@SuperM1998 I truly believe this exhaust is one of the best sounding exhausts on the market. After hearing it on a number of different vehicles, I am fairly convinced that the sound could not get much better. You might be able to get an exhaust that also sounds just as good, but the unique tone of the Buddy Club is just awesome. :)
hey man i got a lude and i was wondering my friend says not to get buddy club exhaust cause its way to loud and u will get pulled over but i really like this sound did u ever get pulled over
btw i going to get an aem v2 just gotta decide on the exhaust
@JelloNStuff It depends on where you live. If you live somewhere that cops pull people for loud exhausts, it is risky. In my experience the Buddy Club Pro Spec (SPECIFICALLY the BCPS on a 5th Gen Prelude) is NOT as loud as an Apexi N1. It is loud, just not as loud as the N1. The Buddy Club Spec III is too loud for street use in my opinion, but it's not available for the Prelude. I thought it was doable, but it's at the upper limit of noise in my opinion. The sound/tone is unbeatable though.
@JelloNStuff Basically, as long as you're getting the Buddy Club Pro Spec and you're not in an area where cops pulling people for loud exhausts is a normal thing, you'll be fine. If you know of people getting away with Apexi N1's on their Preludes, you'll be fine. If you keep your cat, I don't see you being pulled for it unless you're in a notorious area for being pulled. It's the only exhaust I've heard on the H22 that I absolutely LOVE though.
@mindsmirror i live in winnipeg mb i heard of some people getting pulled over but that just bad luck. i hope haha there is just one thing that concerns me i would risk the chance of getting pulled over cause i love the sound of buddy club any exhaust spec 3 or pro spec oringinaly i was going to get an rsx and get the buddy club spec 3 but my friend told me not to cause that is thee loudest exhaust and people will call you ricey so i decide on the prelude
@mindsmirror but the thing that concerns me is that did you ever drive your prelude in winter because the place i'm buying it from they said the buddy club pro spec muffler is made of light materials and could get holes in it very easily in winter and what kind of aem intake did you have??
the mechanic suggested i get the apexi n1 cause it wont get holes from winter but i saw some sound clips it aint bad but once they get to that high rpm it just sounds werid but really thxs alot for this info
@JelloNStuff I've never heard of it getting holes in it from being cold, but it is made of thinner stainless steel stock than many other exhausts. I've driven it in the winter, yes. Never had a problem. Never heard of a problem due to thin exhaust in the winter? They may be confusing exhaust systems. I don't think the Apexi N1 even uses stainless steel for any part other than the muffler, which is a problem in winter because of salting the roads and rust. The BCPS is full stainless.....
@mindsmirror its whut the mechanic said the materials are thinner then any exhaust n it could result in holes in the exhaust if not taken care of like wiping the ice n snow etc off it every week or so its either going to be the BCPS or the Skunk2 Mega Power Exhaust which i heard is not as loud and still deep
i would liek to know thou what kind of intake is it Aem v2?
@JelloNStuff Skunk 2 Mega Power is also excellent if that works better for you. Standard AEM Short Ram. I don't think the v2 is worth the additional money, but it's not like it's bad or anything either. Keep in mind, these are just bolt-ons. With the prelude they wont make a huge difference other than a really nice sound and better throttle response.
@mindsmirror the aem cold air intake is only 250 or so and aem v2 is 320 the only thing that stopping me from getting the v2 is that u can't drive it in rain cause my buddy had a v2 drove it in rain n cracked his engine block open or w.e cause it sucks up the rain iuno if that true i gotta ask mechanic
what does short ram do anyways compare to cold air. thxs for your time n help
After months of reading reviews listning to sounds clips I think I just found what im looking for. Great deep tone and pretty loud. Sounds great on a lude. thanks for the clip mindsmirror
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the clip and I think you'll be very happy with your purchase. I don't ever run into people running the BCPS and when you go WOT it will definitely surprise people who are used to Hondas that sound like crap.
A guy on here snagged the BCPS after seeing this as well, he sent me a message about how folks thought he had had a fully built motor because they didn't believe a stock H22 could sound that aggressive. It's my favorite exhaust for the Prelude, by FAR.
i agree with you mate, other exhausts for preludes apart from remus sound like crap. Im boardering on getting a pro spec III...my only concern is that it will attract attention from the police.
Whats the sound like when ur driving normally and not vtecing?? lol
It wasn't too loud for me but it's pretty loud obviously. If you want a quiet exhaust then this is not for you, but if you want the best sounding exhaust out there for a Prelude I highly suggest it.
If you've heard an Apex'i N1 then you've got a good idea of the volume (The Pro Spec may be a bit quieter actually), but the Buddy Club sounds FAR better. The Buddy Club Pro Spec actually sounds beautiful, whereas the N1 sounds like a ricer exhaust and has tons of "raspiness".
How do you break in the exhaust?
