Proof he is the anti-Christ... He gave a speech at the Berlin Gates in front of Satan's Throne while he was not the US President, and "unqualified" to give such a speech. I knew then that we are indeed facing an opponent wolf from within... one who will seek to destroy our nation from within.
That's what kind of sucks about people like Obama; if villains were easy to identify, they'd never be able to get the power they need to do their evil deeds. You can spot a villain a mile away when they wear a mask and that severely limits the damage they can do. The real dangerous villains are the ones who approach us as friends with promises of hope and change, because that can be very appealing to those who refuse to look below the surface.
I do have to disagree with you on one point, however; Obama is not inept, he knows exactly what he is doing and has been preparing for this his entire life.
If Obama didn't know what he was doing, then statistically he would accidentally do the right thing about 50% of the time. The fact that he has not done a single thing correct since he took office is proof that he honestly thinks what he is doing is the best option for us and that makes him all the more dangerous!
@williambellor But Obamessiah was easy to spot, for any who did not Want to suspend their disbelief; or for those who had not decided long ago that politicians should not be required to speak honestly about themselves. The warning signs were there. Democrats decided to keep quiet about the massive vote fraud in the primaries where Hillary was robbed of the nomination. And who really believed that Ocommie never heard Rev. Wright preach any of those radical anti-American sermons.
Agreed! The writing was on the wall & people like Hannity & O'Reilly had this guy pegged from the start. The problem is that the left has been very successful in convincing their followers to only listen to them & never ever look at Fox News or Talk Radio. Many people never found out who this guy was until he got elected & I blame the main-stream media for this. Hannity was screaming about Wright & Ayres for a year before the MSM even mentioned it & then they simply dismissed it.
Just watch it at "chrisgeorge15" videos here in youtube, it is a powerful movie with inspiring story that will change your marriage life like never been before. May God bless Pastor Alex Kendrick for directing and producing this movie.
who said anything about marriage? and there is that concept of prearranged marriages in some cultures, so it's not so bizarre that i am enamored with a man i barely know. secondly, he is already happily married! he is simply the epitome of a man that no other can hold a candle to.
Not according to the other 72,000 people who watched and enjoyed this video. You probably didn't like it because it correctly deflated your paper messiah. BTW, the video was produced by Sean Hannity for the Hannity & Colmes show, Fox News only broadcast the clip as part of that show. You do understand the difference between a show and the network that broadcasts it, Right?
Intended for humorous content only and for the benefit of obama fans who like himself, think that public display of patriotism toward America is innapropriate:
I pledge allegiance to the coming political messiah and to the socialist vision for which he stands. One nation, under Obama, with increasing taxation and diminishing freedom for all.
"I pledge allegiance to the coming political messiah and to the socialist vision for which he stands. One nation, under Obama, with increasing taxation and diminishing freedom for all."
According to both the Old and New Testaments, the Beast/Antichrist will be a charismatic speaker who shall talk of peace "and through peace shall destroy many" and his arrival shall be proclaimed by false prophets (like maybe Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan?)
Barack, the son of a Muslim goatherd, represents the Chicago zipcode 60606 in the Senate.
I prefer to avoid labels like "Antichrist" or "The Beast" when describing people with whom I disagree. I think that label is as invalid of an argument as Liberals who label Republicans or George Bush as Hitler, Nazis or Fascists. There are plenty of real issues to criticize Obama about, including his associations with Wright and Farrakhan, to say nothing of his far-left belief system, but calling him the devil is unnecessary and unproductive.
The Rethugs are clearly jealous. We have a candidate that pwns on both style & substance, and all they do is peddle Old Man McCain, who rants about oil drilling and tire guages while offering up his wife at Sturgis.
Leave it up to Fox to denigrate someone, anyone, like this. I have heard it said that Obama is a rockstar but nothing about a Jesus Complex. This is purely ridiculous.
Let me attempt to educate you on this issue. This was not Fox News but Sean Hannity that broadcast this. Hannity is not a news reader, but a political commentator who presents his views with the conservative prospective. This is no different that Jon Stewart making fun of President Bush or other conservatives on his show. I don't see you accusing Comedy Central of denigrating George Bush for Jon Stewart's words and likewise, Fox is not to blame for Sean Hannity's words.
Hate to tell you this but Jon Stewart is a comedian and I don't put any faith in what he says. As a matter of fact I think I have seen his show like maybe twice.
Don't allow yourself to get confused between comedians and commentary because at it most basic level, it's individuals presenting their own personal point of view from their own political prospective. But if that is too much of a leap for you replace Jon Stewart with any host on NPR or Air America. At least with Fox News, your taxes aren't going to pay for their network.
Don't we all represent our personal point of view? I know the difference between a comedian and a so-called political pundit. I don't listen to either. Nor do I listen to Air America. I do think independently. NPR I respect some of their shows like on AIDS and the environment.
You're deflecting attention away from the real issue. You blamed Fox News for denigrating Obama in this video. Fox is no more responsible for what Hannity airs than Comedy Central is responsible for Jon Stewart's words. That's the point and changing the subject isn't confusing anyone! At least with Hannity you know that you are getting opinion from a specific political prospective; can't say that about Stewart, NPR or Air America who all claim to be middle fo the road.
I don't expect a politician of either party to be our lord; that's not their job. Their jobs, according to the Constitution, is to protect our rights and stay out of our lives and I will support any politician who convinces me that he/she believes that. If no candidate goes on record as believing that, I will vote the lesser of two evils, hence my reluctant support for McCain! A slow crawl towards socialism is better than a full-speed run.
Several months ago I was worried that Obama might actually get elected, but every day that passes, he does or says something else stupid that is proving to people that he is completely unqualified for the office of CIC. McCain is of the same party as an unpopular president & is running a pretty poor campaign. Obama is the golden boy of the Democrat party, has the entire dinosaur media on his side and yet the two are polling virtually neck & neck. Maybe the people aren't as stupid as they seem!
The Great American Experiment - BHO. Soon the world will see that he cannot walk on water, he cannot raise the dead and he cannot bring world peace. He will however become the biggest American socialist since FDR and a bigger failure on foreign policy than Carter. Your Second Coming, worshipped in every publication printed, will crash harder than his meteoric rise and YOU the naive voting public will have to answer for your candidate. Hope springs eternal for higher taxes and Iranian nukes!
The North American jet that flew Obama and his traveling crew around for much of the primary season was refurbished with new seats and power for each passenger a must on the campaign trail. And the plane that once had an American flag on its tail now sports the Obama "O." "Change We Can Believe In" and the candidate's website are splayed across both sides of the fuselage, making this 757 anything but inconspicuous.
Gee, thanks for stopping by with your brilliant and insightful comments. I really thought I had this whole Democrat vs. Republican thing figured out, but you have shown me the light.
Free speeech is on thing. Idiocy is another? Cancer of America?..... Now THAT is funny! Is the NY Times the "CANCER of AMERICA", because of it's satirical cover of Obama last month.....of course you are probably more eJucated then me......
