  • I remember being truly scared of this ride, the original was awesome! The 1994 rebuild made the ride LAME! Now it's slated for demolition. Probably to be replaced with something cute and family oriented.

  • Wow! I'm surprised this version of the ride lasted for 23 years before it was remodeled in 1994.

  • I actually had a nightmare when I was young that they rethemed the facade for the Disneyland's Snow White Scary Adventures, where the witch would pop out of nowhere a bunch of times and scare you. This is an exactly what I remembered from my dream.

  • That was terrifying to watch... I'm 20. That constant witch laugh would make anyone uncomfortable and freaked out. No wonder they changed it up a little.

  • All I saw was darkness and stupid witch laughing.

  • i think i saw my mom in line

  • Did you hear that kid crying at the end? Yep, Disney made a ride that attracts kids and scares the daylights out of the age group it attracts.

  • @neelycgilbertson A few years later, they open an attraction in Tomorrowland for adults that little kids found their way into...the result was pure terror.

  • what in the HELL did I just watch.....

  • I remember riding this version when I was thirteen. I thought it was going to be a boring ride with dancing dwarves. I screamed so much that the little girls sitting behind me were making fun of me when I came out.

  • Finally...this is the version I remember from my first trip to disney world...in 1989

I knew I wasnt imagining that wierd light flashing at the end of the ride, lol. And ya it seemed like they toned it down as well....I went back during the 90s and it was changed a bit...

  • ...wow. I had no idea that the current ride had a predecessor like this! I would have been terrified as a kid, I think.

  • WHAT WAS THAT?!?!?! (my first impression when I first saw this version when I was young)

  • I rode the scary version. I was a very traumatized and sobbing four year old. Good times.

  • so glad I was born after they made it less scary!!!!!

  • then the queen crushes you with a giant jewel and they all live happily ever after.

  • HOLY *!#@&^$!!!!! Heck, I didn't ride this ride until 1994 so I saw the even less scarier version so to see this.... GOD!

  • God how i miss old disney world and old disney rides, the new ones, and “refurbished” ones are just not magical to me. i am so mad, and heartbroken they got rid of the old rides and shows, why couldn't they just build new stuff elsewhere, like in another state!

  • For a kid ride, it is actually thoroughly terrifying.

  • @Roco32373

That' s the most incredibly lame Disney news I've ever heard. This is the movie which started the whole animated Disney movie tradition and, as such, the ride should never be removed. :(

  • @Roco32373 Soon to be destroyed? What do you mean?

  • Some great haircuts going around in 1990

  • AWESOME RIDE! I RODE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME WHEN I WAS 7 AND LOVED IT, SO DID MY NEPHEW AND NIECE WHO WERE 5 AND 3.....WHY ARE KIDS NOWADAYS SUCH DAMN PUSSIES??? THIS RIDE ROCKED

  • the queen doesn't turn around?

  • I hate these dumb moms that complain about everything and cause them have to change the classic rides. Probably same ones that changed Pirates also.

That's why kids are so whimpy these days! "Oh, my precious child is scared"...Boo Hoo!

  • I thought this was soppused to be a kid ride that will scare the crap out of a little kid.

  • and i thought the 'kid-friendly' one was scary O.o

  • @littlemiss98100 me to LOL

  • This is the version of the ride that got axed because too many parents were complaining that it was too scary for kids.

  • Really glad they changed it. It was really disturbing and creepy esepecially the random ending. O__o In fact, this pretty much has nothing to do w/ Snow White (yes, I know you're experiencing the ride from Snow White's view, but still...). They should have called it "The Wicked Queen and the Apple", and did even thought of those who are senstive with seizures?

  • @dottiedots221

is there any disney ride in the world that doesnt induce epilepsy?

  • @metalsonicdoll touche

  • this is amazing! even the ride attendants look cooler. i was born in '90 & went to dland for the first time when i was 3 so i can't remember how scary this ride used to be. by the time i went back it was all toned down like it is today bahaha

  • Wow, this version was really incoherent. Pretty much just two minutes of cackling, cracked-out nightmare fuel.

