How can a true God preach sacrificial love if he is concerned only about his self or his own glory and reward. Any other God is like Saddam Hussein. This is very characteristic of Christianity, not of religion in general. Jews, for instance, pray every saturday that "after everything has crumbled into oblivion / he will be alone, reigning, majestic". I have a friend. He goes to church every Sunday with his family. He does his best to help people in need. He keeps the Ten Commandments about as good as any other Christian. If he breaks one, he asks God to forgive him. And because of his devout faith, he hates himself and knows he is going to hell because of the simple truth that he is a gay man. Is that comfort? Are his family comforted knowing he's going to burn for eternity?

There are two things in discussion here: What is, and what ought to be. You feel a god that won't share his immortality is no better than a tyrant. I say a god that shares immortality, but directs most of it towards eternal punishment, to be infinitely below Saddam Hussein.
Think of it... you can't fathom life without eternal reward... but you can live with billions of people living in eternal agony.... That proves we condition ourselves to accept anything, no matter how low.

The very fact that you can call God lower than a tyrant shows that you have moral judgements too, just like God. Well, a God who does not judge between good and evil would be less than you . But God who is perfectly Holy has to judge sin. This "tyrant" who will judge you one day, placed this horrific punishment on His only Son who did not deserve paying for your sin. He did this out of love. If you lay any blame at His feet it would be for the free will for you to choose to reject Him.

This is very characteristic of Christianity, not of religion in general. Jews, for instance, pray every saturday that "after everything has crumbled into oblivion / he will be alone, reigning, majestic". This certainly feels a lot more pious, to me: their sense of hope is centered not in their own survival as individuals, but in the eternity of their god.
Maybe you should ask yourself whether you love your god, or the immortality you expect from him.

Sleeping is like dying. The only difference is that our bodies wake up with most of our memories from the previous day. What we call ourselves is just a set of memories animating a body. But there are memories of us in other people too. This is how they can dream about us.

In the end, the human mind is not individual, but a continuum extending through all humans who ever lived and who will ever live. In this sense, until we go extinct, nobody will ever truly die. Only some memories will be lost. As most of our own memories end up lost at the end of the day, anyway. To be alive is as much to forget as it is to remember.

I could not find light, truth, joy or peace through partying, dabbling in the occult or any other pleasure. But when I heard the message of Jesus Christ preached, it hit my heart like a sledge hammer and with one prayer to accept him, my life was instantly filled with everything I only dreamed of. To an Atheist, there are plenty of things in life to give it meaning. We find joy in life and we find a purpose. This notion that Atheists wander thru life as depressed zombies is honestly offensive. I do and have known many moral and happy Atheists.
You fail to understand; to an Atheist, we aren't "missing" anything in the first place, therefor we are not depressed about missing anything. God is unnecessary for happiness or morality and those things are quite possible without him.

Woah, friend, loaded video full of weasel words. "Doomed?" "Hopeless grave?" Most Atheists would not use such words because "hopeless" implies lack of "hope." If, as an Atheist, one does not philosophically require "hope," then one is not "hopeless" because they aren't lacking anything.
Atheists do not think they are "doomed" or heading to a "hopeless grave." These are judgments you yourself are projecting onto them.
To an Atheist, god is not necessary to give life meaning.

You know, it's funny you're talking about how atheists wouldn't take care of other humans when in need and such but what's the reality.
The US for example is about 92% of cristians (ok, up to date it's 88%), still if someone there is deadly sick or is badly damaged or so, you get him to the hospital... And first of all: if the person doesn't have the money for operations and so: "Be gone, we don't need you, you won't bring us any good anyway."

First of all, the USA is the most generous nation on the Earth. This is fact. Might have something to do with all of those Christians. Second. Canada has socialized medicine and the people hate it. Many of them come down to the USA for treatment. Third, you can drive 45 minutes from my house to Cook County Hospital and get free medical if you are not even a citizen. you are under the impression that atheists care about a "hopeless grave". One problem i have with religion is the fear of death. You fear life ending, and that being it. I know when i die, that is it for me. Because i am so insignificant, my life becomes that much more precious, and important. Also, I want you and others to understand something that is easily stereotyped. Eternal life is great, it is awesome, but I responded to the preaching of the gospel because that powerful message grabbed my heart and shook me to the core! It was life changing! I wanted forgiveness and I wanted Jesus Christ with all my heart, and on the day I accepted him, I passed from death to life and my eternal life started on that day 24 years ago. You cannot compare atheists to Stalin and pretend leaders of the rest of the world, for all of history, have not been just as bad, if not worse.

1. I don't represent other religions, only Christianity. 2. Those in the past or present who have killed or oppressed in the name of Christianity were not obeying Christ or the Bible. I am sure you and all your friends are true Christians, (but what Christian ever claims otherwise) so I cannot separate you from any other Christian around the world. For all I know, you are no different from the ones who think jews and muslims will burn in hell, homosexuality is a sin, and women should have their clitorises removed. What makes you different is what you do, and as i don't know you, you saying you are a good Christian is just liek any of them saying, "No, we are good Christians."

And lastly, you are a Christian, I am an atheist. I have the capability to accept that I may not be right about anything. I accept the fact that God may in fact exist. I acknowledge that I could be completely wrong. Science cannot prove or disprove the existence of God. You on the other hand are a "true" Christian and therefor already have your answers laid out before you. You cannot be wrong. You know the truth. Why bother arguing with someone who thinks like that. Im sorry but Im outa here.

Don't be so harsh on them. The bible says that we are born blind. Without God, all of us would be in the same place.

Thanks, I understand what you are saying and I am normally more patient. After many debates,I guess I am just sick of them accusing us of not understanding the monkey story and yet they refuse to look at the evidence such as Daniels perfect prediction of the major world powers to come and the death of messiah before the destruction of the second temple. Here is truth: every person on this earth is a sinner. Romans 3:10 says "As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one." Romans 6:23 says " For the wages of sin is death; but the Gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." And John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