Actually, sail, it was the New Yorker magazine that had the satirical cover of Obama that caused him and his followers to get their panties in a knot. But you are correct about the New York Times being the cancer of America given their unbelieveable liberal bias and their undying love for Barack Obama.
no, gkd, we do not want to kill the Obamessiah. Because watching the mainstream media's flabbergasted expressions where their boy gets his biracial ass handed to him in November is going to be a lot more fun.
Fred Sanford, George Jefferson, Louise, Lionel, even Tom and Helen Willis are voting for McCain. James and Florida Evans, Willona, even J.J. (A la 'Kid Dy-no-mite'), are voting for McCain. You should, too. What would Archie Bunker do?
... You like tv dont you, I DO TO!!! I LOVE GOOD TIMES, THE JEFFERSONS, SANFORD AND SON, AND ALL IN THE FAMILY, yet I like to think who grady would vote for, since I know aunt ester will prob. vote for Mccain lol!
This Jerk makes me physically sick to my stomach...it is so obvious that he has never worked at a real job in his life...His whole life has been influcenced by radicals starting with his mother(SOCIALIST)and it has continued with the likes of Jerimiah Wright...Malcom X....the list is too great to print here....Even Jessee wants to cut his @##'s off....just wait till the good stuff starts to come out about him...He is going down by a LANDSLIDE !!!!
It is not even August, and the mainstream media is tanking and desperately hungry, and they can only hate McCain a little bit, and the Obama campaign is this big honking zephyr of lies. By October the pundits and reporters - not to mention the special interests - will be on that action like the NOAA on Hurricane Hugo. Already there is a mountain of quotes from Obama, his wife, his pastor and his friends which should make any American's hair stand up on end.
Clinton had to deal with his bimbo eruptions, women who were impolitic enough to appear publicly as human beings, but Obama's achilles heel is even more in the theme of classic tragedy: HE is the bimbo, the nitwit, the increasingly obvious fraud. In his public presence he unveils his very unlikeable self. If he could somehow manage his public image, dole it out in a controlled manner, he might be able to squelch the nasty truths until election day. But America in 2008does not work that way.
And how does raising taxes help the economy? I would like one of you genius liberals to enlighten me as to how the government taking more and more money from guys like me helps the economy. Because I would think that the more taxes are increased, the less the people have to spend, and the economy as a whole suffers. Please enlighten me on this if some of you are so smart.
The DEMOCRATIC Congress just recently voted to give Illegal Aliens welfare, etc.!! They've never paid in one red cent to social security & we'll probably never see ours.
king, do you just spit out info to boost your paranoia or is your ranting for somebody else's benefit? The crystals in a glass of water will become murky when a person says terrible things to it, humans are composed mainly of water. Replicans are composed of murky plans but theres hope for you yet.
Aside from that, I bet there are young Iraqi women who are happy they can walk the streets without being taken to one of Uday's rape rooms. You can be damn sure the Kurds were happy to see Saddam go.
William, I also liked you're points on Iraq. We tried to cooperate with the world, Bush tried to cooperate. But when the UN chose to bury their heads in the sand when faced with what was a very real threat at the time, we had to act. And we succeeded. US deaths in Iraq are at their lowest point in five years. The Iraqi govt and military is getting organized and is assuming more responsibility every day. Iraqi Olympians compete knowing they won't be tortured when they come home.
Actually, the Iraqis have been reinstated. Iraq will be sending two athletes to compete in Beijing. More will be sent if another participant drops out in either rowing, archery, or wightlifting. The two Iraqi athletes will compete in track and field. I wish them the best. It'd be nice to see them get a medal.
I guess I missed that story, but I'm glad it happened. It will do wonders for the morale of the Iraqi people. Sort of a "Welcome To The World" ceremony.
Excellent points, william. In regards to the economy, don't you find it funny that Obama, the man liberals tout as best for the economy, want to RAISE taxes. He also wants to raise the capital gains tax by 50% Granted, I sucked at economics when I was in school, but I don't follow how raising taxes is going to help the economy. I'll take McCain, the anti-pork crusader, over Obama, the tax-and-spend socialist, any day of the week.
It doesn't take a degree in economics to understand that the economy is stronger when people spend their own money than when the government takes that money and wastes it. Raising taxes hurts the economy EVERY TIME. Cutting taxes helps the economy EVERY TIME. In fact, cutting taxes results in more government revenue because when business is successful, they make more profit and pay more taxes.
actually williambellor...you may need a degree in economics to understand why you are dead wrong. It's not just about cutting or raising taxes: it's about which people you target. Bush "cut" taxes, but how exactly has that turned out? Huge tax cuts rarely pay for themselves (see the 1980s), and the deficit balloons as a result. Middle class cuts, balanced rates for the rich, and domestic programs that provide blue-collar jobs is a great formula for economic recovery.
W failed because while he did the right thing in cutting taxes, the Congress (led unfortunately by liberal Republicans) increased spending at the highest rate in history. This is why the Republicans got their clocks cleans in 2006, not because the Democrats had a better plan, but because Republican voters stayed home. That trend should continue in 2008 and Obama should be 15 points ahead in the polls. The fact that he isn't is proof of Obama's unsuitability for Commander Ii Chief
Regarding Reagan, he did all the right things, but I must remind you that the President does not write laws or spending bills, that is the Congress, who, I must remind you, was controlled by the Democrats. All the President can do is approve or veto the bill. Democrats get around this by attaching unrelated spending projects to necessary bills that the President must sign. Give us a true conservative President and the "Line Item Veto" and watch our economy soar.
All the while the UN dragged its collective feet on its own resolution, giving further examples of why we have a hard time taking the world body seriously.
As for the recession, I find it funny how people wern't claiming we were in a recession until the primaries really got started. Now all of a sudden, we have a recession. While I do not deny the economy is not as great as it has been, I suspect the "recession" has more to do with media-inspired panic than actual economic downturn.
Regarding Iraq, we did not end the war in 1991, we simply agreed to a cease fire. The conditions of that cease fire were that Saddam abide by no-fly zones in the north and south; a condition he repeatedly violated and Saddam allowing in UN inspectors to verify that he was complying with the terms of the cease fire & discontinuing his weapons program. Saddam could have prevented the invasion of his country, the death of his sons & his arrest & execution by simply keeping his word.
If he had WMD's in the past, but destroyed them, tell the inspectors where the remains were, let them verify that they were the remains and then he could have told the inspectors to get the hell out of his country. There were ample opportunities for Saddam to comply with the wishes of the international community, but he chose to play games and now he's dead!
Instead, he chose to block the efforts of the UN to verify the conditions of the cease fire. If he did not have WMD's, he sure made it look like he did by kicking the weapons inspectors out of his country whenever they got too close. We know he had WMD's in the past because he used them on his own people and the people of Iran. If he didn't have them, he should have allowed the inspectors to continue to search and prove that there were no WMD's.
