  • Does anybody else wonder how he comes up with these song names?

  • @dashfront21 yes.

  • @dashfront21 ya

  • FINALY its been so long REAL MUSIC wellcome back move over POSERS

  • Thanks for listening :O Thanks for uploading :D

  • watch mya cover... plastic dracula.. search erwin sasotona

  • I wonder if Marco Minneman and Linus of Hollywood are still with him on this record?

  • @FrigginHank I think they still are. I'm not 100% sure though either...

  • @FrigginHank I don't think he did, he had an interview with Ultimate Guitar and he said that he did this record on his own, because he didn't have time to get other guitarists in.

  • If it flows it goes. My motto when composing music. I think Gilbert would agree.

  • Message to mankind: If you don't like someone else's music (or playin,) then please learn to play an instrument ,compose your own music and shut the fuck up!! Now merry xmas everybody...

  • Lol, guys stop hating so much. But to just for arguments sake, Paul is better than both Yngwie and JP.

  • Check out my band's cover of this song. /watch?v=lNu2PTJvCRA You won't be disappointed!

  • I just got this frmo a Joe SAtriani video! Instrumental guitar is the best!

  • No such thing as the best but Paul has continued to improve! He has not plateaued yet I feel. I can't wait to hear what he does in the future.

  • Kirk Hammett, take a lesson. This is how you use a wah pedal.

  • @pmgallant And play.

  • any one have or know of a tab for this? PM me!

  • Anyone know of a place for a tab of this? At least that cool wah part? PM me if you have one it would be much appreciated.

  • his new sound makes me think of vai, but he shreds more... awesome

  • I don't know why but that that melodic wah part gets better every time i hear it.

  • The title makes me think of Buckethead for some reason...

  • @UnknownSect333 well Paul thought Buckethead some of his tricks. maybe that's what you may be thinking.

  • @MichaelD8393 Yeah, I know that. But the title just sounds like it would be a Buckethead song.

  • how about lets ot hate on anyone cuz paul and malmsteen both shred incredibly

  • Awesome !

  • Oh that screaming guitar, so good! Really LOVE the new tone of Paul!

  • This song is really growing on me, cool one.

  • @sweeney665..look paul is better, but dont say malmsteen is not a musician, i mean come on now..

  • one of his many amazing songs

but how does one come up with a name like "plastic dracula"

what the heck is that supposed to mean

its the only thing that makes this song not 100% awsome

  • @Xidkwhat2callmyselfX well naming an instrumental is kinda difficult. plus his titles are original. you type "plastic dracula" and he is the first thing that pops up. weird name or not, the song rocks

  • After listening to this and being kind of surprised, I just might forgive him for Mr. Big. Mind you, I said, 'might'. Now if he could just stop ripping-off classical music composers I might look up another song. PG wasted his career. He shoulda put this kind of stuff out years ago when satriani. vai. malm and the rest were all the rage.

  • reminds me of surfing with the alien

  • @TheAngrySchool cause both are played on wah

  • whoever disliked this is a damn disgrace to mankind.

  • @martyfriedman2

    True, very true.

  • @martyfriedman2 i would pay this guy to do a EPIC THEME for one my FILMS

  • why is so genious???!!!!! maybe the best and original guitarist!!!

  • It's not as if Paul Gilbert saved a pandabear's life with his guitarplaying. It's an expression, which all music is, and I can perfectly understand why someone wouldn't like it. Personally, I think this album is the most amazing instrumental album I've ever heard, but I'm not arrogant enough to believe my ideas to be norm or code for anyone but myself.

  • 1 person likes Justin Bieber

  • @MonkeyyDG Shut the fuck up about Justin Bieber. So you're saying that just because you like pop you can't like Paul Gilbert? Gosh, people who still make comments about Justin Bieber are like Elias on Clerks II.

  • @c4r50n1

It was aimed at the one person that pressed the "I dont like this" button....

Next time; think first, than wright fucking retard.

  • @MonkeyyDG I know who it was fucking directed at. I'm saying that making comments about Justin Bieber is fucking retarded. Justin Bieber haters do talk about him alot for people who hate him.

  • @MonkeyyDG He should think and you should learn how to spell. lullz

  • @ShadowThePeople

Now that I look back at my reply; you are right :P How did I end up writing 'wright' :S

Nah from time to time a couple of mistakes cant hurt right, besides normally my English is quite good. I probably wrote it when I was sleepy ;) ( I do doubt if I wrote probably correct, but I always doubt about that word).

  • Try playing this along with Fuzz Universe, the intro sounds amazing. Just discovered it by accident

  • Anyone who can't hear the melody needs to get the wax out of their ear's or get out of Paul's yard! He play's in, around and through the melody always keeping thing's interesting.

