Teachers are not supposed to bring their religious or political views liberal progressive, marxism indoctrination is a problem if that is the case religion should not be talked about at all! not even to use it as a platform to prove it don't exist
Sorry for my spelling i'm from russia, just moved to USA my english is not good, so much freedom to say what i want! no religion in school means no atheism talk either if an atheist teachers brings up religion like they always do to prove a point they just brought religion into schools.
Well said young man . In my recently posted video on Youtube I venture a step further and make the suggestion that some official legislation should be devised to allow children and minors the legal right to say 'fuck you' to teachers and parents when it comes to religious indoctrination . Im not against the teaching of religion in schools or by parents , but children should have the legally binding right to reject what they're being told to believe . Good for you for speaking out .
Will all athiests please read the bible ONCE to understand christianity better before you bash on it? Thanks. I also think it's funny how some people have forgotten past events. I bet you anything 1000 years after the U.S.A. falls no one will believe it ever exsisted. Same story with Jesus, but you know, athiests are ignorant and refuse to believe because they can't accept the truth.
@nadkins72 when those athiest are on the hospital bed dying they will pray to god! when those atheist are in a foxhole, burning in a car,or when their children are deathly ill, they WILL pray to the one Jesus christ and GOD ALMIGHTY! "if you do exist god please forgive me for smashing your name"
@georgesorosisgay1 you do realize that "there are no atheists in foxholes" is NOT an argument against atheism? if anything is more of an argument against religion...
dude your awesome i allways needed someone to intelligently and calmly explain atheism......im from mississippi and people think im a satanist. you cannot imagine the shit i get from these rednecks
@AcornMcSquirrlyTV Why the fuck are we always fucking called satanists in school i had to go from person to person explaining what Atheism is and that it is nothing close to satanism.
ya well fuck you, this country was founded on Christian beliefs....if you want to worship some fuckin terrorist group, move there asshole....I am no religious fanatic but I do belief there is nothing wrong with sticking to what founded this beautiful country, you want all the religion taken out of schools, your a fuckin 2 bit moron, actually if you listen to your own bullshit remarks, your a fuckin loser
Wow, a Christian saying fuck you to someone else. "As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility."- Treaty of Tripoli, Founding Fathers
So fuck you! Go read a book and learn your history fuck face.
@bestofsevenrules So you'd rather have a school that forces you to forget about what you believe and what matters to you, just so you can do what everyone else is doing? Not going to happen buddy.
@rysha101 I am saying if it is a public school not a seperate school, it shouldn't be a big fuckin deal if they say the lords prayer now and then or celebrate xmas or these few little things that the fuckin immigrants are demanding we take out of the system when our country was founded mostly on thoses beliefs. We seem to have to allow immigrants to bring their cultures and ways here. No religion is really bad so why fuss over the little shit, do you hear what I am saying
i wish i could say that youre a genius, but the truth is. you just make a lot of damn sense and nobody has any anymore. every video of yours ive watched gives me hope for humans entirely. especially your ideas on hummanity, ego, and connections.
Here in Malaysia, publics schools have (compulsory) Islamic prayers every Monday morning during assemblies. During which non-Muslim students like yours truly shut up, stand around and wait till the whole shindig is over. Then again, its short and they don't force us to chant along, so I reckon it ain't quiet as bad as the situation you described. Although we still have to pledge our "Belief in God" as part of the national pledge
Greetings from Ireland. Went to a Catholic Brothers school, didn't stand during one of their archaic masses. Got roared at in the corridor by a fundy teacher. In retrospect I should have torn her a new logical asshole, but I was too chicken shit, and that's retrospect. Anyhow, kudos!
Well, accepting of all religions is all well and good, but there must be an understanding of the said religions that are practiced so that there is no counter-profiling against those who wish to show their belief in a constructive manner. Freedom of speech should trump silencing of select religions. Furthermore, a dearth in religion in schooling poses another problem, if we force all teaching staff to advocate NO religion, aren't we then advocating atheism?
i dont the smashing of the catholic faith but you are unless private you dont have to go to a private school well thats your choice and in catolic school tea`h what they belive you do the and make your choice i hope they will respect but no religion should anyther especcily in public school you should pray to your idk know who he is i can pray to mine with out the goventment of school and or nation favor one over the other
Schools are schools. As long as the government isn't favoring one kind of religious school over another, I don't see what's wrong with funding them. Students are students.
Once again you don't quite take it far enough, sure one religion shouldn't be given more state funding then other religions, but why should the state fund religious schools to began with? Kids are still impressionable and teaching them unscientific wayes of thinks should legally be child abuse.
Right...cause that worked so well with racial segregation...
When I was a kid I used to have these really crazy, recurring nightmares, and one was about waking up one day to realize that everyone around me had totally lost their minds.
They basically reorganized the whole world after what these creatures that were possessing them wanted and I was the only one left who realized what was happening.