As for the economy, the two issues that are the causes of the bad economy are high gas prices and the weak housing market and with both of these issues, the Democrats are to blame. Gas prices are high because democrats won't allow us to harness our own energy reserves. The housing market is weak because Democrats whines a few years ago that it was discrimination that too few home mortgages were being issued to poor people
As a result of the threat of Democrats attempting to regulate the mortgage market, home mortgage companies decided to come up with the sub-prime schemes to enable them to give mortgages to people who couldn't afford them. In both cases, well-meaning government interference had unintended consequences and create cures that were worst than the disease. Most people are intelligent to see trends in things, but not Democrats, they allow government to interfere and never see the damage they cause.
This is so wrong. I worked with Countrywide. Guess what? Big conglomerate that was run by middle of the road conservatives who cared nothing about people but the bottom dollar. Angelo Mozilo got over $140,000,000 on the B of A buyout. Another company he started and owned went bellyup leaving lots of people without money. That company? Indymac Bank. Most of the Democrats I know were savvy enough to see that this would happen. Regardless, this is not a Republican/Democrat debacle.
Surprise surprise, a business is in business to make money, oh the horrors! Despite what the Democrats tell you, Countrywide is not the villain, they were simply attempting to provide a service, produce a profit for their shareholders & pay their employees; one of which apparently hates them, but lacked the courage to quit. This IS a Democrat problem, because it wouldn't have happened if the Democrats hadn't whined about how unfair it was that people who can't afford houses, don't get mortgages.
Democrats don't tell me nothing. I live in the heart of where Countrywide is. Paying their employees is a joke. I was one of them until they sent the bulk of their loans offshore and laid off over a hundred people in one area. Why is it okay for a business to make money off the little people but not okay for them to be helped in owning their own homes?
It isn't, but this is a problem for the free market to figure out, not the government. If Countrywide didn't pay that well, why didn't you quit and get a better job? I gotta figure you that knew you weren't that valuable of an employee and knew you couldn't do any better. Regarding CW ripping off their customers, the free market deals with problems like this better than the government. If a company rips off it's customers, they develop a bad reputation and they lose or go out of business.
Why do you think that CW was bought out? There are all kinds of lawsuits against them and Indymac, including an entire State going after them! I'm not that stupid, I do have a better job where (before we were bought out) employees were respected.
In the end, government action always makes things worse because government doesn't have to live within a budget like the business world does. They don't have to turn a profit, they don't have to satisfy their shareholders and you lack the ability to say you don't want to pay for it all because they can throw you in jail if you don't pay. If you truly want to prevent companies from moving over-seas, then help them remain profitable by going on record saying they should pay NO corporate taxes.
No, I don't agree with you. My State is broke and has reduced the state employees to the federal minimum wage salary (which is $2 less than the state minimum wage). The State and Congress wants these people to own up to screwing up.
Back to real life which has to take precedence. My brother has been rushed to the hospital with heart issues with little health insurance (company doesn't make enough money for it) and my mother just died about 3 weeks ago.
When the economy slows down, the hurt felt by the private sector is usually much more severe; with people losing their jobs rather than just s simply cut in pay. Government employees should be happy that they still have a job because it could be much worse. It doesn't mean that they employees screwed up, it means that the politicians spent more money than they had.
Regarding your mother and brother, you have my sympathy. I hope your brother gets better.
Just one more answer, thank you for the thoughts. Also, unemployment in my area (along with the economy) is getting up there. People are losing their jobs. As for the political pundits, I listen to nobody. The only opinion that counts is my own. Comedy Central is just that, comedic. Fox is supposed to be a serious news source. That, alone, is a big difference. I watch neither.
The plan you've been following led you to war and a recession.
OK, first off, the war. It was the intelligence stated by the world about Saddam's alleged WMD programs that led us to war. We felt, that in this age of NBC weapons we could not risk a known enemy of the US having such weapons. And technically, we were still at war. The war had never officially ended, we just chose to put it to bed. cont.
And now, we have Iran, a nation run by religious nutjobs bent on the destruction of America and Israel. You honestly think we're going to talk them down when they are so close to getting the ultimate weapon? Are you blind? No, if they get nukes are get too close to it, we have to carpet-bomb their facilities. That's how Israel put an end to Iraq's nuclear ambitions. We have to let them know that we have the muscle to back up words. Diplomacy is only effective when it is backed up by force.
Europe thought they could sway Hitler with diplomacy. Didn't exactly work out that way, did it? Europe talked while Hitler prepared for war. And were it not for the U.S., the whole of Europe would be speaking German at this point. That's the thing you don't get. Diplomacy is a good tool, but at the end of the day, it is force that acts as the ultimate deterrent. You think the Soviets were kept at bay by nice words? It was more that they didn't want to see Moscow turned into a parking lot.
McCain ha, why didn't he win the last election if he's so heroic? Why are Repubicans ignoring that McCain changes position every year? First he's for the veterans then votes against bills that would provide more benefits for them. McCain has no clue about the economy but criticizes Obama for stating his policy. McCain said he would not run a smear campaign but so far he's in charge of one. The plan you've been following led you to war and a recession.
Hold up there king, the world is one place. Seen from the sky there are no borders except in your mind. If Iran attacked the US... The change is supposed to be about dropping paranoia and dealing with others in an open, diplomatic manner. Only a president who has been a president has experience. McCain has no experience being a president, he's a wannabe like all candidates. WE all survived wars or we wouldn't be here, does that make us all fit to be president? Everybody makes mistakes.
OK, jazzy, let me clear a few things. Do you honestly think that the nations of the world don't maintain borders? Seriously. Do you think nations like Canada, England, and France don't believe in sovreignty and national identity? The world is one place, but we are not one people, we do not have one world government, and people don't want to have one world government. Is it paranoia to take a firm stance against the malcontents of the world like Iran?
I am of the firm belief that the mainstream media's unbelievable bias towards Obama will finish him. People don't like it when the news turns into a pep rally for one guy. I strongly believe that the Dan Rather/fake memo controversy killed Kerry's campaign. A prominent member of the mainstream media was caught trying to directly influence a Presidential election. I predict the voters will vote for a real American hero over some prissy socialist who can't stick to a position to save his life.
you gotta be white!!!!!! your saying a blk man is getting more love from the media that a white guy, come on, the only reason why the edia loves obama is because people find hope in him, we are all tired of the same old shit happening in washington. you cant be serious, dont forget not even 40 years ago this would be un heard of!!!!!!
lboy, the real reason the media has had a love affair for Obama is because he's a minority and he emphasizes all the creepy leftist ideals they stand for. It's no secret that the mainstream media is liberally biased, been that way for decades. I do think it is a nice thing that we've come so far that a black man can run for President. I do not think it is a good thing when that man is some airheaded leftist who wants to appease America's enemies and frequently plays the race card.