  • i respect paul as a guitar player myself but there is one big disadvantage in his music: MELODY.. there is no melody in this song, just bunch of riffs and licks.. satriani has plenty of greaty melody in his songs and therefore many people can listen to his music but pauls music can only listen guitar players obsessed with technical perfection

  • @MrCold768 Paul can go off the deep end and be a little self indulgent at times, but if you don't hear melody here, I think you could be high. It's very vocal like.

  • @gonzo5648 i am sorry but i dont hear any melody.. just scales, licks and all that technicality.. the song is called "plastic dracula" and according to this music it could be called like "super spaceship" or smth.. when you listen to instrumental music you must somehow connect the song to the title.. this is not the case here

  • @gonzo5648 u just dont have a musicians ear, no musical knowledge and cant play it, thats why u dont hear anything.

  • @fuelinject Why is this directed at me?

  • @gonzo5648 i think he meant to sennd it to that mr. cold kid

  • @MrCold768 I've always looked at Paul's guitar instrumentals filling both the role of a singer and a lead guitarist, as if he weaves back and forth from one role to the other during the course of the song.

  • no all malmsteen does is hit random notes

now PAUL is a sweeping beast!

  • @guillotinedeath

more like a string skipping beast...

  • love the new sound of those injector pup's

  • The picture on the album is him playing all the songs at once.

  • Frank Zappa said it best . "Rating guitar players is a stupid hobby."

  • @markstacechris Zappa is the best.

    Wait a minute...

  • @markstacechris Well yeah...after having Vai playing for him it probably WAS stupid.

  • everytime i look a video of any good guitarist on youtube, there is a top rated comment about how shitty malmsteen is

  • people on pauls videos always putting down malmsteen, but they tend to forget that yngwie was a pretty big influence on paul.

  • @guitarnub3 You took the words right out of my mouth, thank you for not being a flame-tard haha, people will never realize that they should embrace all forms of good shred since there are so few people that do. We are all on the same team but sometimes I wonder with all the bashing of different people that are awesome :/

  • someone make a tab fo thiiiiis! :O

  • i saw him last wednesday live and he was freaking awesome!all of them, too bad he didnt play this one though its ine of his best new songs.but still, he amazed me!Paul is awesome.

  • just goes to show that guitar is a force to be reckoned with, and to be lost to, man i cant wait to hear this CD high, talk about moments of my life

  • @Trollamollex danm ur right this album is kool

  • killer riff

  • How does he get that 'tight' wah sound (?)

    gahh!

  • malmsteen and paul are both good, oh wait... so is becker, vai, bucketface, lynch, moore, cooley, loomis, reid and so on. all guitarists are good in their own little ways. so you can all suck a pole while i listen to music without the sudden urge to beat off over my own ass. dya think the artist give a poppy?? nuh... they are rollin in CASHDOLLARS, fkn awesome track btw!! GUITAR RULZ!!!!!!!!!

  • I miss Paul's fucked up hair, lol.

  • the only and one forever!

  • Right up there and influenced by Zappa, Hackett, EVH, Rhodes, just to name a few.

  • I think we should ALL nominate PAUL FOR PRESIDENT !!! ... what a country this would be !!!

  • Comparing Gilbert and Buckethead makes sense though, from a teacher vs student standpoint. I personally prefer Gilbert (but Randy Rhoads will always be the best)

  • @ziggy8392 hell yes randy

  • @ziggy8392 NOPE

  • ahah, these comparisons make me laugh! they're both masters..why choosing? i listen to them all, and thank they exist with their different skills!

  • I really like this tune...really happy with this entire CD

  • Respond to this video

  • Comparing guitarists is just stupid in general. They're all different, they can all be criticized.

  • @Halocon govan isnt on gilberts level.

  • @turnbacktime your right Govans way beyond it ;)

  • @sackvilleshredder123 you know what, after viewing a lot of his video's after making that comment. i'll somewhat take that statement back... paul is slightly tchnically better i still think. i'll wait for govans next album to make up my mind..

  • @sackvilleshredder123 what can he do that gilbert cant?

  • Cmon.. PLEASE !

Stop comparing Guilbert, Malmsteen, Batio, Buckethead, Etc....... If only you could play as the worst of em......

    Yeah.. You're ridiculous.

  • come on guys. stop comparing paul to malmsteen. all malmsteen does is sweeping and he has gotten sloppy at it. gilberts' technique is superb

  • @ekgerke Malmsteem doesn't sweep 99% of the time. See the interview in guitar world, June edition 2010.

