When Ico free himself from his tomb, how does it comes? Or rather, what provokes the heartquake that permit him to escape from it? Now, I've read in

several comments that the Queen is supposed to be Mono, the girl loved from Wander in SotC and, also, that Ico reminds her of Wander, this is the

reason because she gives him an opportunity to escape the castle (the last just a supposition). Can, then, the Queen be the maker of the

heartquake that free Ico? What do you think about?

@11salva SotC is a prequel to ICO, even though it was after ICO. The boy in ICO is related in some way to the wanderer, he even could be wander himself, after he grows up. But im not an expert on the subject.

I loved playing this game at age 9, even though the shadows were bitches and takes the girl to put her back in that cage, even when you're not there with her to protect her, and you had to go find her and try not to let it happen again and get out of the place with her to beat the friggin game...ugh loved it still XD

It makes sense that Ico would be a descendent of Wander after what happened in SOTC, but it doesn't make sense at the same time. If Ico was a direct descendent, even an indirect descendent, and the village continued to send away/sacrifice CHILDREN with horns, then eventually there wouldn't be any of Wander's descendents left; the line would die out. Maybe it was just various children from then on from the village, and Ico took place not too long (couple decades?) after SOTC. Maybe :)

The boy is unlikely to be Wander reborn. Shadow of the Colossus suggests that Wander simply started horned boy lineage.

The reason it is unlikely is because the room that Ico was banished to, had like 100 other containers filled with horned boys. It obviously suggests that their were many other horned boys before ICO, thus he cannot be Wander (who started it all). Ico is simply a descendant of Wander. Condsidering the amount of children, it could be hundreds of years between them.

Well, the 'coffin room' in Ico, where you start out, has (IIRC) 99 other boys with horns in their coffins.  That means that Ico is, at a minimum, 100 generations after Wander. SotC likely takes place a couple thousand years before Ico.

Actually the link is pretty obvious, Wander (Protagonist in Sotc) is turned into a baby in the end of the game with horns, and the shaman says he hopes someday he will pay for what he has done, so the horns symbolize a curse, and ico is his decendant, all his decendants are sacraficed. Maybe you were talking about other links but that is pretty much all the connection that there is.

@ssrunner Not every descendant will have horns. Wander became possessed by Dormin at the end of SotC, Dormin was defeated but some of him remained in the reincarnation of wanda. The darkness enemies from Ico are the same as Dormin, just smaller, so it's clear the descendants of Wander's connection to Dormin is more than just horns. The queen from Ico is the girl from SotC. She received Dormins powers when resurrected, the horned children were probably brought to her to keep her happpy.

For me, there's no way Mono fits into that. She doesn't even look like the Queen.

@XmetaI4everX Well she does look like the queen, people brought this up years ago before many other clues where discovered, there are subtle difference consistant with the slight change in art style between the 2 games, then of course there is the dormin "spirit" that is overflowing from the queens body, which changes her apearance. She calls her body a "vessel", saying it's very old. I could explain all the clues to you, but they wouldn't fit in a youtube comment. Ask if you want.

ico is not the baby that was at the end of shadow. He was born to a woman in a village, and and because he had horns the villagers raised him to become a sacrifice for the castle of mist. In the book, the villagers said that their ancestor killed the collusus, which is the dude from the first game.

The wanderer is the village's ancestor, but when he was turned into a child, he was cursed. Part of Dormin was still in him (reference of the horns) and somehow........the curse was passed down to certain boys in the village.

Shadow Of The Colossus is a sequel to ICO. The director of shadow/ ICO, Fumito Ueda said in a interview with OPM that Shadow is a sequel from ICO. In issue 97 of OPM.

The woman is Yorda and the teenager is ICO. She dies and ICO has to bring her back to life. Then theres the 3rd one THE LAST GUARDIAN. with is ICO alittle grown up since he was a baby in the end of shadow. I guarantee u that Dormin and The Queen will make a return in this next one, along with Yorda, AGRO, and EMON.