  • "Where the hell is Snow White?" This stupid question was asked for years by people too dumb to realize that THEY were supposed to be experiencing her adventures from her point of view. In essence, the rider was Snow White, being terrified by and running from the witch. Jeez, I was seven years old when I first rode this and I got it.

  • This original version at WDW's Magic Kingdom was the BEST. They ruined it when they made it less scary in the early 90's and now I'm glad it's gone.

  • @4:22 OMG! Are we dead?! Wow....Heaven looks a lot like Disney World! ;-)

  • This ride scarred me for life

  • 'The Blair Witch Project' should have involved a group of young people getting stuck in that ride, being stalked by the cardboard cut-out evil queen. That would actually have been terrifying.

  • @troodon311 The figures of the witch were not "cut-out"...they were 3 dimensional figures. The sets themselves were mostly cut-outs tho.

  • My God, this is nightmarish!

  • I mean, not only was it freaky to no end, but it looked really cheap before they fixed it up.

  • @darthvalor07 youre kidding right? This original version was the BEST. Im glad they finally got rid of the lame "newer" less scary version.

  • Good gravy, am I glad that this isn't the version we have now!

  • wow it's so different now from this video :O

  • Where is this at?

  • Fast forward to 2:05 and save time!

  • ok......Its offical no matter what virson of the ride.....I hate them both. This is scary!

  • isent this now "Snow whites "scary" adventures"??/

  • @invaderchizsh THANK THE LORD IS GONNA BE GONE!!!! What i mean is that they are closeing down toontown, and replaceing the ride with a meet and greet for princesses as a part of the new WDW fantasy land project>

  • wow, this ride looked dark! all you can see throughout this video are the doors you go through and occasionally a glimpse of sarah palin there.

  • what kind of an ending is that?????? i mustve rode the other version cuz i have no rememberance of that whatsoever! weird.

  • Comment removed

  • @ErinGrizzly11 since you arent too bright, YOU are supposed to be Snow White and experiencing her adventures. Get it? Many people, like yourself, didn't grasp that concept and kept asking where Snow White was. Ughh

  • @JOHNNYBIX38 well SORRY mister know-it-all! it is because i asked that question, is because i am used to this ride at disneyland. same title.same characters.different storyline for each ride.

  • @ErinGrizzly11 I apologize. I didnt mean to offend you. I realize that the Disneyland version has always been different.

  • @JOHNNYBIX38 Its okay. Just think before you say something to another. =)

  • This is even worse than Journey Into Your Imagination.

  • I saw this out of curiosity. So glad they changed it, this version is stupid, nothing like the movie at all. It's a reminder of the Back To The Future NES game. And there's no plot in this one.

  • O_O As if it wasn't bad enough that the Evil Queen is creepy as hell...now they gave her that scary voice! No me gusta!

  • I'm so glad they changed this version, it is nothing like the film! The witch crushes you with a giant jewel?!

I saw the current version in Florida when I was 6 and I was terrified!

  • This version looks so awesome! I'm not sure if I rode it in 1992 when I was 5...I don't remember if I did or not.

  • I work at this ride & this is the first time I've seen this version. Thank goodness all those younger guests rode the current version cause this is way scarier!

  • This could not have been at Disneyland, CA. It was not ever like this in such ways.

  • This ride is supposed to be replaced by a Disney Meet & Greet, but a new 7 Dwarf Mine Cart Coaster -mostly indoors- will be made for part of the fantasyland expansion. If they dont do good on the new ride, i will murder someone for getting rid of this dark ride >:(

  • @funspot101

Jesus Christ, please tell me this new Dwarf Mine Coaster is not going to just be the Matterhorn rethemed. I'd hate to see the yeti replaced with Sneezy.

  • I'll miss this ride when they get rid of it all together.

  • @bsslegel Not at disneyland, I think

  • this, haunted mansion and THE MALESTROM are the scariest dark rides.

  • @cgsilverscreen2020 amen on the haunted freaken mansion, except for the holiday overlay at disneyland california during halloween and xmas time

  • Wow, they really changed up this ride. I can't believe how the old version is so unlike the movie. It seemed to be a bit messed-up and just about the witch. Then and now, I actually think this ride is scarier than the Haunted Mansion.

