We were always taught to catch with our leg parallel with the audience. So the bottom half of you turned and then you caught underneath it

My rifle line did that last year. Except we turned around and caught it between our legs upside down. It was AMAZING! and is still our favorite toss:) Love, pearl rifles

Oh, and this sport originated from Army color guard. Thanks, I dont really know how much... not more than a few pounds though. I know for a fact the ROTC ones are way heavier. I wanna spin one someday =)

well, oddly enough, my dad acutally did the rifles like you do now when he was in high school and you can do alot of tricks we can't simply because, no matter how strong you are you can only throw our rifles about 10? 11 pounds so high and be able to catch them without beraking anything. that move you do there, would be really hard to do, i'm going to try it tomorrow see what happens though. should be interesting.

No the rifle isnt very heavy at all its a 39 I think.... but its like reall cheap wood cuz on girl dropped hers on the cement and it broke in half

You're well on your way to being an instructor if you like it that much.

Keep working and look into a Corps.

World Class Corps are hard to get into at the HS level and it's a HUGE commitment.

The key to almost any under the leg/behind the back toss is to watch the tip, because that's going to indicate when to catch. :]