  • @ekgerke and malmsteen is now a warlus

  • @ekgerke Paul Gilbert is godly, lol. Yngwie is a kind of a sloppy mess that plays a little faster than he should some times.

  • @ekgerke malmsteen rarely sweeps.

  • @boxtrap21 Sweeping is not only doing big movements on 4, 5 or 6 chords, it's really helpful when speeding => sweep picking, malsteen does a lot of it!

  • @flaphead325 I know how helpful sweeping is \m/ name 5 songs from him with a lot of sweeping?

  • @boxtrap21 haha, i'm not enough fan of malmsteen to do that, but in Trioly op5 theres some!

  • @flaphead325 I wouldn't say I'm too big of a fan either, but I haven't heard much sweeping. I think all he does is alternate pick arpeggios as fast as he can, and I guess thats his style lol

  • @boxtrap21 Sorry i meant strings :)

  • @ekgerke Finally, someone had to say it... Oh, you posted that 4 months ago. Where have I been?

  • @ekgerke malmsteen used to be good for about 2 years. He completely became irrelevant and nowadays hes pretty terrible at his own techniques.

  • @ekgerke Plus Malmsteem is an absolute fuckhead of a character!

  • @BashYouLongtime Why do you even care? I thought it was about the music not who you would rather beat one out to.

  • @ConerTheStoner When the hell was I even bashing his MUSIC? I said he's a total fuckhead, that's it. He's a GREAT!!! player, but he is also a MAJOR asshole. My friend had been to his house in Florida, and when you walk in he says there is a bigger than life portrait of him, and Yngwie would NOT even give him a signature because he didn't have boobs. That's a true asshole to be about your music-no matter how incredible technicial it is. This is why people love Gilbert b/c he's not an asshat

  • @ConerTheStoner On top of his already great technique, and composition skills.

  • @ekgerke

Lol malmsteen isn't known for his sweeps anyway, best sweeper was Jason. Paul has much tastier playing, his songs dont all sound the same and he is a better person.

  • @ekgerke Malmsteen only sweep? Sure and Bush never lied, he only told 100% truth 100% of the time. While I would rather listen to Paul than Yngwie, I know bullshit when I see it.

  • @ConerTheStoner yngwie is not a musician...he's a plain shredder and yes all he did was to sweep and play scales at superspeed. No composition skills, no passion, no feeling...i've seen Gilbert live and i have seen MANY MANY videos of malmsteen's whole concerts and the two of them don't compare. a poser can never compare to a musician.

  • @sweeney665

You just went full retard with that last comment.

  • @exportblue i think that i'm entitled to my opinion. have listened to malmsteen lately? he can't even shred that well..plus check out the g3 live and you'll get it. i insist that he is not a musician.

  • @sweeney665

oh god, that g3 is terrible. malmsteen fucks it all up.

  • @swamdono

Thats Right i am praying for a G 3 with Dweezil Zappa or Kiko Loureiro or Andy Timmons for 3 years now

Yngwie is horrible he had his time in the 80 ies and even then Gilbert, Marty Friedman, Richie Kotzen, Steve Vai and Jason Becker were 3 x better then Malmsteen

  • @sweeney665 yngwie dont have passion?? dont have felling?!?!?! O_o

  • @panchox7909 he doesn't. Just senseless shredding.

  • @Blitzbot I agree, but it does sound good though

  • @Blitzbot its not senseless, it flows. and no feeling? why cuz he's not sad and playing slow shit all the time? anger is a feeling and i think it comes out well in metal.

  • @museman91 it flows? its the same shit over and over. Petrucci > Malmsteen everyday.

  • @Blitzbot when the fuck did jp come into play? i like jp better too, but that in no way says yngwie doesn't have feeling. and yeah if you take all his instrumentals and put them together, then yeah its obviously gonna start soundin similar. his shit isnt the same over and over tho

  • @museman91 i brought jp into this to show you the huge difference between a versatile guitarist that creates unique stuff and someone that you listen on the radio and you exactly know who is playing just by that.

  • @Blitzbot ?? jp is quite distinguishable on the radio...

  • @museman91 seriously wanna compare his songs with malmsteen? GG

  • @Blitzbot no, because its already quite clear how fucking stupid you are. you refuse to think yngwie is creative so fuck off already. comparing him to someone else won't prove anything

  • @museman91 yes yngwie is so creative lmao got mad suddenly? fanboi

  • @ekgerke

alternate picking is what he is best known for and he isnt sloppy at it

  • @AVFC0711 read the comment again...

  • @sweeney665

    yeh and.....