Really, what kind of idiots nominate a lawyer in his forties who hasn't even finished his first term in the Senate and has no executive experience whatsoever? Well, I have news for you. Obama is not a leader. Not even close. He is a media creation. He is a man who was touted as a candidate since is first day as a Senator. The media covers his numerous gaffes and does their best to silence criticism of Obama. They make no effort to hide their bias. So much for objective journalism.
I find it funny how liberals like to portray us conservatives as simple-minded. That's liberal elitism for you. So convinced are they of their superior intelligence that they can't possibly be wrong and anyone who disagrees with them must be stupid. Never mind all of the gaffes their boy Obama has made. If it is anyone who is simple-minded, it is liberals. From believingtheir own nation is the menace to being so naive as to think we can win over Iran and North Korea with love and flowers.
You can be sure that if they manage to sabotage the war effort in Iraq, their next order of business will be to undercut the war in Afghanistan. Then, they will stick their noses up the air and talk about "cycles of violence," explain that war never solves anything, and call for more "dialogue" and examination of "why they hate us." That's what liberals do. It's how they think and as sure as night follows day, it's the direction that they're going to slowly but surely move in.
All this talk from the left about how Iraq is taking resources we need in Afghanistan and "The real war on terror is in Afghanistan," etc, etc, is about as real as the left's support for the troops.
What the left really wants to do is curl the country up in fetal position and allow Al-Qaeda to take unlimited free shots at us while a bunch of snobby Barack Obama clones pontificate about how we brought it on ourselves.
You want to follow the Obamessiah like lemmings off a cliff, be my guest. But you will forgive me if I do not feel as suicidal. I'm choosing substance over style, steak over sizzle.
I would much rather have a safe, secure, strong America than good relations with Europe. Independent strength is what will make us strong, prosperous, and secure, not kissing up to the UN. That's why I like McCain. He knows what it is like to fight, Obama doesn't. Obama is a product of affirmative action and political correctness. If he was a white guy, he would not have ever been considered for the nomination. He's inexperienced, gaffe-prone, and arrogant to the max.
Those simple-minded warmongers McCain and Bush seem to have a following as simple-minded as they are. The world is weary of the old tactics and of America telling everyone how great a country it is. Obama is a message to the world that even America is going to behave itself on the world stage instead of breaking its own laws to push itself on weaker nations.
And tell me, jazzy. Why is it important for the rest of the world to like us? Why should we give a damn about what we think. Do you think that if Iran iniated a nuclear attack against the U.S., the rest of the world would lift a finger to help us? The important thing for an American leader is to look after the interests of America, not the UN or the "international community". Who cares what the world thinks? What has the "international community" ever done for us?
Really, though. This is a pretty funny parody of the way the press and the left in general have essentially deified Obama. The bad thing is that Obama is starting to believe his own hype. And that should scare a lot of people.
Barack Obama said Friday that persuading NATO allies to contribute more troops to Afghanistan could lead to U.S. troop cuts and help improve the U.S. economy, with reduced military expenditure being diverted into tax cuts to help middle class families.
OK, this plan is the most stupid thing I've heard. NATO isn't going to send more troops simply because Obama asks.
I like how the Dems are always the first to go for defense cuts, but whine when they're called soft on national security.
Thank you, William. It is nice to find a sane indivdual who hasn't contracted Bush Derangement Syndrome or fallen under the spell of the Obama personality cult.
WK. there are more of us than you might think. It might not seem like it because the media only talks about the people fainting at Obama rallys. Bush may not have been the perfect President and I may not be a huge fan of McCain, but I would choose either of them over Obama in a heartbeat. This should be a year that the Democrats clean house, but even they are starting to be wary of him. I guess we can thank the media for covering up his negatives until it was too late to nominate anyone else.
One of Obama's advisors countered criticism of the European trip by stating:
"When the President goes and gives a speech overseas, it is not a
political speech or rally."
"But he is not President," a reporter noted.
There you have it. The election, the inauguration, everything else is no more than ritual. Obama thinks he's already president, and will do whatever he damn well pleases, while the proles (that's us) fall to their knees and thank the heavens that they lived to see it.
He is arrogant to the point of neing egomaniacal. The Iraq surge being the biggest point as he still denounces it and refuses to admit its success.
He has no experience. He hasn't even completed his first term and yet people somehow think he's qualified to be President. That's like saying someone who's been a teacher for two years is qualified to be the Secretary of Education.
And again, priorzola, you cite deception, but do not offer proof. The left has been howling about deception but can't back it up.
Mrbronze, it is not that people are scared of hope. It is what that Obama represents that scares us. A man who can't hold a position to save his life. A man who has made gaffes to numerous to mention. A man the press is swooning over, hurting their crwedibility. A man who associates with racists and terrorists and has trouble denouncing them when it comes out
At some point you're going to have a connection with the false projection of fear that you hold for Obama and the same emotional fear-mongering that got you to support the misguided venture into IRAQ. Your paranoia is not only healthy but it CAN GET YOU, US SOLDIERS, and innocent IRAQIS killed. This isn't a case of _my bad". This is a case of willful deception and if you keep buying into the same neo-cons who deceived you once (shame on them) a second time (shame on you). WILLFUL ignorance!
check out PNAC's (Project for a New American Century) imperialist plan to takeoever Iraq BEFORE 9-11. When you go to war; you triple check your facts and you attempt ALL options (ie diplomacy--as we are with Iran and North Korea) first. We did not attempt any form of diplomacy with Iraq because, if you remember, there was NO CONTACT w Tariq Aziz (foreign minister) before the build up. If you are still under the delusion that the Iraq invasion was not a foregone conclusion then you're a fool.
I would have aggressively pursued BIN LADEN in the one place I know he was, not the one place I knew he WAS NOT. AGAIN, there will always be rogue states (especially when we spew off BS rhetoric like "axis of evil" and stage troops in their nearby countries to reinforce the threat). A CLUE, it's called imperialism and if we have the right to act tough and self-righteous when are really only operating under selfish concerns, other nations do as well. STOP imposing threats or deal w/ consequences.
The "axis of evil" comment was truth. If you really think that Iraq, Iran, and North Korea had benign intentions, you are really deluded. Bush called a spade a spade and lefties like you cry about it. 9/11 happened because Clinton and those like him thought that we didn't need to be proactive in fighting terrorism. That terrorism needed to be dealt with as a crime and not a war. People can say what they like about Bush, but there has not been a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11
...and what if, as the entire world thought at the time, Saddam had a WMD program and passed a nuclear, biological or chemical weapon onto Bin Laden who set it off in the US and didn't kill 3,000, but 3,000,000 Americans? It's always easy to be the Monday Morning Quarterback and say what you would have done, but true leadership rarely has the benefit of hindsight.