The first thing we did in Religion class last year, was copy down a set of class rules which banned the following things: "Stating that this (the subject) is stupid", "Questioning the teacher", and "Asking why we have to learn this". You were not allowed an opinion. On a test, the opinion of the church was the right answer. If you answered otherwise it was marked as wrong. This is first hand experience of Ontario catholic schools.
Well I do believe in God but my beliefs are a big mixture of things from lots of religions, not just one. I see them all as different paths to the same thing. Sol, youre absolutely right mate. Religion has always been reliant upon actively restricting individuals from obtaining a factual educating only for the sake of ensuring its dominance in mainstream society, to restrict logic, reason and independent enquiry. Religion should not be in any way shape or form associated with any tier of education, be it public or private; It defeats the entire purpose of attempting to gain an education. Ban religion in schools! Stop the religious Indoctrination!
i went to a chatholic highschool in ontario just because it was close to my house and so i could go to religion class to argue with teachers about how stupid religion is. and when there were mass days i would do everything in my power to find a ride to school after mass so i didnt have to go. then i got a car and i never stepped foot in that church again other than at my graduation
Totally agree, if you want religion you should check it out after you become an adult, not be brainwashed as an impressionable child. It should be looked upon as child abuse.
my dad, who is an atheist as well, went to a catholic school, for the same reasons highlighted in the video, and he had to take a religion class. however, due to lack of funding or whatever, the students had to bring in their own bibles. dad brought the Satanic Bible. he was no longer in religion class after that.
that's because it's generally right. there's nothing wrong with believing in something. do I still think that they're ignorant for doing so? slightly, yes, but theres still nothing wrong with it. it's when you gather people by the hundreds and thousands to clock to the bullshit at once that you end up with problems.
though the topic was religion, you'll find that most shool administrators and at least half of teachers will hold that attitude to anything that deviates the norm.
I had an ongoing fued with my science teacher who wouldn't change her stance that the atom was an indivisible unit of mass even when I brought in a video on how nuclear reactors work with one a hours drive down the road.
i was stuck at a christian school too, being told that god loves you and doesnt care how you look and yet being forced to conform to an idiotic dress code.
It is fuckin wrong i do agree, like in my primary school or elementary school as canadians and americans say, we had to pray and sing religious songs which at that age drove me insane.
I even got to the point where i simply mouthed the words because even then i didn't like religion so i 100% agree with u on that one Sol
WOW, are all US principels like that? in the NL nomatter how fucked up and idiotic your ideas are if you present them mature enough (or even when you dont usually) the teachers+staff+any other people in charge will tell you they respect your ideas and your right to express them, and would never EVER, even if you express the believe class should start with a hip hop version of the chinese anthem that it doesn't matter and that your opinion is not important, they wont do wath you want but still
I think it's like that in almost all Europe. At least in the EU, personal beliefs are respected and religion is almost, if not entirely independent from the State. We're ahead of the US in this case, and some other social aspects.
I recently found something out, one of my classmates wanted to go to a christian school (read, was forced too by his christian parents) but we wasnt admitted, he has autism and some other things like that, and because of that he was not ''fully a human of god'' causing him to be turned down, and that school is still recieving goverment funding.
No. a belief in something tends to be needed by human beings. ORGANIZED religion is wrong. If people want to believe in something, then they're perfectly well entitled to, but the church, especially when it's involved with state, is COMPLETELY wrong.
I agree with the one who posted this video. That is why the united states existed is to escape from religious prosecution. The country is not followed by christianity. It is founded on freedom and liberty. It is their descendants who end up believing in christianity. It all started when christianity was used to help people be more polite and do good but as time pass on they end up using religion as power which ends up turning into corruption.
Im a Atheist. I can so relate I was in almost same situation when the priest told to go to mass or I would quote burn in hell frankly If there is soo called hell I think quite attractive prospect, most my favorite bands will probably end up there. through religon i found nothing but contridictions to vast majority. If believe the old book you are imbread and if you are new you evolved from something that chucked poop at eachother Id with poop rather the bogus man who created earth in 6 days
Yeah, living in Ontario too, and not far away an amazing catholic school and I'm stuck in this shit-hole public school. Some teachers were amazing, some were horrid. But the place sucked overall. So unfair.
Lol I love how these Christianoids want us to teach prayer in school, but when us atheists and agnostics, and overall non-christians disagree, they say we are forcing our beliefs on them.
I remember I went to a private school for one year, because we were poor and my mom worked there so I went for free. It was Kindergarten and they were saying "You will go to hell if you don't believe in God." I remember sitting there thinking "What the fuck"
That is called brainwashing and needs to be stopped
My old school had mandatory school mass EVERY FRIDAY. I did the same thing and I was told basically "FUCK YOU" an THEN I was beaten (no joke., he took out a paddle and said "bend over, Ima beat your ass.")
