Nerds get all pissed off because they do not understand the meaning of the word press conference. It is meant for the press, who publish articles, articles are read by investors. Stats and numbers are important. Core gamers have all kinds of info on upcoming games anyway these days. This is more of a mainstream approach that presents things that amazingly do attract the non-gamer's attention.

E3 is THE spot to showcase new, upcoming software, and yet 90% of what they showed was the same rehashed shit, and good stuff, but most of which we already knew about.
