I cooked this dish like 3 weeks ago for the first time and trust me, since that I did it literally like 7-8 times.its just amazing and its good with almost anything.well done
@FamilyOfMan1975 This segment is usually part of either his Cook-a-long Live show or The F-Word. Obviously, during Cook-a-long Live, he's working with a lot of home chefs so he has to modify what he might do (have his staff roast the beets) for home chefs cooking with him. Alot of people don't like to cook/don't know how to cook. No need to burden them with one more thing to do (roasting/boiling beets) and better to let them know that they can buy pre-boiled beets.
@ofdiscordia I understand but he did say they are pre-cooked and that they BAKE them, which I doubt as I have worked with beetroot and only boiling them produces as much juice.
@barkleysound thats wat ive been thinking lately. saving up if i dont ever become rich enough lol, just to have him cook me and my partner a meal. would be amazin
dude its for a sunday lunch.. and it saves time. Gordon is one of the highest ranking michilen chefs, you really think he would buy bad packaged beets?
Anyone know the opening tune to this video?

@Rakloro How did you prepare the beetroot? Did you boil or bake? Cheers.
moonsafari200 2 weeks ago in playlist GR -makes it easy
@moonsafari200
when you buy a fresh beetroot, better to boil.than just follow the recipe.cheers

@Rakloro That's what I thought. Many tnx. I tried it with gorgonzola and it worked really well.

Why not toast the sesame seeds first, put them aside, then do the beetroot? Why used two pans?
reginaDeviant 4 months ago
@reginaDeviant because the oil that comes out of the seeds while toasting them is too strong to then cooks the beets in.
holdthelight11 1 month ago
@holdthelight11 OK, thanks, I would not have thought of seed oil being too strong.

Fascinating. This is a really good video, it never occurred to me to sauté the beetroots with olive oil and balsamic.

link40k 11 months ago 7
@link40k Aha, he said "toasted" but since he is Scottish with a british accent, it came out like "tested".