This was maybe 3 years ago. I have since left the school, and started to think. After that, the whole concept of this "god" guy started to fall apart, as these things tend to do when thought enters the equation.
as a christian I want to say that I am so sorry that principle said that to you. that is terrible and uncalled for. and I want to thank you for being respectable to others during that time of mass.
the sad part is that private schools (even though they receive public funding) are allowed to do whatever the fuch they want. my high school's position (which was catholic by the way) was basically that if you don't agree with their beliefs, that you can go to another school. i wasn't a rationalist when i entered the school but conforming to their rules was pure torture once i came to my senses.
@SolRosenberg84 Sadly, you're right. There are few religious people that I know who won't, at one time or another, question me on why I don't follow their deity/God/whatever. Thankfully, most of them drop it after I tell em Im not interested in joining their fanclub.
when i went to school, i HAD to do religious Education, and my RE teacher said "we should always be respective of other religions, but christianity is the only true one" -.-
no-one was actually christian at that school i went to that had the RE, the only reason people took it was to get out of work.
And sure, your entitled to religious freedom, I am not religious either, but if your reaping the benefits of the money from the church, extra resources for the school, have the decency to go along with the masse, no matter how bullshit you think it is
i went to a church of england primary school and was fed all that religious bullshit but by the time i left prmary school was a definate agnostic, not that was really a devout christian before and by the end of my first year of secondary school (non-religious) i was a clear athiest. what cemented it for me was the local christian organisation forcing bibles onto us, expect us to read them and use them for guidance. i burnt mine the next opportunity i had, just to make a point.
You don't need religion to have morals. Too bad many prisoners don't see it that way because when many get released they tend to go back to a life of crime. One should have morals why to survive. What makes humans different from other animals is that we don't have to be ruthless to survive. With morals one can survive and live better then survival of the fittest.
People try to protect religious beliefs from contradiction by science. They used to do it by prohibiting teachers from teaching evolution at all; then they wanted to teach intelligent design as an alternative theory; now they want the supposed "weaknesses" in evolution pointed out. But it's all the same program -- it's all an attempt to let religious ideas determine what is taught in science courses.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I feel so sorry for you man. You've rejected life because of one man who didn't really know about or practised real christianity. If you want know what God is really like (which I doubt you do by now) look at Jesus in the gospels. Considerate, thoughtful of where people are. No one who brushed with him came away with your attitude.
i feel for you man, i used to go to this stupid "jesus camp" thing my mom made me go to from when i was 5 to 11. but then i questioned christianity after i watched the history channel or something when i was 8 and found out about all kinds of other religions. i was shocked. until that time i thought there was only one religion because nobody told me about anyo thers. i felt like i was going to forced to be a christian my entire life, like i didn't matter. peace
We had a Pastor coming over to our Catholic elementary school to read the Bible and such. I recall a few stories. The Pastor stopped coming when two kids from class threw rocks through the church windows on the opposite side of the road. I changed schools to a non-religious school and I never saw that Pastor again.
By that time, they will have new fairy tales - or the existing fairy tales of Jeyzus will have evolved into the tales of the moon King Jeyzus and his band of merry tight-wearing fellows.
Great stuff. Totally agree with you on all counts.
I am Canadian teaching Biology at a public high school in southern US. Yes, right in the middle of Fundyland. Please have pity for me. I start next week and don't look forward to the indoctrinated crossed-arms, stares and mutterings from my students. How's this for sad? When the staff sits for a meeting with food, they say Grace!!!
State conference in March, they said Grace, all 3000!5*
I wish you the best of luck. I hope you find someway of getting through to at least one or two kids in the school you go to. I also hope the teachers are ok, but the three thousand member grace thing makes me feel the deepest sympathy for your position.
Nope. Pay is not good. Weather is great and the beach is wonderful. Trade offs I guess. Frustrating at work every day. Some kids give me hope but the majority are definitely fundies. They don't hesitate telling me I'm wrong and gawd created us. one of my favourite answers to a question:
So who still believes that man is not causing global warming? One boy put his hand up and said that it's not in the bible so it's not true. How do you keep a straight face in that situation? I DID. It was hard.
I do think it's sad. I think it's sad when people don't think for themselves because they're so brainwashed by thier misinterpretations of the bible. The bible was NEVER intended to be taken literally.
yeah i'm from england all the best schools are like faith based even in my school which isn't even supposed to be religious at all we got free prayer books and have prayers at assembley and the local religious spouting guy comes and starts spouting the religious bullshit that pricipal guy is totally fucked up i would have been so pissed the people who don't understand or accept diffrence in people make the crappiest teachers
Athiests try everything possable to discriminate christians, and try to make what we do look wrong because we say no to stuff ppl lust for.

