  • @thegunnyguy Now that you mention it I went back and checked. It is from black hawk down.

  • @thegunnyguy The music from memphis bell is at the end though.

  • @Herbymac0811 ahh i see cause i watched 1hr ish of it and didnt hear it............but thanks for that, ill have to watch the full thing

  • this vid was class :) is this one of the missions on il2 birds of prey. is this game worth while getting ?

  • this is four, i'v taken' hit's!

  • WHAT IS THIS BLOODY GAME!

  • @MrTrainwreck09 That is IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946, can be bought from Steam as well as various online shops for just a few bucks

  • @MrTrainwreck09 its frekin class

  • video je vyborne zpracovano a s velmi peknym hudebnim doprovodem

  • Memphis belle?

  • The name of the song is Leave No Man Behind from the movie Black Hawk Down.

  • Yea, the music at the end when the bomber is landing is from the movie Memphis Belle. Its my favorite movie

  • I heard that one song from that movie B-17 some thing Bell, I heard that song at the ending. If you cant understand me, the reason why you can is because I got bad spelling and I ant good at making sentences.

  • @TheJefrey24 Memphis Belle?

  • @jtb0201 yes

  • I know this is just a game but the video does give some idea of what those guys went through. You know its interesting. The Bombers were getting shot down in enourmus numbers by the Luftwaffa, till P51's started escorting the Bombers all the way to the target. But the one thing they could never really defend against was flack. I bet flack brought down more Bombers than anything else.

  • Good video.

    USAAF B-17's in 1942 and 1943 were Green/Grey.

P-47s/P-38s didn't have any range until drop tanks came in early 1944.

P-51s didn't arrive until later. This rate of loss of bombers depicts a mission like Schweinfurt and therefore the B-17s being green/grey in the video is correct. P-47s escorted no further than Belgium and had only several minutes time with the bombers before needing to leave, so crews suffered.

It wasn't until D-Day, a silver 8th AF existed and penetrated deeply.

  • @verf1234 , Most all B-17 untill late 1943, were painted OD Green. On late F and G models, the majority of the planes were not painted. 1) to save weight, and 2) since the threat of Luftwaffe attacks on airfields was reduced to none, there was no need to camoflage them, and 3) the 8th AF WANTED to draw Luftwaffe fighters up, so that allied fighters could destroy them.

  • Some Memphis Belle music i like it.

  • IF YOU WANT TO SEE REAL B-17s AND REAL WW2 FILM GO TO TOPCAMERMAN

  • nice vid!

  • it is a fun video and i respect what is happend in the war but those bombers aren't b-17 because b-17 are grey

  • @verf1234 I'm sorry to dissapoint you but those are B-17's. Just because they have another colour doesn't mean they're not B-17's

  • @verf1234

b17can be green or any colour!!!!

  • were u using Ultrapack?

  • Excellent Vid

  • over 546th bomber group only "1" survived O_o

  • what is name of song please??

  • 4:53, looks like XD lol

  • Epic video, where where the P-47s when you needed them earlier? No external fuel tanks?

  • I know it's just a game...I have hope that gamers respect the issue of war in general. My neighbor Stan is an Englishman that flew "Spits" during that conflict. The past few weeks he's had nurses come 'round the clock, he doesn't have long. He never talked to me about the War. Diana, his wife is an American...she asks me not to bother him about it, so I don't. But he told my father a few stories. The fact is that we play games.....that was not a game to them. It was life and death in the air.

  • Too bad no Me 262 for roller coaster attacks LOL. cool vid!!

  • Great video. Thought it was real footage.

  • Gunther Rall was in JG52

  • I did meet Gunther Rall few years ago here in Reykjavik Iceland :)

  • @Krringur You lucky bastard. I really want to go talk to him sometime before he dies.

  • @acepilot1997 how did you set up the game to fire so many flaks?

  • @X3freako I didn't make this. But he sped it up so it looks like alot of flak.

  • Is this game (Il 2 Stormavik) created by Russians? Can you fly Amercan or German planes?

    Thanks

  • @whatever0481 You can fly as Russians, Germans, Americans, British, Japanese, Finnish, Polish, New Zealand, Australian, French, Romanian, and Slovakian. It's a lot of fun.

  • @HalcyonSkies and in a b17 whos shooting in top etc. ?

  • @SMJeOma Well, to be honest, I've never flown bombers, I always consider myself a fighter pilot, and I'm a lousy, lousy bomber. However in the sequel, Wings of Prey, in the bombers, you can switch between each turret. So it's possible that its the same in IL2

  • @whatever0481 Ironically the Hungarians made it lol!

