  • OMG Police officers carrying Guns! That IS dangerous.

  • i saw this at the drive inn back then .took a long time to come out on VHS

  • If the BLU RAY does not include the 2002 Version and ALL THE EXTRAS from the LASERDISC, Im not buying it!

  • at 1:14 good thing their guns were replaced with walkie talkies, that could've been dangerous

  • In the newest edition, all the walkie talkies are replaced with vibrators.

  • they replaced the shotguns with walkie talkies, and I'm thinking to myself... WHY???

  • at 2:06 it looks fake

  • i like it

  • Spielberg said for the next release on Blu-ray he will most likely include the original footage, seeing how Blu-Ray Discs hold so much storage he can easily put both versions on one disc/

  • Bring the guns back!

  • they shot parts of e.t right next to my street

  • now the 30th anniversary is appraoching..will there anything special done?

  • @FlashDance002 i think it might be 3-D

  • I grew up with the original version of this masterpiece and i can honestly say that i didn't really mind the CGI changes in this version at all. Spielberg really knows how to effectively use digital effects as a storytelling device, unlike most filmmakers these days. The changing of the government agent's guns to walkie talkies was really the only change that i felt was kind of unnecessary. I saw this version in theaters with a packed audience and the picture and sound quality was utterly superb.

  • they Changed the Flying Scene from Elliot Ducking by the tree to him just keep going when he flies by the tree. Btw. Best Music at the Best scene @ 1:45 when i saw this trailer and i saw 1:45 i Smiled!

  • Et used to scare the shit out of me.

  • ok i remember seeing the original as a child and i remember the cops having a gun..did they change it in the remastered version to walkie talkies?

  • @spikedavid64 YES!

  • the audience doesn't need you to use that patronizing tone in a phony movie preview voice punk, even if the general hollywood audience is dumb and doesn't know anything about the world they're living in

  • I belong to 1990's generation (very far to E.T.), but, even borned 11 years later, I recognize a awesome film. In 2002, I has 9 years old and I could watch E.T. in the remasterized edition. Was a honor. I met Spielberg those year and then, I become his fan. E.T. it's a present to all generations of a director that never grows old and always renews his way of direct. A wonderfull work to all generations, 80' years or to this days!

  • LOL they took the guns out and replaced them with radio's. What are they trying to protect kids from? All they are doing is helping make guns more taboo. Spielberg Fail

  • Et look out for those walkie talkies

steven spielberg ..you sicken me 8(

  • Out of all the scenes in this movie, which ones were the saddest? Which ones had the most tension? Which ones were the funniest? For me, the saddest scene would be the one where ET 'dies' and everyone is crying. The one with the most tension would be, hands down, the bicycle chase scene (you know, the one where Micheal, Elliot, and their friends are trying to get ET to the spaceship). The funniest? For me, it would have to be when Micheal and Gertie see ET for the first time.

  • the CGI version makes him look cartoon instead of clay , You know what i mean ?

  • i really dont like the cgi version ...

  • i love this movie so much its been my fave my mom and step dad baught me tix tosee it again so this is the best movie since 7 years

  • Don't misunderstand me : the new scenes are nice to discover as a bonus, but I just can't forgive Spielberg for having change ET with CGI in too many shots, since this also changed his personnality in some ways. And federal agents holding talkies instead of guns...? Come on ! They kbnow the kids are harmless but what about the alien ? He was dead and now is alive ! Of course they fezel him like a possible threat !

  • Spielberg needs to keep his hands away from his previous work.

  • @ShadyNJ yeah! What's Next, Replace Indy's Whip with a Rope?

  • @yanndick I Like It when they use animatronics instead of CGIs because you can actually take a picture with animatronic instead of using Computer stuff to take a pic with The Smurfs or something that's CGI now!

  • @The3ninjakids And Spielberg always knew the right mix with using animatronics and cgi. Jurassic Park still looked great on AMC the other day.

  • E.T is My Favorite Movie

  • An adventure like this can only happen once...

  • They should have never remade E.T. as CGI !

  • @yanndick It was clearly stated that it was impossible at the time to do those certain scenes because they didn't have the technology yet. I'm glad he re-released it cause it was fantastic. I usually like updating my films once I have the experiance and technology which I never had before.

  • @ADMediaEmpire

Added to this, they also remade the french dubbing and change all the dialogs with the new release. So, the only possible way we have here to rewatch ET as we discovered it when we were teens is to watch it on old VHS. On DVD, only the new dubbing is available (Even with the original cut) and it's not as fun as the one from 1982.
