  • At 9:47 of this video you do something incredible. I think of it like a machine gun. What the heck do you call it and how do you do that? To cool for school.

  • Adam, you're just totally amazing !

  • he's putting a low "woing" in there when you do it slow you have it.

  • thanks, to Adam and Lee. Inspiring.

  • Lee is awesome...I appreciate the challenge..well done presenting your vid. You Da Kine, Bra!

I'm lookin for my comment to you I posted minutes ago, but it's GONE... to never neverland.

Living in Hawaii is a mixed bag of benefits for aspiring harp players. You, and Youtube, offer me a "way out". A thousand thankyous!!!

Now...how bout Train Train? just the famous intro. What's he doin with his "chatter"? Sounds like he has a vice on his pecker.

  • you got it!...use Amazing Slow Downer....it'll get you there quicker...I want to try it with BlackFoots Train Train....thanks Adam. That one has always baffled me. I know in my heart it is probably pretty easy once you SLOW IT DOWN and reeeeeeeally listen...but like you say, "that's what we do".

  • Oh my god, Lee Sankey plays the harp with a same way of Sonny Terry, I mean... with a low notes at right! Amazing...

And of course, you Adam, you so great!! See you is a great example for us!

    Cheers from Argentina!

  • Hi Everybody !

I need help. If someone decrypt the tab, can you give us just here ???

    I would appreciate.

    Regards

  • god bless you no body works harder at showing people how to play the harmonica than you do from your friend evel from east-van.

  • So sorry , it was only 33 Videos...typing error. The deserve gets later. I got the first Harp when I was 16 - at the School s out Party from my teacher. Now I'm 39 and grubed out the "pumkin" to open the door for the finetuning:-) if you are ready to learn, the right teacher comes - that's magic

Thanks and very surprised for the fast answer

    Best wishes from Tom

  • I'm from Germany. while a Session I heard a Harp player with much Variations and a nice Vibrato. I just wanted to see whats goin on at You Tube...I did the whole day with sitting in front the Lap see 133 of your Videos and all time I said: this is what I felt but didn't had the Information I needed to get it into words to learn the Stuff. Really Really really Thanks to You. Now I practice - included the 9 bend (thats a book in a tresor) - and I hope to give you a Video back soon

  • You deserve a medal for watching 133 of my videos. Glad you picked up on that 9 draw bend; yes, it's a neat little trick, and I'm happy to have shared it.

  • Yhis was fun I was on the edge of my seat the whole time right with you!

  • You got it BOSS!

  • you did it!

  • this is great, thanks for sharing

  • Hi from Paris,

Thank a lot for yours explanations.

I have trying during a looong time to make the same kinds of rythms. Like Norton Bufalo or P. Madecat.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    Excuse for my bad english.

  • Man this is great! I was playing along with you and listening. Felt like we were in the same room!

    -J

  • i'd love to have a smoke and a jam with you man!

  • This was fun, don't play the harmonica, always thought it was a toy but now having watched this video I have found a deep respect for it. I want one....but having watched this video would'nt dream of buying one.

  • dot on...I have a Koch chromatic, and all of that, love what I can read and try...

but you may have changed everything.

Best wishes Walter (Big Larry Adler and Sonny Boy fan). will be checking all you do...

  • Adam,

    Just too much fun!

Thanks for all you do. I can't wait for the next one.

  • When Bruce Lee came to the U.S. and taught Kung Fu, the old guys in China got ticked. He was giving out all the secrets. Adam is like the Bruce Lee of harp. He's giving it ALL away. Love it!

  • the thing i like best adam is your utter enthusiasm and passion for the harp it really shows in your whole attitude and demeanor.

im 38 and picked the harp up every year since the age of 17 and then threw it back down because it just wasnt happening, since watching your vids its working now and ill never put it down again

  • The interesting thing is, I was bored with the instrument until I began uploading these lessons. Sharing what I know became a mission, and now I'm filled with THAT energy. Thanks for letting me know.

  • thanks for the reply adam.you may not be the best player in the world(its a hard thing to define)but you are without all suspision of doubt the best teacher, that you can define.

  • Wow you was Bored? Maybe you should of got a Saxophone & took other that like a Kudzurunner. This is a great Mission & has stopped many other Harp players getting bored & kept them inspired.

    Thanks

  • sorry that was supposed to say took over like a Kudzurunner im about as good with English as i am the Blues Harp - the difference been i love the Blues Harp

  • @KudzuRunner

    R.E.S.P.E.C.T

  • great video!

i really like what you do...

i know i asked you before, but if you have the time can you check out my videos and give me some advice????

    thanks,

    Dusan

  • My advice is: slow down a little, dig in a little harder, and work on those blues pitches. Otherwise you're headed in the right direction.