  • Imagineers, what you just built, was one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever rode on. At no point, in your scary, incoherent ride, were you even close to anything that could be considered "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". Everyone in this park is now dumber, having rode it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

  • @TB492 ahhhh hello, this was the original version, which opened in 1971 and was later changed in the early 90's....YOU are supposed to be "Snow White" and experiencing her terrifying escape from the witch from her point of view. Unfortunately, many people such as yourself, were too stupid to figure this out, so they had to dumb it down, make it less scary and add Snow White, the prince and the rest of the cast. It was donwhill from there and I'm glad it's finally closed down.

  • @JOHNNYBIX38 someone sounds a bit bitter...

  • @TB492 yes I am. They ruined it. I was seven when I first rode this in 1972 and it was awesome.

  • This is my favorite version and I always looked forward to this ride during my vacations. I was so disappointed when I rode after the refurb.. Thanks for uploading this!!!!

  • OMG...I could not stop laughing through that video...because I could imagine little girls getting on to see Snow White and riding through this haunted house. It practically had almost nothing to do with the movie...just taking select parts from it...and making them even CREEPIER than it really was. Like I never thought the faucet or the forest animals could be scary, but boy did they look it. hahaha...great job Imagineers!

  • @small5th

I don't remember much from my trip to disney world as a child--just that this ride scared the piss out of me

  • that´s horrible , much better now!

  • At 3:54 is the witch popping out at u or is it the voice of her

  • Wow. This ride could easily be a haunted castle ride.

  • at 1:26 is that the one that is now outside the ride?

  • In the older version of the ride you, the rider, were supposed to be in the role of the main character. This ride was interesting to work up through the refurb because it used the original ride system and if you hit the wrong button on the panel the cars could crash into one another!

  • @coasterpiglet This was the original ride when it opened in 1955. Walt thought it would be interesting to have you being Snow White instead of you just riding. But later on, parents didn't like that Snow White didn't appear in the ride and they especially didn't like the ending. So it was changed round. I like it much better now.

I think it's silly how the witch wins and you die. That's not how it works but still.

  • don't EVER go on this ride alone...

  • The part with the old hag made me cry the first time I went on it

  • Oh jfjsad~ >___< This is creepy~

    2:44 Did that skeleton's jaw move?! eeepp~

  • Wow.. it's COMPLETELY different now...

  • I like the new version a lot better!

This one is 100% creepy and it ends with the witch winning!

The other is less horrific, and the witch loses, not to mention more accurate to the film!

  • I can't believe the Disney company there would make a ride like this for kids. I mean you have a freaky old witch popping up here and there where you least expect it, and at the end of the ride she drops a random diamond on you. That's a happy ending? I'm just glad they remodeled this ride to be more family oriented.

  • @Mindbendersr the "newer" version was LAME, glad it's closed

  • That's a kid's ride?!

  • WOW! So ridiculous! was the disneyland version ever like this? I don't remember there being 72 different witch animatronics popping out at me! i would have seriously crapped my pants as a little kid!

  • I remember as a kid always covering my eyes at the beginning with the Snow Queen turning into the witch. If I was scared by that, I'd hate to have been on THIS version of the ride at the tender age of 4 or 5. :-O

  • they just say they gonna remove it and replace it at mk

  • @Girlnextdoor095 Hahahaha.

  • ima scared of all dark rides doesnt matter what it is ill cry and scream

  • pirates of the carribean is not even scary MsHolli09

  • Holy crap THIS is the original? Wow, they seriously downplayed the creepy witch pop-outs and changed the set pieces around because this is terrifying compared to how it is now... I like this version better :(

  • They should have just routed the tracks at the end of this ride into the final "Hell Scene" of Mr. Toad so the gem-crushed people could wave to the train-squashed people. Mr. Toad had more fun before he bought it, that's for sure. In his world, HE did all the scaring.

Not every ride at Walt Disney World offers a glimpse into the afterlife, but Mr. Toad's Wild Ride aims to please.

