In Virtual DJ you can set an automix playlist. This list will be more of a jukebox style and rarely (if ever) beat mixes but it will allow you to play songs without needing to be at the controls the whole time. if I can I will try and make a quick video for you to show how to set it up.

laptop is cool but with tts you can actualy mix not just have the computer on auto

thats gotta suck, but at least you were able to find a work around and get the job done! You could have always taken the "windows media player" or winamp route...if all you needed was to create playlists of songs.
