It's funny how the song kind of bends in meaning between languages. My Italian is just OK but I know English and Spanish well. The Italian version is pretty open-ended, the English version veers more toward a sad parting and in Spanish it leans more toward a union that's about to be completed after a long time. I've never heard the authors (guys who wrote much of Bocell's stuff) talk about their inspiration though.
