Nice to know I'm not alone. I was obsessed with water towers as well from the ages of 3 to 8. I admired the character they gave the landscape. I really enjoyed this video, thanks a lot and you have a cool little kid.
Good Lord. Our nearly two toddler is obsessed with them. Except for the fact I can't sit through almost 9 minutes of water towers, this is great for her. Anywhere we go, we play the water-tower-spotting game.
Hello, nice footage you have collected over the years of many american Watertowers. It is funny to see the differances between the architecture of the Netherlands and the states We have made an impression of one large and oldest tower in Rotterdam the Netherlands. You can find it under PCUVideo and then watertoren de Esch. Hope that it may interest you. With kind regards PCUVideo
I loved water towers when I was a kid. I thought they were the coolest things ever. I had no idea what they did or what they were for, but I always thought they were cool, even until now I think they're kinda cool. And they're based on such a simple concept, which is cool.
How can anyone not like water towers? They're cool looking, useful, and they give you a point of reference. If you stand under one your location can be pinpointed in a landscape anywhere the tower is visible.
I'm glad she enjoyed it. My son's still obsessed with them - going on 3 years now. We make up stories about now about a water tower rocket ship exploring space. he equates the towers to rockets and I see no reason not to encourage his imagination...
Our son loves this video. He is crazy for water towers and thats all he ever talks about. All I can say is thank you to "Looney Tunes Back in Action" for making my boy a die hard water tower fan.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! My son has been literally obsessed with the things since he was 18 months old. He'll be 4 next month. As a baby, he used to request that we go to specific water towers by name - he knew all the nearby ones by heart and learned new ones after one visit! I probably spent $4,000 on gas feeding his habit!
There is something so eerie about them, love it :) x

my WT fixation is entering the red sector on the dial. I canna hold her !
I am writing a book featuring one : "forlorn way-marker in the wide grasslands, forsook onlooker of the incurious town" etc
I live in England UK. No WTs here baby
Had a girlfriend from Winston-Salen, NC at college. we never got the discussion round to my WT problem. Too late now, too late

Yup. And did you know that the names on the towers were originally put there to help small planes navigate in the days before radar and GPS?
And you thought it was a civic pride thing!

@lollonais They used them for water.

Thanks!! My niece Tia is a watertower fan. I've framed dozens of photo's for her bedroom not to mention the scrapbooks. So she loved this.