The fatal flaw in the liberal approach to fighting terrorism is that it is reactive by nature. 9/11 happens so the answer is to arrest Bin Laden and then it's over. Unfortunately terrorism is bigger than one man and the only way to prevent it is to be proactive by eliminating the terrorists ability to recruit members and get weapons. That is why Iraq was invaded. Democrats used to understand that, but now are more interested in getting elected than protecting the nation. They can't be trusted!
when we finally admit it and stop pussy-ffoting around about garnering respect through anything other than force then I'll buy what you're saying. THIS means we have a cowardly form of EMPIRE where even most Americans are oblvious to it. But the world isn't and if we don't respect the now soverign rule of al-Maliki in Iraq when he asks us to leave then we will prove once again that we have no problem engagin in ILLEGAL occupations for our own imperialist means.
You claim we are imperialists. If so, then where are our colonies. Do you see us claiming Iraq as ours. Planting American flags everywhere and claiming ownership over the country? Maybe you should fully understand the word's definition and context before you decide to go shouting everywhere merely because you dislike our foreign policy.
when you maintain force (even through puppet regimes) with your own military and/or corporate backing to force other nations to do your bidding than that is called IMPERIALISM. Before mpires that had balls called themselves such. Those that want to feign an image of righteousness do not call themselves imperialist. That doesn't mean that they are not. It only means they want to have it both ways. They want to think they are special through "god's providence" but USE FORCE to invoke their will.
And what would you have done? Dither over the uncertainty over whether one of the world's most notorious dictators had WMDs? And you probably support the same with Iran. Must Israel become a nuclear wasteland before you and your ilk get the message that there are evil men in this world and they are determined to do evil things and they will not stop just because we talk nice to them? Get a clue
It's funny how lefties like you like to label Iraq a puppet regime. I suppose Saddam was better in your eyes. At least the Iraqi athletes don't have to worry about being tortured this time if they lose at the Olympics.
No Saddam was a puppet regime we lost control of when we no longer had a use for him. Left to his own devices at the beginning of his reign (ie. no US funding or weaponry) he would have come and gone just like every Iraqi leader since the beginning of Iraq. Iraq was part of our imperialist intentions until the Soviets went away and we left them heavily armed and with regional axes to grind. And why wasn't Saudi Arabia included in "the axis of evil". Selective moral outrage, that's why.
If we had let the Useless Nations have their way, Saddam would either still be oppressing his people, living in a luxury apartment in Paris, or sitting in a cell at the Hague. And you will forgive me if I sound sarcastic when I mention the Hague. Considering they were in year five of Milosevic's trial when he died in his cell of a heart attack, you will forgive me if I have trouble taking the Hague seriously. Small wonder we let the Iraqis hang Saddam. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
Also, considering that Israel ceded land to the Palestinians and Hamas just used it as a further staging point for rocket attacks against Israeli towns like Sderot, I can't really blame them for being reluctant to make further concessions to those animals. It is appalling to expect Israel to commit suicide by making concessions towards a people that have no interest in peace. Hamas does not want to live next to Israel, they want to destroy Israel. I fail to see why that is so hard to fathom.
While I love Obama,I find this video hilarious.I just think it's so funny that the GOP attacks Obama because he is a popular, loved politician unlike the current president who couldn't draw a crowd with a pencil.I also find funny the typical GOP response to Obama which is to attack his patriotism, try to establish him as un-american,and to label him as a possible muslim. The millions of rednecks in the red states are going to eat up the propoganda and go to the voting booths in droves.
I wonder at the future of our constitutional republic as we know it, that fellow Americans could be so naive and gullible as to willingly vote for an obvious charlatan like B. Hussein Obama... his defining qualities for his devoted followers are his anti-Americanism, racism, socialist policies, and his absolute goal to see America diminished in the world.
Don't lose spirit! Americans are smarter than they sometime appear; they simply need a reminder of how bad things can get when Democrats have complete power. Remember that 4 disastrous years of Carter got us 8 years of Reagan. Republicans have not done the best job of adhering to conservative principles and this year should be a slam-dunk for Obama, but the truth is that despite all the obstacles facing us (including a hostile media), McCain is still running neck and neck with Obama.
This might very well be the beginning of the end... The bible talks about the nations coming together and Obamas Socialist values ring perfect in the ears of Europeans. Its truly unnerving. In fact, revelations says the antichrist will come off to the world as a savior to the nations...
This man really scares me. He is way more than he comes off as people will find that out once he's in office.
Listen carefully hopefull ones. If thou dast criticize the chosen one, if thou are that brave, then bear witness to my words, you of such audacity of bravery.
If thy balls offend thee, then pluck them out, even as the villian Jesse Jackson dare to say of the chosen child's balls.
Pluck thy offending body parts from thy body, so that thee may be nuetered, and then go quietly with the media and Obama into the great hope of the future. Yes thee can pluck thy balls from thy body and comply.
If thou speaketh against the chosen one, after he is ordained leader of the world, thou shalt be cast into the bowels of hell.
So repent sinners against the chosen one. The one true citizen of the world shall first be president of the county USA, than shall he be president of the EU, then shall he be leader of the United Nations.
Do not join in the hell that Bill Clinton and Jessie Jackson shall inhabit, but repent so that thee may be forgiven before final judgement. Amen.
Baker's parody of The New Testament, featuring Obama as the protagonist instead of Jesus, is a perfect illustration of the liberal sycophancy that has captured the soul of the mainstream media. Obama has become a master at constructing and delivering absurd rhetoric, rooted in the most basic mantras of optimism. Slogans such as: Yes, we can!; and Change, appeal only to those starry-eyed fools who are incapable of recognizing the complexity of the world, and it's problems.

The real dangerous villains are the ones who approach us as friends with promises of hope and change, because that can be very appealing to those who refuse to look below the surface.
williambellor 2 years ago

@write2topcat

According to both the Old and New Testaments, the Beast/Antichrist will be a charismatic speaker who shall talk of peace "and through peace shall destroy many" and his arrival shall be proclaimed by false prophets (like maybe Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan?)

Leave it up to Fox to denigrate someone, anyone, like this. I have heard it said that Obama is a rockstar but nothing about a Jesus Complex. This is purely ridiculous.
beatlechick1 3 years ago
Let me attempt to educate you on this issue. This was not Fox News but Sean Hannity that broadcast this. Hannity is not a news reader, but a political commentator who presents his views with the conservative prospective. This is no different that Jon Stewart making fun of President Bush or other conservatives on his show. I don't see you accusing Comedy Central of denigrating George Bush for Jon Stewart's words and likewise, Fox is not to blame for Sean Hannity's words.
williambellor 3 years ago
Hate to tell you this but Jon Stewart is a comedian and I don't put any faith in what he says. As a matter of fact I think I have seen his show like maybe twice.
beatlechick1 3 years ago
Don't allow yourself to get confused between comedians and commentary because at it most basic level, it's individuals presenting their own personal point of view from their own political prospective. But if that is too much of a leap for you replace Jon Stewart with any host on NPR or Air America. At least with Fox News, your taxes aren't going to pay for their network.
williambellor 3 years ago
Don't we all represent our personal point of view? I know the difference between a comedian and a so-called political pundit. I don't listen to either. Nor do I listen to Air America. I do think independently. NPR I respect some of their shows like on AIDS and the environment.
beatlechick1 3 years ago
You're deflecting attention away from the real issue. You blamed Fox News for denigrating Obama in this video. Fox is no more responsible for what Hannity airs than Comedy Central is responsible for Jon Stewart's words. That's the point and changing the subject isn't confusing anyone! At least with Hannity you know that you are getting opinion from a specific political prospective; can't say that about Stewart, NPR or Air America who all claim to be middle fo the road.