  • Is this in Ca?

In DisneyLand? I never saw this one ride?

where is his ride located at?

  • @brattyprincessh WDW...before the refurb in 1991

  • The scariest part of the ride for me was towards the end, when you see the Witch standing on the cliff and the lightning strikes and she falls over... I ALWAYS thought she was going to fall on me.

  • I think they want us to step out to the left.

  • @ttztotdca55

no im pretty sure they want us to step to the lower left part of the screen, build a disney logo, leave it there, and come back

  • Actually the original version was from 1955 - 1983.

  • @AwesomeCodeDude2 I think most people know that the author was referring to the original ride at the Florida park which is being shown here and not the ride in Disneyland. So for Florida this would be the original ride.

  • i seriously have know idea how i survived when i was three years old, i'm eleven years old now and i would die if i went on this ride again!

  • I went there when I was one and then when I was eight and I was scared in the inside. I didn't scream though

  • @AcenKingCard Except for when we were going away from the happy part and into the doors. I was screaming to get out.

  • What a random ending that isn't relative to the original film at all!

    The witch crushes you with a giant jewel and then you die?! There's no "happy Disney ending" in that! ;-;

  • @8DXD8 Thats probably why they changed it lol.

  • @8DXD8 There isn't a happy ending in any of them. Or at least I haven't seen in the vids I have watched.

  • @8DXD8 aint it cool?!

  • @8DXD8 It's just like the ending to the Mr. Toad ride. And people wonder why it was replaced with a Pooh ride (the Pooh ride is a VERY good ride, by the way. I'd check it out).

  • @michaelsar12 Yeah, but at least THAT ride supposedly followed the plot of the animated film.

Either way, I'm trying out that ride as well as the Pooh one when I visit DL in a few months! I also can't wait to see what the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Cart ride will be like once the Fantasyland expansion is finished!

  • @8DXD8 I suggest you go on Disney World's Pooh ride first. It's a bit more faithful to the movie.

But yeah, at least Mr. Toad's Wild Ride followed the plot of the film.

  • @michaelsar12 Sounds like you haven't watched Wind in the Willows for a while because Toad's Wild Ride is hardly like the film. They basically took the idea of what one could see on an insane drive with Toad and ran with it.

  • @FigmentJedi I haven't even BEEN on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I never went to Disneyland and by the time I first went to Disney World, the Pooh ride had already replaced it. Aw well, I like the Pooh ride (except for the Heffalumps and Woozles part, so I rarely go on it when I go to Disney).

  • Wow, what a creepy old bitch.

  • i went on there when i was 3 and i hella cried

  • Jesus H. Christ in a chicken basket, and I thought the CURRENT version was scary!

  • Pirates Of The Carribean isn't as scary as this!!!!!!

  • i went on it when i was 4 and is was shaking after

  • the new one is better.

  • I wish that they would keep classic disney dark rides or not refurbish them. Most of them back then were better then now.

  • @Getacookie AMEN! They ruined this one when they changed it

  • The scariest part of this is the low doors and close walls. I'm about 6'4, and when I'm forced into the higher rear seats of the car I come very close to the tops of the entranceways into each scene. It doesn't help that my elbows always feel about to bump into the walls. It sucks being a big guy.

  • What on Earth were they thinking when they designed this ride? No wonder they had to change it. I remember beind terrified of the dungeon part when I was young. Plus what the heck is that thing that appears at 3:27? That's probably the scariest thing in the ride (apart from the whole premise of the witch apparently killing everyone who rides it).

Also, please step off to your left. Please remember to step off to your left. Please...

  • This ride utterly freaked me out at age 4. In 2003 I went on it again to challenge myself--then at age 21--and I actually got really bored and wasn't even remotely freaked out; I didn't realize the whole thing had been changed, but I'm honestly glad they did. It was just too disturbing. I got off the ride crying like crazy. And all those skeletons back then just added to the freak-out factor for me; I love skeletons now, but I WAS ONLY FOUR.

  • I don't know what they were thinking with this original version, between the ages of 4 and 8 I was TERRIFIED of this ride!! The new version is so much better for kids.