  • @whatever0481 Yes and yes. I definitely recommend this game. In order to play online you have to have hyperlobby however. You can download something what's called Ultrapack and basically it allows you to fly every plane in the game, of which there's around 200. From the B-29 with the atom bomb and F-86 Sabre, to I-15bis of the Finno-Russian war. Best of luck!

  • @blackshark1984 hi dude, thanks for your recommendation and sorry for late reply. I dont think i would play it online cs dont want to spend too much time on it but i will buy the CD. Take care

  • Excellent choice of music, neat video.

This vaguely resembles a true story where the german pilots threw their bf-109s at the bombers, one of them hit the leading bomber and literally decapitated it.

The action was, perhaps, too fast paced, still, lovely.

  • horrido !!! ... the Messerschmitt 109 G (r6), perfect fighter to intercept bombers.

  • This song is in Black Hawk Down!!!! Am I right?

  • I know a crashed b-17 that was shot down by a messerschmitt, they shot the messerschmitt at the same time, it came down too, the b-17 was about to crash on the house I am living in at the moment but it crashed 1 kilometer further because a soldier inside managed to pull it up, I was there when they dug it up, I have alot of pieces of the wreck, including alot of (charged) bullets. Its sad that some people died, because a grenade was thrown in.

  • only 1 b-17 survived lol

  • nice man, you have talent

  • those are not jg-52s those are messerschmitt 109 fighters

  • @homingowl They are from jg 52 not using jg 52, you are thinking of the ju 52...

  • @CrazyWW2fan Bit melodramatic, but still awesome. I think the pre-flight scenes are the best. Seeing that film as a kid is one of the big reasons that I got my jeep.

  • go Memphis Belle those men have my respect.

  • what is the song in the beginning

  • @hamy152 look for black hawks down soundtrack buddy

  • @hamy152 Black Hawk Down Soundtrack- Leave No Man Behind

  • @hamy152 It's from the "Blackhawk Down" movie soundtrack.

  • @hamy152 idk what it's called but it's also used in the movie Black Hawk Down

  • Comment removed

  • @hamy152

Leave no man behind - Hans Zimmer

  • The last one is track six off the Memphis Belle Soundtrack: "The Final Mission"

  • @14408GPW Dude i love that movie!

  • Most likely I'm wrong, but aren't those Messerschmidt's BF109? 'Cause if they aren't they sure look like 'em.

**Srry For bad English, I'm Dutch***

  • @TheDhrMax yes sir those are messerschmidt bf-109s

  • @MrJp990 Then why is the video called JG 52's messerschmitt vs B-17?

  • @TheDhrMax Because that possibly could have been the squadron name? Idk much about squadrons ik more about the guns these beasts had

  • Memphis Belle music! =D how do you get the B17? Is it on PSP as well?

  • nice video, what's the music?

  • Anybody knows the music tittle ??

  • looks alot like aces high

  • Great graphics!!!!!

  • @TubeAhalin this game is made in 2003.... it was a good graphic at that time ;)

  • @JaguarKinG95 which il2 is this?

  • Nice vid on Jagdgeschwader 52 battling B-17.s.

  • also this is the 100th vid i tagged as FAV!! YAY!!!!!!!!!

  • hey, I recongnize this music from Memphis Belle when they take off, right? Cool video and good work!

  • The Junkers Ju 52 was a German transport aircraft so get it corect ther BF109 noy Ju52

  • @madmanofyork How stupid are you?! What the man said is true. JG52 was the UNIT number. Read nextime, before you start you the whole armchair general act.

  • how comes i cant find some of these planes in my game :(:(:(

  • ther bf109 not jg52

  • @madmanofyork

JG52 is the unit number. It was one of the most famous Luftwaffe fighter groups of the war.

  • Jurassic0Al - Very beautiful comment ^^

  • my grandfather was able to fly a b 17 in the second world war he loved it. when his tour was up he became a fighter pilot and flew over berlin dropping hot love to the germans his bomber was originally named after mr peanut then it got shot up and he had to bail out over england. Its funny to him cause most named they're planes after their mothers and wifes he named his after the mascot of the company he worked at

  • how did you get those camera angles great vid.

  • faved!

Beautiful song... Can you tall me, what is it?

  • BEAUTYFULL VIDEO!

  • ooooh....it looks so cool.....beautyfull

  • its sad becouse most of these guys were forced to fight

  • Axis or Allies, the pilots of WWII where some of the bravest and most skillfull pilots of all time

  • i hate the flak in bop, especially when using a slow moving bomber :(

  • I don't know why but all I could think about the whole time was Memphis Belle.