I don't expect a politician of either party to be our lord; that's not their job.

Obama is the golden boy of the Democrat party, has the entire dinosaur media on his side and yet the two are polling virtually neck & neck. Maybe the people aren't as stupid as they seem!

It is not even August, and the mainstream media is tanking and desperately hungry, and they can only hate McCain a little bit, and the Obama campaign is this big honking zephyr of lies.

Iraqi Olympians compete knowing they won't be tortured when they come home.

whiteking910 3 years ago
I guess I missed that story, but I'm glad it happened. It will do wonders for the morale of the Iraqi people. Sort of a "Welcome To The World" ceremony.
williambellor 3 years ago
Excellent points, william. In regards to the economy, don't you find it funny that Obama, the man liberals tout as best for the economy, want to RAISE taxes. He also wants to raise the capital gains tax by 50% Granted, I sucked at economics when I was in school, but I don't follow how raising taxes is going to help the economy. I'll take McCain, the anti-pork crusader, over Obama, the tax-and-spend socialist, any day of the week.
whiteking910 3 years ago
It doesn't take a degree in economics to understand that the economy is stronger when people spend their own money than when the government takes that money and wastes it. Raising taxes hurts the economy EVERY TIME. Cutting taxes helps the economy EVERY TIME. In fact, cutting taxes results in more government revenue because when business is successful, they make more profit and pay more taxes.
williambellor 3 years ago
actually williambellor...you may need a degree in economics to understand why you are dead wrong. It's not just about cutting or raising taxes: it's about which people you target. Bush "cut" taxes, but how exactly has that turned out? Huge tax cuts rarely pay for themselves (see the 1980s), and the deficit balloons as a result. Middle class cuts, balanced rates for the rich, and domestic programs that provide blue-collar jobs is a great formula for economic recovery.
gkpanch 3 years ago
W failed because while he did the right thing in cutting taxes, the Congress (led unfortunately by liberal Republicans) increased spending at the highest rate in history. This is why the Republicans got their clocks cleans in 2006, not because the Democrats had a better plan, but because Republican voters stayed home. That trend should continue in 2008 and Obama should be 15 points ahead in the polls. The fact that he isn't is proof of Obama's unsuitability for Commander Ii Chief
williambellor 3 years ago
Regarding Reagan, he did all the right things, but I must remind you that the President does not write laws or spending bills, that is the Congress, who, I must remind you, was controlled by the Democrats. All the President can do is approve or veto the bill. Democrats get around this by attaching unrelated spending projects to necessary bills that the President must sign. Give us a true conservative President and the "Line Item Veto" and watch our economy soar.
williambellor 3 years ago
All the while the UN dragged its collective feet on its own resolution, giving further examples of why we have a hard time taking the world body seriously.
As for the recession, I find it funny how people wern't claiming we were in a recession until the primaries really got started. Now all of a sudden, we have a recession. While I do not deny the economy is not as great as it has been, I suspect the "recession" has more to do with media-inspired panic than actual economic downturn.
whiteking910 3 years ago
Good points WK:
Regarding Iraq, we did not end the war in 1991, we simply agreed to a cease fire. The conditions of that cease fire were that Saddam abide by no-fly zones in the north and south; a condition he repeatedly violated and Saddam allowing in UN inspectors to verify that he was complying with the terms of the cease fire & discontinuing his weapons program. Saddam could have prevented the invasion of his country, the death of his sons & his arrest & execution by simply keeping his word.
williambellor 3 years ago
If he had WMD's in the past, but destroyed them, tell the inspectors where the remains were, let them verify that they were the remains and then he could have told the inspectors to get the hell out of his country. There were ample opportunities for Saddam to comply with the wishes of the international community, but he chose to play games and now he's dead!
williambellor 3 years ago
Instead, he chose to block the efforts of the UN to verify the conditions of the cease fire. If he did not have WMD's, he sure made it look like he did by kicking the weapons inspectors out of his country whenever they got too close. We know he had WMD's in the past because he used them on his own people and the people of Iran. If he didn't have them, he should have allowed the inspectors to continue to search and prove that there were no WMD's.
williambellor 3 years ago
As for the economy, the two issues that are the causes of the bad economy are high gas prices and the weak housing market and with both of these issues, the Democrats are to blame. Gas prices are high because democrats won't allow us to harness our own energy reserves. The housing market is weak because Democrats whines a few years ago that it was discrimination that too few home mortgages were being issued to poor people
williambellor 3 years ago
As a result of the threat of Democrats attempting to regulate the mortgage market, home mortgage companies decided to come up with the sub-prime schemes to enable them to give mortgages to people who couldn't afford them. In both cases, well-meaning government interference had unintended consequences and create cures that were worst than the disease. Most people are intelligent to see trends in things, but not Democrats, they allow government to interfere and never see the damage they cause.
williambellor 3 years ago
This is so wrong. I worked with Countrywide. Guess what? Big conglomerate that was run by middle of the road conservatives who cared nothing about people but the bottom dollar. Angelo Mozilo got over $140,000,000 on the B of A buyout. Another company he started and owned went bellyup leaving lots of people without money. That company? Indymac Bank. Most of the Democrats I know were savvy enough to see that this would happen. Regardless, this is not a Republican/Democrat debacle.
beatlechick1 3 years ago
Surprise surprise, a business is in business to make money, oh the horrors! Despite what the Democrats tell you, Countrywide is not the villain, they were simply attempting to provide a service, produce a profit for their shareholders & pay their employees; one of which apparently hates them, but lacked the courage to quit. This IS a Democrat problem, because it wouldn't have happened if the Democrats hadn't whined about how unfair it was that people who can't afford houses, don't get mortgages.
williambellor 3 years ago
Democrats don't tell me nothing. I live in the heart of where Countrywide is. Paying their employees is a joke. I was one of them until they sent the bulk of their loans offshore and laid off over a hundred people in one area. Why is it okay for a business to make money off the little people but not okay for them to be helped in owning their own homes?
beatlechick1 3 years ago
It isn't, but this is a problem for the free market to figure out, not the government. If Countrywide didn't pay that well, why didn't you quit and get a better job? I gotta figure you that knew you weren't that valuable of an employee and knew you couldn't do any better. Regarding CW ripping off their customers, the free market deals with problems like this better than the government. If a company rips off it's customers, they develop a bad reputation and they lose or go out of business.
williambellor 3 years ago
Why do you think that CW was bought out? There are all kinds of lawsuits against them and Indymac, including an entire State going after them! I'm not that stupid, I do have a better job where (before we were bought out) employees were respected.
beatlechick1 3 years ago
In the end, government action always makes things worse because government doesn't have to live within a budget like the business world does. They don't have to turn a profit, they don't have to satisfy their shareholders and you lack the ability to say you don't want to pay for it all because they can throw you in jail if you don't pay. If you truly want to prevent companies from moving over-seas, then help them remain profitable by going on record saying they should pay NO corporate taxes.
williambellor 3 years ago
No, I don't agree with you. My State is broke and has reduced the state employees to the federal minimum wage salary (which is $2 less than the state minimum wage). The State and Congress wants these people to own up to screwing up.