  • I just saw that around 1:23 - 1:30 the Queen opens the curtains and then closes them.... that is such an amazing effect why don't they have THAT in the ride!? Still, it is amazing to see this ride in an earlier version althought I do think that I like the newer one better. :)

  • Hola atodos

  • so at the end you get hit in the head with a jewel and then you die, wow wonderful ending lol ;)

  • i rode the newer one

  • people always make fun of me because im scared of this ride

  • the ride is nothing like that

  • Mm gua its good

  • The original version doesn't have snow white at all, just the witch!!

  • The original rides put the rider in the point of view of the main character. So YOU are technically Snow White on this ride.

But no one understood the concept of this, and riders continuously asked where Snow White was. That's why the Fantasyland rides were overhauled.

  • ohh! that makes sense! you are right. Thanks for clearing that out for me :)

  • This had to have been in WDW. I remember being on that in 1990 and it did not look like this in Disneyland, CA.

  • they are renovating this?

  • @moto1666

    Nope,they already did.

  • That ride really swings around. Almost like a Wild Mouse.

Last August, my mom's sunglasses flew off her head while rounding a curve in the haunted forest.

  • I remember this ride from when I was a little kid. I guess it's tough to see it go but I do think the renovation tells the story a lot better. Also, I think the renovation makes much better use of the dwarfs which is what the movie is all about.

I'm heading down there in August for the WDW internship. Cannot wait!

  • i remember when i was 3 my cosin and i went in that ride. when it was our turn im all like oh shit... buttt then my cosin took out a bottle of ketchup he stole and started swirting it at the doll's even at the witch i dont know if you wre there but my dad reported the doll's were ketchuped and pee'd but to tell the truth i didnt saw his middle part

  • This ride was tough to operate as until the re-do in the mid-90's it was running on the old dark ride system- the the newer dark rides the cars have specific places where they stop in the station and you can't move them if a car is in front of them- Until 1995, this ride powered small sections of the track and you had to move them by pushing buttons to get them into the right spot- if you hit the wrong button the cars would hit each other!

  • I think the scariest part of this ride, was the bad hair styles in line!

  • @PapaRon99 This film was taken in 1990!!! What the hell did you expect?!?!?!

  • @PapaRon99 i have no idea what you mean

  • This is exactly how I remembered the ride! What a shame that they changed it. Kids nowadays are just a bunch of babies.

  • I rode this ride ... the ORIGINAL ride ... way back in 1977 or 1978. The WORST part was the queen peeking through the curtains while waiting in line. I was terrified!!

  • this ride scared the hell out of me but at the same time i loved it

  • my goodness is there any happy part? The witch isn't even in most of the original movie.

  • Ooh this looks so good! What a refreshing twist on typical Disneyness. Was it like this in 2000? I don't remember it being this dark.

  • The previous generation of children must have been a lot more difficult to scare, because they could handle the original Snow White dark ride is a MILLION TIMES more frightening than the current, and THIS generation FLIPS OUT when riding it!

  • UM,I'm 12 yrs old and I'm not really afraid of the witch actually.I like her and her laugh.

  • haha. and im 15... i dont mean YOU! haha! i mean you when you were about 4!

  • he he now I get your point

  • back in 1992 I was 5 and not freaked out at all by this ride. It's changed over the years.

  • omg that was scary for a disney ride!

  • aww... the 90's how i miss them. :(

  • I rode this when I was 4 and hid under the lap bar for most of the ride, crying! Today I conquered my fear as a 20 year old, and they definitely changed it up since I was little. Not as scary anymore, and the little girl in front of me still cried :( haha

  • I remember this ride, I wasn't even scare when I was...Four, but now I am almost fourteen and I'm scare to go into this ride now D:

  • Wow, I'm speechless!! I had no idea the WDW version was once this cool! Since I've been on all 4 versions of the ride (Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris) can anyone tell me if Tokyo's was once like this? Because Magic Kingdom's and Tokyo's seem to be very similar, like they were perhaps both updated at the same time since they have identical layouts.

  • Tokyo's version used to be and still is like this version.
