Hey retard, it's not 1026GB! Even if formatting didn't take any space (no matter what filesystem), It would at most be 1024GB! But even so, I think it's less that that before formatting! It's all marketing. But in your case, formatted is 931.5GB, NOT 1026GB! DO some basic reading about computers!

Anyone can do this with an external drive, but a 1tb drive will not physically fit in the hard drive slot. At least not until they make them smaller. 640gb is the biggest internal drive you can have currently and that's what I upgraded my PS3's memory to.

1TB = 1024GB....Near enough all 1TB HDD show only 930GB of space, and I think this is due to the File System and OS only recognises 930GB even though it is all still there available for storage. I have got a 1TB external HDD and when it had nothing on it, it still only showed 930GB. My friend Ben also has got an internal 1TB HDD and also his one only recognises 930GB. Also the amount of storage depends on the HDD number of heads/platters, number of cylinders and sectors on the HDD magnetic disk.