Back to real life which has to take precedence. My brother has been rushed to the hospital with heart issues with little health insurance (company doesn't make enough money for it) and my mother just died about 3 weeks ago.
beatlechick1 3 years ago
When the economy slows down, the hurt felt by the private sector is usually much more severe; with people losing their jobs rather than just s simply cut in pay. Government employees should be happy that they still have a job because it could be much worse. It doesn't mean that they employees screwed up, it means that the politicians spent more money than they had.
Regarding your mother and brother, you have my sympathy. I hope your brother gets better.
williambellor 3 years ago
Just one more answer, thank you for the thoughts. Also, unemployment in my area (along with the economy) is getting up there. People are losing their jobs. As for the political pundits, I listen to nobody. The only opinion that counts is my own. Comedy Central is just that, comedic. Fox is supposed to be a serious news source. That, alone, is a big difference. I watch neither.
beatlechick1 3 years ago
The plan you've been following led you to war and a recession.
OK, first off, the war. It was the intelligence stated by the world about Saddam's alleged WMD programs that led us to war. We felt, that in this age of NBC weapons we could not risk a known enemy of the US having such weapons. And technically, we were still at war. The war had never officially ended, we just chose to put it to bed. cont.
whiteking910 3 years ago
And now, we have Iran, a nation run by religious nutjobs bent on the destruction of America and Israel. You honestly think we're going to talk them down when they are so close to getting the ultimate weapon? Are you blind? No, if they get nukes are get too close to it, we have to carpet-bomb their facilities. That's how Israel put an end to Iraq's nuclear ambitions. We have to let them know that we have the muscle to back up words. Diplomacy is only effective when it is backed up by force.
whiteking910 3 years ago
Europe thought they could sway Hitler with diplomacy. Didn't exactly work out that way, did it? Europe talked while Hitler prepared for war. And were it not for the U.S., the whole of Europe would be speaking German at this point. That's the thing you don't get. Diplomacy is a good tool, but at the end of the day, it is force that acts as the ultimate deterrent. You think the Soviets were kept at bay by nice words? It was more that they didn't want to see Moscow turned into a parking lot.
whiteking910 3 years ago
McCain ha, why didn't he win the last election if he's so heroic? Why are Repubicans ignoring that McCain changes position every year? First he's for the veterans then votes against bills that would provide more benefits for them. McCain has no clue about the economy but criticizes Obama for stating his policy. McCain said he would not run a smear campaign but so far he's in charge of one. The plan you've been following led you to war and a recession.
jazzyjimbryant 3 years ago
Hold up there king, the world is one place. Seen from the sky there are no borders except in your mind. If Iran attacked the US... The change is supposed to be about dropping paranoia and dealing with others in an open, diplomatic manner. Only a president who has been a president has experience. McCain has no experience being a president, he's a wannabe like all candidates. WE all survived wars or we wouldn't be here, does that make us all fit to be president? Everybody makes mistakes.
jazzyjimbryant 3 years ago
OK, jazzy, let me clear a few things. Do you honestly think that the nations of the world don't maintain borders? Seriously. Do you think nations like Canada, England, and France don't believe in sovreignty and national identity? The world is one place, but we are not one people, we do not have one world government, and people don't want to have one world government. Is it paranoia to take a firm stance against the malcontents of the world like Iran?
whiteking910 3 years ago
I am of the firm belief that the mainstream media's unbelievable bias towards Obama will finish him. People don't like it when the news turns into a pep rally for one guy. I strongly believe that the Dan Rather/fake memo controversy killed Kerry's campaign. A prominent member of the mainstream media was caught trying to directly influence a Presidential election. I predict the voters will vote for a real American hero over some prissy socialist who can't stick to a position to save his life.
whiteking910 3 years ago
you gotta be white!!!!!! your saying a blk man is getting more love from the media that a white guy, come on, the only reason why the edia loves obama is because people find hope in him, we are all tired of the same old shit happening in washington. you cant be serious, dont forget not even 40 years ago this would be un heard of!!!!!!
lboy123 3 years ago
lboy, the real reason the media has had a love affair for Obama is because he's a minority and he emphasizes all the creepy leftist ideals they stand for. It's no secret that the mainstream media is liberally biased, been that way for decades. I do think it is a nice thing that we've come so far that a black man can run for President. I do not think it is a good thing when that man is some airheaded leftist who wants to appease America's enemies and frequently plays the race card.
whiteking910 3 years ago
Really, what kind of idiots nominate a lawyer in his forties who hasn't even finished his first term in the Senate and has no executive experience whatsoever? Well, I have news for you. Obama is not a leader. Not even close. He is a media creation. He is a man who was touted as a candidate since is first day as a Senator. The media covers his numerous gaffes and does their best to silence criticism of Obama. They make no effort to hide their bias. So much for objective journalism.
whiteking910 3 years ago
I find it funny how liberals like to portray us conservatives as simple-minded. That's liberal elitism for you. So convinced are they of their superior intelligence that they can't possibly be wrong and anyone who disagrees with them must be stupid. Never mind all of the gaffes their boy Obama has made. If it is anyone who is simple-minded, it is liberals. From believingtheir own nation is the menace to being so naive as to think we can win over Iran and North Korea with love and flowers.
whiteking910 3 years ago
You can be sure that if they manage to sabotage the war effort in Iraq, their next order of business will be to undercut the war in Afghanistan. Then, they will stick their noses up the air and talk about "cycles of violence," explain that war never solves anything, and call for more "dialogue" and examination of "why they hate us." That's what liberals do. It's how they think and as sure as night follows day, it's the direction that they're going to slowly but surely move in.
whiteking910 3 years ago
All this talk from the left about how Iraq is taking resources we need in Afghanistan and "The real war on terror is in Afghanistan," etc, etc, is about as real as the left's support for the troops.