Completely agree with you. I am a Catholic myself (very moderate though). However, nobody has any right to force any religion to others.
Forcing religion to others is morally wrong, and it is (no other word for it) an atrocity.

Totally agree, if you want religion you should check it out after you become an adult, not be brainwashed as an impressionable child. It should be looked upon as child abuse.

HEY young dude, great video, you have impressed me.

my dad, who is an atheist as well, went to a catholic school, for the same reasons highlighted in the video, and he had to take a religion class. however, due to lack of funding or whatever, the students had to bring in their own bibles. dad brought the Satanic Bible. he was no longer in religion class after that.
kingzant99 2 years ago
...Your dad would be my best friend.
joegt123 2 years ago
that's what everyone except the super-religious says.
kingzant99 2 years ago
that's because it's generally right. there's nothing wrong with believing in something. do I still think that they're ignorant for doing so? slightly, yes, but theres still nothing wrong with it. it's when you gather people by the hundreds and thousands to clock to the bullshit at once that you end up with problems.
joegt123 2 years ago
true, and I have no problems with people believing in god(s). heck, most of my friends are christian.
kingzant99 2 years ago
Did the principal actually say that, or are you just paraphrasing his response?
I'm just wondering, I completely agree with everything your saying.

He literally told me to "be quiet and go to mass" after I had logically tried to defend my case.

in that case, I'll say this:
you are a better man than I am
I would've smacked him then and there

smacked him? I'da kicked his fucking ass!

though the topic was religion, you'll find that most shool administrators and at least half of teachers will hold that attitude to anything that deviates the norm.
I had an ongoing fued with my science teacher who wouldn't change her stance that the atom was an indivisible unit of mass even when I brought in a video on how nuclear reactors work with one a hours drive down the road.

As a not so devout roman catholic I agree with you that religion has no place in school, It is a private matter that has no place in government.

you had a choice in all this... you're the one who chose the Catholic school.

i think students should be able to choose if they want to pray or learn about god in school

i was stuck at a christian school too, being told that god loves you and doesnt care how you look and yet being forced to conform to an idiotic dress code.
superstatic27 2 years ago
It is fuckin wrong i do agree, like in my primary school or elementary school as canadians and americans say, we had to pray and sing religious songs which at that age drove me insane.
I even got to the point where i simply mouthed the words because even then i didn't like religion so i 100% agree with u on that one Sol
grantiethesilentone 2 years ago
thats terrible, for a principle to say that to you. He was wrong to say that to you, and he shouldve respected you and your beliefs.
coolbeans0325 3 years ago
WOW, are all US principels like that? in the NL nomatter how fucked up and idiotic your ideas are if you present them mature enough (or even when you dont usually) the teachers+staff+any other people in charge will tell you they respect your ideas and your right to express them, and would never EVER, even if you express the believe class should start with a hip hop version of the chinese anthem that it doesn't matter and that your opinion is not important, they wont do wath you want but still
mdsatan 3 years ago
I think it's like that in almost all Europe. At least in the EU, personal beliefs are respected and religion is almost, if not entirely independent from the State. We're ahead of the US in this case, and some other social aspects.
Crysis 3 years ago
I recently found something out, one of my classmates wanted to go to a christian school (read, was forced too by his christian parents) but we wasnt admitted, he has autism and some other things like that, and because of that he was not ''fully a human of god'' causing him to be turned down, and that school is still recieving goverment funding.
there go all my ideas of a civilised Europe

Faith schools and a religious education class are totally different things.
How are your RE classes anyway? Do they study a lot of religions fairly? (I don't live in America)
I don't like those Christian Universities though, I think they are PhD mills.

