the only solution with this problem is to buy another cpu ..that has 3. up ghz .. are your motherboard compatible with amd ? ... if so buy amd instead of intel
I have this processor on an Asrock G31m-s MOBO. I use Asrock OC Tuner, and I can make it run at 3.2Ghz (Very stable). No voltage changes neccesary. At 3.3, it starts to freeze.
@roseonly4rose Well a good formula is the desired Mhz (divided by) the multiplier (equals) FSB speed. So lets say you want 3.5ghz. Thats 3500Mhz. So divide that by the multiplier you set (lets put 13). 3500 divided by 13 equals around 270. Sometimes when you overclock you have to lower the multiplier and raise the FSB speed but just put that into the formula and bingo! Hope that helps
Go into the BIOS to overclock.
If not get another CPU, get a Intel Core 2 Quad. I have looked up this board and this board is Intel CPU only so AMD CPU's would not work.

intel giver the clock right this
800 = 1066mhz over (no voltage need)]
1066 = 1333mhz over (no voltage need)
1333 = 1600mhz stable (voltage need)

u cant put 1.38vid and run at 300mhz!
3900mhz on cooler stock!

hey this is very low temperature !

Go to your BIOS and bump the FSB frequency from 200 to 246 and you will have 3.2ghz. Download CPUZ to view CPU frequency of the overclock.

Thanks MAN you rocks but i really wana oc upto 3.0ghz now plz tell what should i do once again Thanks in anticipation

3000Mhz (divided by) 13 mulitplier (equals) 230 FSB speed.
In other words just put the FSB speed from 200 to 230.

I do the same as you advice but i oc only 11% i means 2.87ghz but i really wana oc upto 3.0ghz but its not working system cant starts when at 3.0ghz

what motherboard do you have?

MSI-G31TM-P21

I would recommend raising the voltages on your CPU for 3.0ghz.

How?
roseonly4rose 2 years ago
There should be an option called vCore. You should really consider looking in your manual as it will help you better than I

That board is a real bitch to overclock man.

why and how??
roseonly4rose 2 years ago
Because its not made for overclocking.