  • @ekgerke Gilburt is my Favorite guitarist, but malmsteen kicks alot of ass

  • @ekgerke with all due respect to Malmsteen...he is a good guitarist...but personally I am bored of the same licks in the same keys...it is amazing to me how one can write so much musing using the same licks... but then when it comes to Paul...OMG! lots of things that are always new and amazing... so...sorry Yngwie...you've been an insipration to us all, but your time has kinda passed...

  • Someone's been practicing...for like 30 years

  • @griffknox thats to funny

  • @griffknox in a row

but normal people have to practice 900 years in a row to get to this level...

  • @griffknox

Paul Gilbert practices the guitar every day for 8 hours every day since he was 19 years old

He s in his early 40 ies now

No jokeing he said that in an interview i read,

he gets up at 6 o clock every day to do that

  • Very Satch like. :) But Paul Gilbert is a super talent and on the same level as Vai and Satch. That is the triad at the top of the ladder. Govan, Malmsteen, and Petrucci are missing something that these guys have. But I love them all. 6 of my top 10 for sure.

  • @ghettadukes Govan, Sfogli, Timmons

  • @ghettadukes !!!!!!!!!! Petrucci is missing NOTHING that Gilbert has. Listen to his solo album, I BEG You!

  • @ghettadukes

Man, Satch is not on the same level as any of those other guys you mentioned. He's a good songwriter, but all those guys, Gilbert, Petrucci, Yngwie and especially Govan absolutely smoke him in playing ability.

  • @Maxxx so you only listened to satch as a 50 year old? ever listen to him live when he was younger??? govan couldn't keep up in terms of quality, its taken him 30 years to make 1 album, satch released his first album when he was practically still a kid, there would be no govan without satriani and while i appreciate many people like him you have to remember he has not accomplished anywhere the same as the others, he may be great but to say he is on another level to satch borders on ignorance

  • @TheLydianRocks

    Ignorance?

Satch is good at what he does, and he has certainly been prolific, but he only got to a certain level and then stopped. He has been at the same level of skill / musicianship for the last 20 years at least. And that level is beneath Govan's. I don't care that Satch has released more material than Govan. Blink 182 have also released more material than Govan. You can't tell me that makes them better musicians.

  • @Maxxx are you joking? only got a certain level and stopped? you do realize Guthrie Govan probably wouldn't even know about pitch axis theory if it weren't for satch, and to say hes been at the same skill level for 20 years is laughable because you can argue he reached greatness in terms of feel and technique in his late teens where as guthrie is now 40 and only released his first album what a year or 2 ago?? and he hardly invented anything new or never before heard, satch on the other hand...

  • @TheLydianRocks

You're ignoring my main point there. And what did Satch "invent" or do that hadn't been done before? "Pitch Axis Theory" wasn't even something new, he just put a fancy name to it. And even if he did invent it and Govan learned it from him, that doesn't make Satch a better player. You can find a million examples of the student surpassing the teacher.

  • @Maxx so you're saying he didnt invent it? and then you're saying even if he did invent it?? would be nice if you argued with knowledge instead of guess work, difference is there are no videos of satch playing really badly but there are videos of guthrie telling people to shut the camera off because he isn't sounding so great at that moment, go look them up and if you fail i'll send them to you and make you look even more foolish lol satch is a genius, govan is just a very talented guitarist

  • @TheLydianRocks

Man your basis of a "genius" is pretty weird imo. I don't think we're going to agree on this ever.

  • sick!

  • I respect Satriani very much, I was just making a comment on the tone on this particular song :) The album as a whole is some of Pauls best stuff

  • @mattgarnettlondon yes it is :)

  • This is the best song in the CD!!

  • He's my favourite guitarist in the universe, but with that wah he sounds a little too much like Satriani for me

  • @mattgarnettlondon

i dunno, he still sounds like paul. especially when he vibratos

  • @mattgarnettlondon You saying that you don't like Satriani?

  • @mattgarnettlondon paul is sponge who gleans what he likes same as all of us . im not saying he rips of, but rather he becomes inspired by .he has been hanging out with Joe a bit over the last few years .i was in an inde band once god forgive me i had to stop listing to vai because i couldn't help but sound more like him than the band where happy with . it wasn't like i was trying .

  • @MUDSHARK111 know what you mean.. I was always in Indie bands at school, but I wanted the guitars to sound like RacerX, much to my REM loving bandmates dismay. It's true what you say about Paul and Satriani, he has been hanging out with him a lot and has no doubt picked up a few tone tricks, it's most noticeable on this track. To be honest I prefer Olympic, where he sounds like Paul Gilbert. I will probably be cucified by some for saying that ;-)

  • phenomenal. paul just keeps getting better and better

  • Instant like for me..but after that,,Instant death..

  • thank you so much cant wait to learn this album , total musicgasam !
