@iamdemom1 They are motor-driven sirens (think air raid sirens) with a variable speed control to change pitch and a valve in the air intake to cut clear notes. There are four sirens, played live from the ribbon controllers they're playing under the canopy. The glowing orange horns are partly for visual effect, the sound openings are between each horn. Find footage of the song "Tango de Bal" if you can, it shows what these can do. Photos and vids on the Mecanique Vivante website.