  • Great stuff Adam. Wouldn't it be great if the guy that played it made a video response? That is a challenge. C'mon Lee where you at?

  • Opening things out a little, can I recommend another blues guy from over the water who's making big waves, and some! He's called Ian Siegal (not a harp man), heard of him? If not, check him out, if you've a mind. All the best.

  • Hi Adam, I remember posting a comment to you about Lee and what a player he was. This tune is something else, isn't it? Like and earlier post I don't remember seeing it on an album of his. As I recall it was free to download from his site, maybe it's gone! You've done a great job on this. Well played sir! All the best.

  • i was wondering if you could do an old-timey solo piece, something like "railroad blues" by freeman stowers or "chickasaw special" by noah lewis...or like, deford bailey.

  • That's a great idea. I've got a couple of records with that kind of stuff. Truth is, Joe Filisko and Wade Schuman have that stuff down so cold that I'm embarrassed to parade my lack of knowledge.

  • Merci por la démonstration ,vous être un excellent prof et nsurtout un trés bon diatoniste merci à l'avance de visionner mes vcidéeos .harmonicalement votre

  • Hi Adam, Still lovin the lessons...saw a huge improvement after a few months cant thank you enough. tried my hand at teachin a few licks i managed to get goin, hopin maybe a few of your long distance "students" like myself might be able to trade a few licks too. mines a bit dodgy but I learned as I went.

  • ha ha ha... like seein ur reptile lips... makes it clearer...anyway... thanks

  • This is a great lesson. 5 Stars Boss.

  • can you do that with maybe sonnyboy james cotton or little walter junior wells or doug jay that is great stuff

  • Sure. The problem is finding a track that I haven't really listened to much. But I'll do that.

  • Great video Adam....

  • Could you challange Jason Ricci and perhaps John Popper on you next videos, thanks.

  • Jason, definitely. Popper may just be too damn fast.

  • I got it down.........HA! NEW RIFF!

  • Very innovative Adam, I'm glad you're pushing the video instruction limits by showing how the boss works ( plays ) . I don't think you should call yourself 'The Boss ' , I wouldn't want any other stars out there to feel like they're excluded in any way. Aren't we learning from each other ?? Slide on, Star!

  • The "boss" thing was a joke. I assumed that everybody would get that. Note to other good players: I'm sorry for hurting your feelings. Next time I'll steer clear of flagrant ironized braggadocio.

  • Hey, I love it when a Master is not afraid to be the student: a real sign of an Innovator. I'm a beginner. You know one of the Master's when they make it look so easy !! Thanks.

  • i found this quite compelling actually. bravo.

  • gutsy stuff, sir.

  • This is utterly amazing...Gussow is one of the best (if not THE best) harp players around today.

  • Great concept Adam, cool search...the real stuff we all do at every level.

    MH

  • Thats a great start to getting the tune started Adam....nice one!

  • You are the guy with most style in the whole youtube

  • Thanks. Please tell them--meaning, the folks who run this cool little big video world, whoever they are. They're paying for the bandwidth, and I'm truly grateful.

  • My soul will never rest, lol.

I'll track it down though. Lee probably knows.

  • I'm sure many are thinking the same thing; where can we find that cut!

I don't see it on either of Lee's three released albums (which I own). What disc did you find that on. Thanks Adam!

  • Dang. I knew somebody was going to ask me this, and its a good question. Truth is, one of my 400+ subscribers emailed it to me a few months ago and asked me to do a YT video on it. I have no idea where that person got it. Great question, though!

  • Lee plays the harp upside down--holding it in the right hand

Steve Cash of the Ozark Mtn Daredevils also plays this way

But Adam you are indeed the "BOSS"

  • you are nuts, grande huevos

    Amazing

  • hopefully you'll accept the dutch harmonica institution's invitation and I'll see you this spring!

  • I'll accept their offer the moment they extend it. It's still in the conversation stage, but we're moving toward an agreement.

  • Wow Adam, way to kick it bro. I've learned so much on the harp since finding your videos, I can't even say. Thanks for the great vids.

  • Absolutely incredible! Amazing to watch the process...

  • Love it Adam,thanks.

  • nice adam!

  • Nicely decrypted Adam! Tony "Little Sun" Glover would be very proud of you ;)

  • Yet another great job from "The Boss." I love how you did it in real time with no cuts. Some things are so fake nowadays you don't know what to believe. Keep it up!

  • It's always great to watch the teacher learn. It teaches us how to learn! Thanks KudzuRunner.

  • Fantastic always love when your vids take on a new direction keep them coming and Thanks a mill Mr. Gussow. Been with you since your 'Front Porch'vid. I and I'm sure many others have come a long way in large part due to you lessons and vids.

  • Impressive!
