look at those happy faces in De Doiche Vochenshau (pardon my spelling) that are filmed in the begining of operation "Barbarossa".How gladly they pose in front of burning Soviet villages, equipment and POW,they smile like winners:-)My Grandpa told me all about them.
@vuikenshtein dis you see the US troops in Iraq a few years ago? posing smiling? they where there for no reason yet they killed, they did their job. Those soldiers in Barbarosa did their job aswell. Its what they signed up for and its what most of them where willing to do. What I said about the officers was true on alot of occasions.
It's interesting i read the rise and fall of the third reich and i admire the germans alot for skills in engineering weapons, etc but as soon as MY U.S.A men were in the battle i was like fuck thta those Gi's are my babies.never will forget WW2 VETS .
you know alot of the designs for modern gear for the us military where taken from the german military. they had some of the best equipment in the world at the time, during the begining of the war allied tanks where defenseless against german king tigers.
YA! the germans used to call a sherman tank a tommy cooker and the allies named them ronsons after a cigarette lighter of the day because the motto was it "never failed to light"
The German army is a different animal to the Nazi . The NAZi USED the Army