  • @killerman46 same here

  • @killerman46

    Me 2

  • God they have like no chance once they are engaged :(

  • All pilots were flying at what these machines have my respect ....:)

  • All pilots were flying at what these machines have my respect ....:)

  • I don't know nereon. Maybe that depends of your kind or mark of Audio/Sound and of your Video/Card, pereferently the video card. Some video cards allow max settings with better textures than another for some games and for another don't. It's a matter of compatiblity. Read the requeriments of the IL2:1946 and the settings of your hardware of your cpu and search what fits and what don't fits and the things don't fit change. that's all. :) enjoy your play.

  • I thought JG 52 aka Abbeville boys had yellow prop hubs in addition to yellow engine cowling covers?

  • I'm a newbie, I have 14 kills, but would like to dogfight better, could you give me any hints? My email is Emoriano@aol.com

  • if this is il2 sturmovik 1946 how come the graphics* look so much better then what iv got and iv got Max settings on everything o.O and doesnt look that good

  • Comment removed

  • where the fuck are the escorts?

Никогда не выступал на стороне врага!!!

И-16, оборона Ленинграда, доигрался до "полковника", "дважды героя Советского Союза"!!!

  • is there any patch or mode withi which we can fly all the planes in il2 sturmovik or iL 1946 or with which some flanes are unlocked?

  • is there any patch or mode withi which we can fly all the planes in il2 sturmovik or iL 1946 or with which some flanes are unlocked?

  • that's real good movie...)))

  • I love how at the end there is a song from the movie "Memphis Belle." It gave me the chills.

  • great video please make more

  • WOW! IM IMPRESSED! GREAT JOB! A ROUND OF APPLAUSE!

  • Look a stolen film

  • excellent video...thank you for post

  • My Dad was a flight engineer on the B-17's, 24's based out of England. Other than knowing that I don't know dick about what he did or the stories he could tell. If he was alive today I would pump him for so much info I could write a book about him and his experiences in WWII. Now, I'll never know shit because I wasn't interested when he was alive. Now when I meet a combat vet from WWII I give them a loaded pistol and tell them to shoot me when they're sick and tired of all the questions I ask.

  • @53moreHP Know what you mean, my father was on Iwo Jima. He told some of it, a lot I just listened to, some I remember, wish I remembered a lot more. At that age it means little to you and when you are the age your father was as he related this, you, as I said, wish to Hell you'd listened and ingested each and every word. I guess youth in that facet can be cruel as old age nears.

  • man you are awsome make more even thought my grandad was lost to a messerschmitt he respected the german pilots and once he was in a wild cat and a german pilot let him go because he lasted so long

  • @SPORE11165 I hate to suggest this, but to my understanding, the Grumman F4F Wildcat didn't see service in Europe. Well, wait, did the Brits use them, were they called the Martlett. If so I apologize. Please enlighten me.

  • @8301968 i dont know but my grandfarthers flight journal said my grandfarther got shot down by a messerschmitt

  • @SPORE11165 Were wildcats deployed to Europe???

  • @malaspuzvicalnakrpa They were in use with the RAF at the beginning of the war, because England didn't have enough fighters of theyre own. A lil' bit like the russians used the Spitfire and the Mustang later in the war.

  • @malaspuzvicalnakrpa No, they were only used in the Pacific theatre. They were basically obsolete at Pearl Harbor but it was the only fighter America had in operation. The F6F - Hellcat was the replacement for the Wildcat and it was put into service in late 1943. The only other country that employed it was Great Britain and they used it their own carrier operations in and around the English Channel. As for the F4F Wildcat, it was only useful in a dive, that's it. Worthless otherwise.

  • @SPORE11165 i saw something like that on the history channel "dogfights", thats pretty cool that ur grandad was in a wildcat

  • @SPORE11165 I thought wildcats were only used in the pacific by the Americans. Only the British used them in Europe

  • @SPORE11165 yah? some how i doubt all of this is true because a wild cat is a NAVY plane that was dedicated to the PACIFIC theatre, so maybe your grandad was lost to a japanese zero

  • @boratfan6492 The British were given Wildcats and PBYs in the lend lease for coastal patrol and interception. SUCK IT!

  • @acepilot1997 well you profile says your american, but im going to take your word for it and assume that your grandfather was british

  • @boratfan6492 I know my stuff. My grandfather is American too, and my great grandfather is American, Then my great grandfather was a Ukrainian immigrant.

On my mother's side, Mom is Romanian, my grandparents are Romanian, My great grandparents were Greek and Romanian, and so on.

  • Also all the camera angles. how did u make them. im in the process of making a vid and that would work perfectly.

  • At 0:54 how did u get that camera angle? by zooming in? or in game?

