Universal health care doesn't have to mean socialized medicine. How can any canidate campaign on the fact that we spend $2 trillion on health care in this country, and then turn around and say that their should be a one-payer system(the government). Even ending the Iraq War wouldn't provide us near enough funds for this. It'd be cheaper to pay ridiculous premiums than to pay the increase in taxes. We should use the free market idea our Founding Fathers envisioned.

Not true, universal healthcrae because of the problem of information in the health market and the cutting in beurocracy combined with cheaper preventative care being given to people will actually make large savings. look at the statistics - US spends 14% of GDP on health care has least popular systme in developed world, France spends 12% of GDP on healthcare (and there GDP is far smaller) and has most popular system in the world.