What the left really wants to do is curl the country up in fetal position and allow Al-Qaeda to take unlimited free shots at us while a bunch of snobby Barack Obama clones pontificate about how we brought it on ourselves.
whiteking910 3 years ago
You want to follow the Obamessiah like lemmings off a cliff, be my guest. But you will forgive me if I do not feel as suicidal. I'm choosing substance over style, steak over sizzle.
whiteking910 3 years ago
I would much rather have a safe, secure, strong America than good relations with Europe. Independent strength is what will make us strong, prosperous, and secure, not kissing up to the UN. That's why I like McCain. He knows what it is like to fight, Obama doesn't. Obama is a product of affirmative action and political correctness. If he was a white guy, he would not have ever been considered for the nomination. He's inexperienced, gaffe-prone, and arrogant to the max.
whiteking910 3 years ago
Those simple-minded warmongers McCain and Bush seem to have a following as simple-minded as they are. The world is weary of the old tactics and of America telling everyone how great a country it is. Obama is a message to the world that even America is going to behave itself on the world stage instead of breaking its own laws to push itself on weaker nations.
jazzyjimbryant 3 years ago

WK. there are more of us than you might think.

Obama thinks he's already president, and will do whatever he damn well pleases, while the proles (that's us) fall to their knees and thank the heavens that they lived to see it.
whiteking910 3 years ago
Here are the problems with Obama
He is arrogant to the point of neing egomaniacal. The Iraq surge being the biggest point as he still denounces it and refuses to admit its success.
He has no experience. He hasn't even completed his first term and yet people somehow think he's qualified to be President. That's like saying someone who's been a teacher for two years is qualified to be the Secretary of Education.
whiteking910 3 years ago
More problems
He's gaffe-prone
He naively believes that he can talk down the despots of the world like Ahmadenijiad.
He's been endorsed by scum like Hamas, Code Pink, Kim Jong Il, Fidel Castro, and Hugo Chavez. That should be a red flag unto itself.
He wants to unilaterally disarm our nuclear arsenal and halt military weapons development.
He is obsessed with pulling us out of Iraq, yet does not have a problem fighting in Afghanistan.

If you are still under the delusion that the Iraq invasion was not a foregone conclusion then you're a fool.
priorzola 3 years ago
I would have aggressively pursued BIN LADEN in the one place I know he was, not the one place I knew he WAS NOT. AGAIN, there will always be rogue states (especially when we spew off BS rhetoric like "axis of evil" and stage troops in their nearby countries to reinforce the threat). A CLUE, it's called imperialism and if we have the right to act tough and self-righteous when are really only operating under selfish concerns, other nations do as well. STOP imposing threats or deal w/ consequences.
priorzola 3 years ago
The "axis of evil" comment was truth. If you really think that Iraq, Iran, and North Korea had benign intentions, you are really deluded. Bush called a spade a spade and lefties like you cry about it. 9/11 happened because Clinton and those like him thought that we didn't need to be proactive in fighting terrorism. That terrorism needed to be dealt with as a crime and not a war. People can say what they like about Bush, but there has not been a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11
whiteking910 3 years ago
Amen brother!
lovesflsun 3 years ago
...and what if, as the entire world thought at the time, Saddam had a WMD program and passed a nuclear, biological or chemical weapon onto Bin Laden who set it off in the US and didn't kill 3,000, but 3,000,000 Americans? It's always easy to be the Monday Morning Quarterback and say what you would have done, but true leadership rarely has the benefit of hindsight.
williambellor 3 years ago
The fatal flaw in the liberal approach to fighting terrorism is that it is reactive by nature. 9/11 happens so the answer is to arrest Bin Laden and then it's over. Unfortunately terrorism is bigger than one man and the only way to prevent it is to be proactive by eliminating the terrorists ability to recruit members and get weapons. That is why Iraq was invaded. Democrats used to understand that, but now are more interested in getting elected than protecting the nation. They can't be trusted!
williambellor 3 years ago
when we finally admit it and stop pussy-ffoting around about garnering respect through anything other than force then I'll buy what you're saying. THIS means we have a cowardly form of EMPIRE where even most Americans are oblvious to it. But the world isn't and if we don't respect the now soverign rule of al-Maliki in Iraq when he asks us to leave then we will prove once again that we have no problem engagin in ILLEGAL occupations for our own imperialist means.
priorzola 3 years ago
You claim we are imperialists. If so, then where are our colonies. Do you see us claiming Iraq as ours. Planting American flags everywhere and claiming ownership over the country? Maybe you should fully understand the word's definition and context before you decide to go shouting everywhere merely because you dislike our foreign policy.
whiteking910 3 years ago
when you maintain force (even through puppet regimes) with your own military and/or corporate backing to force other nations to do your bidding than that is called IMPERIALISM. Before mpires that had balls called themselves such. Those that want to feign an image of righteousness do not call themselves imperialist. That doesn't mean that they are not. It only means they want to have it both ways. They want to think they are special through "god's providence" but USE FORCE to invoke their will.
priorzola 3 years ago
And what would you have done? Dither over the uncertainty over whether one of the world's most notorious dictators had WMDs? And you probably support the same with Iran. Must Israel become a nuclear wasteland before you and your ilk get the message that there are evil men in this world and they are determined to do evil things and they will not stop just because we talk nice to them? Get a clue
whiteking910 3 years ago
It's funny how lefties like you like to label Iraq a puppet regime. I suppose Saddam was better in your eyes. At least the Iraqi athletes don't have to worry about being tortured this time if they lose at the Olympics.
whiteking910 3 years ago
No Saddam was a puppet regime we lost control of when we no longer had a use for him. Left to his own devices at the beginning of his reign (ie. no US funding or weaponry) he would have come and gone just like every Iraqi leader since the beginning of Iraq. Iraq was part of our imperialist intentions until the Soviets went away and we left them heavily armed and with regional axes to grind. And why wasn't Saudi Arabia included in "the axis of evil". Selective moral outrage, that's why.
priorzola 3 years ago
If we had let the Useless Nations have their way, Saddam would either still be oppressing his people, living in a luxury apartment in Paris, or sitting in a cell at the Hague. And you will forgive me if I sound sarcastic when I mention the Hague. Considering they were in year five of Milosevic's trial when he died in his cell of a heart attack, you will forgive me if I have trouble taking the Hague seriously. Small wonder we let the Iraqis hang Saddam. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
whiteking910 3 years ago
Also, considering that Israel ceded land to the Palestinians and Hamas just used it as a further staging point for rocket attacks against Israeli towns like Sderot, I can't really blame them for being reluctant to make further concessions to those animals. It is appalling to expect Israel to commit suicide by making concessions towards a people that have no interest in peace. Hamas does not want to live next to Israel, they want to destroy Israel. I fail to see why that is so hard to fathom.

MasterSgtSlappy 3 years ago 2
Don't lose spirit! Americans are smarter than they sometime appear; they simply need a reminder of how bad things can get when Democrats have complete power. Remember that 4 disastrous years of Carter got us 8 years of Reagan. Republicans have not done the best job of adhering to conservative principles and this year should be a slam-dunk for Obama, but the truth is that despite all the obstacles facing us (including a hostile media), McCain is still running neck and neck with Obama.
