  • Eve n as a gay man I am ok with her voting based on her conscience.

When you are elected you dont leave you religion at the door it is a part of you whether I want it to be or not.

However that is why this type of civil right should go before a popular vote but we will have equality eventually it is a matter of time WE WILL WIN

  • Your daughter come before "The Good Book"

  • This is an example of how religion does injure society. I'm sure this woman is tormented and sincere. She is acting out of fear. Fear of men's interpretation of a stone/bronze age piece of text describing the mores of a long dead society mistakingly believed to be God's instructions.

  • This woman should be ashamed. I'm stunned by how cowardly her speech was.

  • It's a shame that she's not only voting that her own child will treated as a second class citizen, but also seems to blame her daughter for the discrimination that she has face. How does treating this minority 'fix things' or make anything better to use her words? This shameful vote will be remembered and to do it for religious reasons (essentially imposing religious values upon others) is to neglect her duties as a legislator.

  • It's a shame that this poor tormented woman is going to look back sooner rather than later and regret having voted against her daughter's personal freedom. It's simply inevitable. Massachusetts started it 5 years ago, and they're falling like dominoes because same-sex marriage is only fair.