  • i hate censorship

but anyway i met a man in a bar in la in 88 ,we got chatting he toldme he was there i wish i would have had more time i just wanted to ask him questions .he was a gentleman to boot,i feel sad sometimes i did'nt say fuck it, fuck the job.

  • Well said Jurassic ,I met a man in a bar in la in 88 and its still in my memory ,i felt such empathy from him.lets we never forget

  • Beautiful video! But it should be the 546th BS of the 384th BG. Not the other way 'round. The 384th BG was comprised of the 544th, 545th, 546th and 547th Squadrons.

  • omg people saying "only 1 made it back, that cant happen..." just stop...its a move not a real thing.thats like saying but in star wars, we dont really have light sabers...

  • The 360 version is for little baby pilots wearing diapers. You need PC version Il-2 1946 patched up to mod pack UP2.On. Go to Warbirds of Prey website for details.

Nice video. I like this music a lot.

  • i made a misson like this one but wiht 400 B-17's 120 P-51's and over 200 hindred bf-109's and fw-109's not a single bomber was lost all the p-51's where.... i was the last one left....... lol good vid 5/5

  • great vid but some thing was bad

first only 1 b-17 returned?? they where like 30 20 of them qand 1 returned/?

and the b-17 crashed like a plane rain they fall out of sky like engine problems and explosions still

    4½ star

  • greate vid!!! 5/5

  • is this on pc? can i fly a mission with b-17s on the xbox 360 version?

  • The 360 "version" as you call it is a completely different game.

  • tell me more old boy.

  • IL2 Sturmovik 1946 for the PC contains well over a hundred flyable aircraft. I can't remember if the B-17 was present in the "flyable" list, but I'll get back to you on that. This film is, judging by the graphics, made with '46.

IL2 Sturmovik: Birs of Prey (or Wings of Prey on the PC) is the newest installment in the series, doesn't contain as many flyable aircraft as the previous games and, if I have understood correctly, as I haven't played it, you need to unlock certain aircraft in SP mode.

  • Yes B-17 it's a flyable one

  • @IconOfSin88 Yeah you need to unlock aircraft using SP. There are a lot less aircraft, but its a good game. There are a lot of really cool missions in it too.

  • pc il-2 1946

  • good great pilot of the luftwaffe

  • Did only 1 b-17 survive the fight?

  • Hot Stuff!!!

  • thundervolt wildest dream maneuver like that and destry a bf 109 that easy.

  • what game g?

  • were u get both these planes frm? plz respond asap

  • good game!!

  • Out of all those planes, only one made it back to England? I've had the privilege of knowing some of the fine men who flew B-17 and B-24 bombers during World War II, and I can tell you there were a lot of happy stories about the guys who made it back... as well as a lot of sad ones about the guys who didn't. My respects to all the fliers of World War II- no matter what flag they fought for, they took to the skies with honor.

  • May those brave souls be blessed....:)

  • @nynaiqmal No german souls, they fought for nazis

  • my great great grangfather was a real piolit of a b-17 only him and his top and bottom gunner survived he might have verey sad stories

  • Some good, and some bad. Every soldier, especially combat veterans, will have a lot of stories to tell, happy and sad. The crews of the British and American bombers, and the Germans who rose to fight them will be as likely to have such stories as anyone. Those were some of the bravest men ever to live.

  • @Jurassic0Al No , just because this one has damaged , so it is the last return to England .

  • @Jurassic0Al ...damn. i can only use one thumb up.

  • @wagonrace- Thank you, but I'm nobody special. Just a young man trying to make his way in the world. I meant what I said, though. I always mean what I say.

  • @Jurassic0Al Well germany didnt

  • @TheDastan96- There were German pilots, soldiers, sailors, etc. who weren't Nazis and war criminals. And not all British, Russian, American, etc. military personnel were perfect either.

  • @Jurassic0Al you got a point

  • @Jurassic0Al No honor for germany, You'll get no honor by killing unarmed people.

  • @TheDastan96- I think it can safely be said that there were at least a few German pilots who were honorable. Who did their jobs and never got all mixed up in Nazi politics and ideology.

And you'd be a fool if you thought Germans were the only ones committing crimes during World War II.

  • @Jurassic0Al well most of the pilost were thaer before hiltler took over the luftwaffa and navy were not relly nazis some wore but most comading wernt wach the movie das boot

  • @Jurassic0Al

    Nice thought

  • @kino57- Yup. Thanks.

  • @Jurassic0Al If you want to see the truth, youd' better stay away from cartoons (manipulated simulation games)

  • @rommelervin- Was there something specific you wanted?

  • @Jurassic0Al Met a Spitfire pilot once. Battle Of Britain fella. May I say that I'm not worthy to polish his boots. A fine old chap that laughed about his exploits.