Religion is wrong....WRONG!!!!!
ScourgeOfHumanity101 2 years ago 2
No. a belief in something tends to be needed by human beings. ORGANIZED religion is wrong. If people want to believe in something, then they're perfectly well entitled to, but the church, especially when it's involved with state, is COMPLETELY wrong.
joegt123 2 years ago
Fuck, we're STILL funding religious schools?
WiggyTheCanuck 3 years ago
I agree with the one who posted this video. That is why the united states existed is to escape from religious prosecution. The country is not followed by christianity. It is founded on freedom and liberty. It is their descendants who end up believing in christianity. It all started when christianity was used to help people be more polite and do good but as time pass on they end up using religion as power which ends up turning into corruption.
saltheadd 3 years ago

That is called brainwashing and needs to be stopped
xTheDark3stAng3lx 3 years ago
you think you had it bad!
After that, the whole concept of this "god" guy started to fall apart, as these things tend to do when thought enters the equation.
xXRoBeRtXHaYdNXx 3 years ago
as a christian I want to say that I am so sorry that principle said that to you. that is terrible and uncalled for. and I want to thank you for being respectable to others during that time of mass.
hanblue 3 years ago
the sad part is that private schools (even though they receive public funding) are allowed to do whatever the fuch they want. my high school's position (which was catholic by the way) was basically that if you don't agree with their beliefs, that you can go to another school. i wasn't a rationalist when i entered the school but conforming to their rules was pure torture once i came to my senses.

Please.
SolRosenberg84 3 years ago 2
@SolRosenberg84 Sadly, you're right. There are few religious people that I know who won't, at one time or another, question me on why I don't follow their deity/God/whatever. Thankfully, most of them drop it after I tell em Im not interested in joining their fanclub.

when i went to school, i HAD to do religious Education, and my RE teacher said "we should always be respective of other religions, but christianity is the only true one" -.-
no-one was actually christian at that school i went to that had the RE, the only reason people took it was to get out of work.
CaveofTwoLovers 3 years ago
no religion is right
xSinistercutx 3 years ago
And sure, your entitled to religious freedom, I am not religious either, but if your reaping the benefits of the money from the church, extra resources for the school, have the decency to go along with the masse, no matter how bullshit you think it is
JozefButterfield 3 years ago
This principal sounds like an asshole, however, the fact is religion IS in schools and unfortunately its not going anywhere soon.
Ultimately you gotta realise life isn't equal, so if the catholic church wants to give extra funding to Catholic Schools, they've got every right to.
JozefButterfield 3 years ago
i went to a church of england primary school and was fed all that religious bullshit but by the time i left prmary school was a definate agnostic, not that was really a devout christian before and by the end of my first year of secondary school (non-religious) i was a clear athiest. what cemented it for me was the local christian organisation forcing bibles onto us, expect us to read them and use them for guidance. i burnt mine the next opportunity i had, just to make a point.
rosygirl52 3 years ago
You don't need religion to have morals. Too bad many prisoners don't see it that way because when many get released they tend to go back to a life of crime. One should have morals why to survive. What makes humans different from other animals is that we don't have to be ruthless to survive. With morals one can survive and live better then survival of the fittest.
saltheadd 3 years ago
what an asshole. you should have punched him or drawn upside down crosses in all his books when he wasnt looking
Nofuture91 3 years ago
People try to protect religious beliefs from contradiction by science. They used to do it by prohibiting teachers from teaching evolution at all; then they wanted to teach intelligent design as an alternative theory; now they want the supposed "weaknesses" in evolution pointed out. But it's all the same program -- it's all an attempt to let religious ideas determine what is taught in science courses.

I feel so sorry for you man. You've rejected life because of one man who didn't really know about or practised real christianity. If you want know what God is really like (which I doubt you do by now) look at Jesus in the gospels. Considerate, thoughtful of where people are. No one who brushed with him came away with your attitude.

We had a Pastor coming over to our Catholic elementary school to read the Bible and such. I recall a few stories. The Pastor stopped coming when two kids from class threw rocks through the church windows on the opposite side of the road. I changed schools to a non-religious school and I never saw that Pastor again.

Perhaps by the 25th century, children will no longer have to endure being forcefed these tall tales.

Found out about you through AgnosticMan77.
State conference in March, they said Grace, all 3000!5*
saxmanchiro 3 years ago 3
Holy Crap.
I wish you the best of luck. I hope you find someway of getting through to at least one or two kids in the school you go to. I also hope the teachers are ok, but the three thousand member grace thing makes me feel the deepest sympathy for your position.
They better pay you well!
SolRosenberg84 3 years ago
I DID. It was hard.
saxmanchiro 3 years ago 2

Do you have to teach the creation story in your class or the science of evolution?
